As speech is the human being's most natural communication medium, using it gives many advantages. Currently, most user interfaces of a computer are using a mouse/keyboard type but the interface using speech recognition is expected to replace them or at least be used as a tool for supporting it. Despite the advantages, the speech recognition interface is not that popular because of technical difficulties such as recognition accuracy and slow response time to name a few. Nevertheless, it is important to optimize the human-computer system performance by improving the usability. This paper presents a set of guidelines for designing speech recognition interfaces and provides a method for evaluating the usability. A total of 113 guidelines are suggested to improve the usability of speech-recognition interfaces. The evaluation method consists of four major procedures: user interface evaluation; function evaluation; vocabulary estimation; and recognition speed/accuracy evaluation. Each procedure is described along with proper techniques for efficient evaluation.

The increasing interest of the Nationally determined contributions (NDC) to reduce national emissions has given rise to the need for turning our attention to new renewable energy sources, especially photovoltaic (PV) generation. To evaluate the impact of interconnecting PV and railway systems in Korea Railroad (Korail), this study analyzes the power system configurations and the load characteristics of railway system in Korail. In addition, the impact of System Marginal Price (SMP) variations and renewable energy policies on the introduction of renewable energy in electric railways was analyzed. Also, the PV power generation types applicable to electric railways is presented. Through a case study applied to Korail Line 1 station between Guro and Suwon, economic benefits from the introduction of vertical photovoltaic power generation are analyzed.

Recently, as the supply of photovoltaic systems has increased, photovoltaic facilities with long operation days are increasing. As the number of operating days of a photovoltaic facility increases, the failure rate increases. Failures of these facilities affect the reliability of the connected power system. In addition, photovoltaic generation operators suffer cost losses when supply is disrupted. Therefore, a proper maintenance plan for photovoltaic facilities is required. This paper established an adaptive maintenance plan for photovoltaic systems focusing on reliability. Reliability was analyzed through the life evaluation of each piece of equipment in the photovoltaic system, and the system reliability index was calculated.
클립 혈관결찰기의 체결력과 체결부의 구조적 특성들에 관한 연구

Laparoscopy instrument requires blood vessel ligator to prevent blood leakage. Clip ligation device is widely used to prevent blood loss and secure surgical vision by using blood vessel ligator. However, in order to properly install the clip to the vessel ligator and ligate the blood vessel by the ligation machine, the device is properly operated and the parts constituting the jaw areas should be ensuring sufficient strength and rigidity during the operating. Therefore, the clip binding forces were calculated through a dynamic model of the blood vessel ligator. As a result, the force satisfies the target value of 8.5 N or more regardless of the grip force positions. And structural analysis was carried out to find out the maximum resistance force at the tip of the inner shaft. The maximum load was about 45.6 N, which sufficiently satisfies the development target of 40.0 N or higher.

Purpose: We present our experience about the clinical aspect and treatment modalities of ostechondritis dissecans of the talus. Material and Method: This study included 35 patients, 38 cases diagnosed as ostechondritis dissecans of the talus that were proved by clinical and radiologic finding. The methods of treatment were conservative (2 cases), multiple drilling (1 case), excision (1 case), excision, curettage & multiple drilling (23 cases), curettage & bone peg fixation (2 cases), curettage & bone graft (2 cases), and autogenous osteochondral transfer(Mosaicplasty) (7 cases). Results: Of the 38 cases, 30 cases were associated with a history of trauma (17 cases of medial lesion, 13 cases of lateral lesion), and 9 cases of which had major trauma history and 21 cases, minor repetitive trauma history. According to O'Farrel grading system, 21 cases (55%) had good results, 11 cases (29%) had fair results, and 6 cases (16%) had poor results. Of the medial lesion 16 cases had good results, 6 cases, fair results, and 2 cases, poor results. Of the lateral lesion 5 cases had good results, 5 cases, fair results, and 4 cases, poor results. Conclusion: There were fair or good results in 84% of patients with surgical treatment. Curettage and multiple drilling reveals a good result in medial lesion in grade I, II, III and lateral lesion in grade I, II. Autogenous osteochondral transfer(Mosaicplasty) is considered for the cases in grade III, IV(medial and lateral), lesion exceeds 1Cm of size and poor result with another treatment modality.

This study was intended to evaluate the dynamic performance high-speed railway bridges (HSR bridges) of composite box girder type so as to propose the rational safety level and optimal design method using reliability assessment (RA) and expected life-cycle cost (LCC) concpet. To that end, a various design alternatives were created considering the variation of member section based on a standard design section (current Korean code) of HSR bridges and then the static analysis, natural frequency analysis and time history analysis using time series of traffic load were implemented on each design alternative. Based on finite element analysis (FEA) results, the dynamic amplification factor (DAF) of the standard design section was evaluated in a way of comparing with related alternatives. RA depending on design strength limit state function was carried out considering the effect of external uncertainty contained in FEA results by each design alternative. Furthermore, the expected LCC of HSR bridges was evaluated using RA results and the optimal design method was determined through the calculated minimum LCC. To review the effect of internal uncertainty included in the safety index, failure probability and minimum LCC of selected optimal design method, sensitivity assessment was implemented and, consequently, a frequency-histogram (cumulativepercentage) was illustrated. The outcomes of research, along with the dynamic performance assessment of HSR bridges, will be expected to provide the basic information in determining the structural safety and optimal design method.
