Schisandra chinensis (S. chinensis) is one of the core drugs used for relieving cough and asthma in traditional Chinese medicine. However, there are few basic studies on the treatment of respiratory diseases with S. chinensis in modern pharmacology, and the material basis and mechanism of its antiasthmatic effect are still unclear. Lignans are the main active components of S. chinensis. The aim of this study was to observe the relaxation effect of S. chinensis lignans (SCL) on the tracheal smooth muscle of rats by in vitro tracheal perfusion experiments, and to explore the mechanism by preincubation with L-type calcium channel blocker verapamil, four potassium channel blockers glibenclamide, tetraethylamine, 4-aminopyridine and barium chloride (BaCl2), β-adrenoceptor blocker propranolol, nitric oxide synthase inhibitor Nω-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME), and the cyclooxygenase inhibitor indomethacin, respectively. The results showed that SCL (0.25–1.75 mg/mL) reduced the contraction of isolated tracheal smooth muscle induced by acetylcholine, the preincubation with verapamil and glibenclamide could attenuate the relaxation effect, whereas propranolol, 4-aminopyridine, BaCl2, tetraethylamine, L-NAME, and indomethacin had no such effect. These results suggest that SCL has a significant relaxation effect on the isolated tracheal smooth muscle of rats, and the mechanism may be related to the inhibition of extracellular calcium influx and intracellular calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, as well as the activation of ATP-sensitive potassium channels. These findings may provide a pharmacological basis for the traditional use of S. chinensis to treat asthma.

중국경제가 어려위지면서 고용 없는 경제 성장으로 고용률이 감소추세에 있으며 청년층 실업이 심각해지고 있다. 대학 졸업생들이 취직해도 자기 원하는 일짜리를 구 하는 것을 하늘에 별이라고도 할 수 있다. 이러한 대내외인 환경 속에서 대학 졸업생 들의 취업난의 문제를 해결하지 못하면 “중국꿈”(China Dream)을 이루기 어렵다. 이러한 상황에서 본 연구는 중국 대학교졸업생을 대상으로 정식적인 멘토링 (formal mentoring)이 대학생의 창업의지(entrepreneurial intention) 에 미치는 영향을 실증연구를 통해 구명하려는 목적을 지니고 있다. 정식적인 멘토링이 창업의지에 미치는 과정에서는 자기효능감(self-efficacy)의 매개효과도 분석하였다. 또한 정식적인 멘토링이 대학생의 창업의지에 미치는 영향과정에서 신뢰(trust)의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 실증연구를 위해서는 중국 동북재경대학교, 서북대학교, 강소대학교와 남방항공대 학교 졸업생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과는 정식적인 멘토링이 창업의지에 미치는 과정에서는 자기효능감(self-efficacy)의 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정식적인 멘토링이 대학생의 창업의지에 미치는 영향과정에서 신뢰(trust)의 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 중국대학교의 졸업생들이 창업의지가 강화(하는 기대)하기 위해서 는 정식적인 멘토링의 행사가 중요하다는 점을 시가(제시)해주고 있다. 중국대학교 관리자들의 정식적인 멘토링 역량을 제고하기 위해서는 권한위양을 위한 관리체제의 정비와 청업(창업)에 대한 교육이 필요하다 The purpose of this study was to investigate empirically the impact of formal mentoring on entrepreneurial intention in Chinese university graduates. The mediating role of trust and the moderating role of self efficacy in the relationship between formal mentoring and entrepreneurial intention was also tested. The questionnaire survey was administered to the Chinese university graduates. The results showed that, first, formal mentoring had a significant relationship with entrepreneurial intention of Chinese graduates. Second, it was found that trust mediates the relationship between formal mentoring and entrepreneurial intention. Third, a moderating role of self efficacy was identified in the relationship between formal mentoring and entrepreneurial intention. Finally, some practical recommendations for developing formal mentoring and self efficacy for students who want to create business are suggested.

Colorectal cancer (CRC), now the third most common cancer across the world, is known to aggregate in families. USP7 is a very important protein with an important role in regulating the p53 pathway, which is critical for genomic stability and tumor suppression. We here genotyped eight SNPs within the USP7 gene and conducted a case-control study in 312 CRC patients and 270 healthy subjects in the Chinese Han population. No significant associations were found for any single SNP and CRC risk. Our data eliminate USP7 as a potential candidate gene towards for CRC in the Han Chinese population.
Overexpression of Tbx3 Predicts Poor Prognosis of Patients with Resectable Pancreatic Carcinoma

Background: To determine the expressions of Tbx3, a member of subgroup belonging to T-box family, and its prognostic value in pancreatic carcinoma. Materials and Methods: We determined the expression levels of Tbx3 on both mRNA and protein levels in 30 pairs of fresh tumor tissues and paratumor tissues by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blotting, respectively. In addition, protein level of Tbx3 were identified using immunochemistry in 80 pairs of paraffin-embedded specimen. The correlations between Tbx3 expression and various clinicopathological parameters as well as overall survival were evaluated. Results: Tbx3 mRNA and protein levels in tumor tissues were significantly higher than in the paratumor tissues by qRT-PCR ($0.05{\pm}0.007$ vs. $0.087{\pm}0.001$, p<0.001) and western blotting ($1.134{\pm}0.043$ vs. $0.287{\pm}0.017$, p<0.001). The statistical analysis based on immunohistochemical evaluation suggested that Tbx3 aberrant expression was significantly associated with several conventional clinicopathological variables, such as gender, age, tumor position, preoperative CA19-9 level, pathological T staging and N staging. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that Tbx3 expression was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (<0.001). Conclusions: Our results suggest that overexpression of Tbx3 is associated with poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients. However, additional clinical trials are needed to accurately validate this observation.

Preparation of novel polyethylene/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) nanocomposites with core–shell structure was presented. The method involved in situ ethylene polymerization in which nanotube surface was treated with Grignard Agent, followed by reacting with active transition metal compound, TiCl4. The multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) supported catalysts polymerize ethylene to form polymer nanocomposite. MWCNTs were homogeneously dispersed within polymer matrix, and as expected, the resultant nanocomposites featured core–shell structure which was confirmed by HRTEM. For the nanocomposite, the microscopic examination of the cryogenically fractured surface not only ensured a good distribution of carbon nano-particles in the PE matrix but also revealed the ductile-like fracture. The Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were employed for the study of covalent sidewall functionalization and chemical bonding environment of MWCNTs, also indicated effective immobilization of titanium catalyst on the MWCNTs surface. The crystalline properties, dielectric property and thermal stability of the nanocomposites were determined by WAXD, impedance analyzer and TGA. The dielectric result showed a slight decline of the dielectric constant of the nanocomposites with increase of the polymerization time, and lower dielectric loss was also observed.
Xeroderma Pigmentosum Complementation Group F Polymorphisms Influence Risk of Glioma

We conducted an exploratory investigation of whether variation in six common SNPs of xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group F (XPF) is associated with risk of glioma in a Chinese population. Six single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were genotyped in 207 glioma cases and 236 cancer-free controls by a 384-well plate format on the Sequenom MassARRAY platform (Sequenom, San Diego, USA). The rs1800067 G and rs2276466 G allele frequencies were significantly higher in the glioma group than controls. Individuals with the rs1800067 GG genotype were at greater risk of glioma when compared with the A/A genotype in the codominant model, with an OR (95% CI) of 2.63 (1.04-7.25). The rs2276466 polymorphism was significantly associated with moderate increased risk of glioma in codominant and dominant models, with ORs (95% CI) of 1.90 (1.05-3.44) and 1.55 (1.07-2.47), respectively. The combination genotype of rs1800067 G and rs2276466 G alleles was associated with a reduced risk of glioma (OR=0.44, 95% CI=0.19-0.98). These findings indicate that genetic variants of the XPF gene have critical functions in the development of glioma.
