The tumor related-genes have a wide-range of biological functions and play important roles in immune response. However, a number of tumor related-genes have not been identified and characterized in the rock bream. Here, we have investigated expression profiles of the rock bream tumor related-genes, including LPS-induced TNF-α factor1 and 2 (LITAF1 and LITAF2), tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 14 (TNFSF14), tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 14 (TNFRSF14), translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP), and programmed cell death10 (PCD10). The amino acid sequences of the LITAF1 and LITAF2 had 138 and 163 residues, respectively. They consist of conserved LITAF domain containing the Zinc binding structure and the two of CXXC motif. TNFSF14 and TNFRSF14 comprise 266 and 181 amino acid, respectively. TCTP consists of 170 amino acid and it contains two conserved TCTP signatures. Furthermore, the amino acid sequences of PCD10 had 210 residues. The phylogenetic analysis reveals that the all tumor related-genes are closest to their counterparts in teleost. In healthy fish, the highest expression of the genes was detected in gill (LITAF1, TCTP), intestine (LITAF2), liver (PCD10), spleen (TNFSF14) and red blood cell (TNFRSF14) by quantitative real-time PCR. The gene expression analysis was also performed after infection with Streptococcus iniae, Edwardsiella tarda, and red seabream iridovirus. The expression of tumor related-genes were significantly increased in most of the tested tissues following infection with different pathogens. The PCD10 gene was significantly down-regulated in all of tissues after S. iniae infection. Therefore, this study indicates that the rock bream tumor related-genes may be involved in the immune responses against pathogen infections.

Dominick Argento의 "Six Elizabethan Songs"에 관한 연구

서정적이고 낭만적인 성향을 가진 미국의 현대 작곡가 도미니크 아르젠토(Dominick Argento, 1927- )는 “목소리는 단지 또 하나의 악기가 아니다. 이것은 뛰어난 악기이다”라고 말할 정도로 그의 주요 작품들은 성악이며, 성악에 대한 많은 관심과 지식을 가진 작곡가이다. 그는 14편의 오페라와 10개의 연가곡 형식의 가곡집, 합창곡 등을 작곡하여 목소리의 아름다움을 표현하고 있다. 본 논문에서 분석하고자 하는「엘리자베스 시대의 6개의 노래(Six Elizabethan Songs)」는 아르젠토의 두 번째 연가곡으로 그의 대표작 중 하나이다. 이 곡은 제목에서 의미하듯 영국 문화의 전성기인 16세기 엘리자베스 여왕 시대에 활동했던 시인들의 작품이 가사로 사용 되었으며, 아르젠토는 시의 형식, 분위기, 주제를 악곡의 형식과 일치시켜 곡의 통일성을 높여 주고 있다. 본고에서는 아르젠토의 생애와 그의 예술 가곡, 엘리자베스 시대의 시대적 배경과 시인들에 대해서 간단히 알아보고, 시의 내용, 형식과 악곡의 형식을 운율, 조성, 화성, 빠르기, 셈여림, 성악선율과 반주선율과의 관계에서 고찰하였다. 또한, 여러 문헌에서 이 곡을 모음곡으로 간주 하고 있으나, 필자는 제1곡과 제3곡의 ‘봄’과 ‘겨울’의 자연적 주제 사용, 제2곡과 제4곡의 ‘죽음’이라는 형이상학적인 주제 사용, 제5곡과 제6곡의 대상에 대한 ‘찬미, 사랑’이라는 주제의 사용처럼 세 가지 주제 속에서 연작의 형태로 작곡 되어진 점과, 동일한 템포의 변화를 보아 연가곡으로써의 형태에 초점을 두어 그의 작품에 대한 연주론적 입장에서 분석을 하였다. 본 논문의 이러한 접근을 통하여, 시에 대한 이해를 깊게 하고, 고전적인 시와의 접목과 더불어 서정적이고 낭만성이 짙은 현대작곡가 도미니크 아르젠토의 전통기법과 현대기법의 조화를 알아보고자 한다. One of Americas leading composers, Dominick Argento(1927~) created plentiful vocal works including 10 song cycles and 14 operas. He paid attention to the beauty of voice, and embodied it in a lyric and romantic manner. This thesis analyzed 「Six Elizabethan Songs」 which is one of his masterpieces and his second song cycle. The words of this songs are from poems in the Elizabethan era on 16th century. Dominick Argento made the forms, the modes, and the motives of poems to accord with the form of tune, enhancing the unity of the six songs. After briefly surveying his career, and background information on the Elizabethan era, I analyze the songs with performance guide. In specific, the relationships between voice melody and piano line, the rhythm of the poems, the tune of the songs, the harmony, the dynamic, and the tempo have been examined. Particularly, even though this songs are regarded as a suite in some literatures, I focused on the characteristic with which the songs can be categorized as a song cycle. That is, the subjects of songs linked to each other, and a regularity can be found in the variation of the tempo. With this thesis, I tried to deepen the understanding on 「Six Elizabethan Songs」from the viewpoint of performer and on the composing technique of Dominick Argento.

The purpose of this study was to examine the meaning in life and mental health of elderly Catholics who were at the age of 60 and up in age and took part in church service activities in an effort to pave the way for developing church programs geared toward providing them with physical, psychological, social and spiritual support, as church is the final place for their lives. And it is also meant to lay the foundation for improving ministry for the elderly. The data were collected from November 1 to 30th day, 2006. By using questionnaires method and subjects were 200 the elderly Catholics. The instrument used in the study was Elderly Meaning in Life(EMIL) Scale developed, and the other employed to assess their mental health was a Mental and Emotional Health Inventory for the Elderly.. For the data analysis, SPSS 12.0 for Windows program were used for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, Scheffe-test and Cronbach alpha test. The results of analysis were as follows: 1. In terms of meaning in life, the elderly Catholics got a mean of 107.40±10.01(range: 37-148), which indicated that they were in a stage of seeking after the meaning in life without finding it yet. 14 percent of the elderly people got 118 or higher scores, which showed they were in a stage of finding a meaning in their lives. 45 percent were in a stage of seeking after the meaning in life, and 41 percent were in a state of existential emptiness. 2. As for mental health, their collective average was 73.83±9.55(range: 17-85). When their mental health was evaluated from cognitive and emotional perspectives, they got a mean of 19.01±1.79(range: 4-20) and a mean of 54.82±8.92(range: 13-65) in cognitive and emotional mental health respectively. Their emotional mental health scores were lower than their cognitive ones. 3. Concerning connections between the general characteristics of the elderly Catholics and their meaning in life, the level of their meaning in life was statistically significantly different according to their living standard(F=1.450, p=.017), life satisfaction level(F=7.235, p=.001), monthly allowance(F=3.878, p=.022), and self-perceived health status(F=7.579, p=.000). With whom they lived together(F=5.405, p=.000) and who paid for their living(F=5.785, p=.000) made a statistically significant difference to that as well. Their mental health also significantly varied with their living standard(F=4.068, p=.019), life satisfaction level(F=9.594, p=.000), monthly allowance(F=5.919, p=.003) and self-perceived health state (F=6.824, p=.000), and with whom they lived together(F=5.721, p=.000) and who paid for their living(F=5.781, p=.000) made a significant difference to that as well. 4. There was a positive correlation between the level of their meaning in life and mental health(r=.473, p=.000). The findings suggested that most of the elderly people were in a stage of pursuing the meaning in life or in a state of existential emptiness without finding it yet, and that their meaning in life was significantly correlated to their mental health. Elderly people are gifts that are given to church and society from God, and they are believers who have plenty of profound experience in life. There is a necessity for preparing church programs to provide spiritual and mental nursing intervention for them to stay fit mentally and to find a meaning in life, and nurses and ministers should fully be educated to get an accurate grasp of the spiritual needs of elderly people.
