본 연구는 대학생의 자기주도학습능력 개발을 위한 교육요구와 교육 요구의 우선순위를 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 자기주도학습능력의 현재 수준은 어떠한가? 둘째, 대학생의 자기주도학습능력의 필요 수준은 어떠한가? 셋째, 대학생이 인식하는 자기주도학습의 교육요구는 어떠한가? 본 연구는 대학생의 자기주도학습능력 개발을 위한 교육요구분석을 위해 강원도 소재 H대학교 재학생 357명을 대상으로 온라인으로 설문조 사를 진행하였다. 연구는 이석재 외(2003)의 도구를 수정·보완하여 대학 생의 자기주도학습능력의 현재 수준과 필요수준을 파악하였으며, t검정과 Borich 요구도, The Locus For Focus 모델을 활용하여 대학생의 자기주도학습능력 개발을 위한 교육요구를 도출하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 전체적인 자기주도학습능력의 현재 수준은 보통보다 약간 높은 정도이며, 학습과정별로는 대학생들은 학습 계획과 학습 평가 과정의 자기주도학습능력을 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 구성요소별로는 학습 실행과정 중 학습 실행의 지속능력을 보유하고 있었으며, 행동지표별로는 학습 실행 과정의 학습실행지속 요소 중 끈기있게 학습하는 능력을 보유하고 있었다. 둘째, 대학생의 자기주도학습능력의 필요 수준은 보통보다 약간 높은 정도로 나타났다. 학습과정별로 대학생들은 학습 실행 과정의 능력을 가장 필요로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 구성요소별로는 학습 평가 과정의 결과에 대한 노력 귀인능력을 가장 필요로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 행동 지표별로는 학습 실행 과정의 학습전략선택 요소 중 수업 시간에 적절한 학습 전략을 선택하는 행동을 가장 필요로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생이 자기주도학습능력 개발을 위해 최우선적인 교육을 요구하는 부분은 목표의 내용과 시간 범위를 세우고, 주도적인 계획을 세워 인적, 물적 자원을 이용하는 능력, 학습 자원을 준비, 일정을 관리, 수업 시간에 적절한 학습 전략을 선택, 연속적인 학습을 실행하는 능력, 학습결과를 자신의 노력과 연관시키는 능력으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 대학생의 자기주도학습능력의 현재와 필요 수준의 격차를 분석함으로써 가장 필요한 교육요구를 도출하였으며, 대학생의 자기주도학습능력 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 데 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is analyzing educational needs and priorities for development of self-directed learning ability of university students. The following are the study questions. First, what is the PL (Present Level) of self-directed learning ability of university students? Second, what is the RL (Require Level) of self-directed learning ability of university students? Third, what is the educational needs of self-directed learning perceived by university students? In order to validate the study questions, after conducting questionnaire surveys of PL and RL targeting 357 students attending H University in Gangwon Province, analysis was conducted by using t-test, Borich need assessment model, and The Locus For Focus model. The following is the summary of this study. First, when it comes to the PL of university students’ self-directed learning ability, all learning plan, learning practice, and learning assessment are at normal level. Second, when it comes to the RL of university students’ self-directed learning ability, all learning plan, learning practice, and learning assessment are at normal level. Third, the educational needs toward the ability of choosing adequate learning strategies in class in learning practice for development of university students’ self-directed learning ability was the highest and it was followed by learning material preparation and schedule management. In the learning plan process, the needs toward the ability of using materials, making self-directed plans, and organizing goals and deadlines was the highest. In the learning assessment process, the educational needs toward the ability of connecting learning outcome to own efforts was the highest. This study is meaningful in the sense that it provided practical basic data which can enhance university students’ self-directed learning ability by analyzing PL and RL of the ability.
