      • (The) Impact of the entropy of review text sentiments on movie box office sales

        This study examines the impact of the ratios of review text sentiments on product sales. The sentiments of online WOM are often mixed, since individuals usually have different preferences toward the same products. Past studies have focused on online WOM effects by measuring WOM’s volume and valence. However, few studies have investigated how the ratios of relevant (positive or negative) and irrelevant review text influence product sales. Consumers often read review texts when they don’t have enough information from WOM valence and volume. As WOM valence and volume are usually provided by an aggregation level, consumers often do not have enough information. Thus, reading the review texts has become an important process for consumers in making purchase decisions. However, when consumers encounter too many positive reviews, they may doubt the credibility of online WOM. Thus, this study analyzes the ratios of review text sentiments by conducting text mining techniques. We classify review texts into positive, negative, and leftover (or irrelevant) categories and create an Entropy variable to measure the ratios of review text sentiments. A high level of Entropy in review texts indicates that the sentiments of review texts are equally distributed, but not biased toward positive or negative sentiments. We estimate our research model with the Entropy variable in a panel dataset for 204 movies over a half-year period. The results suggest that Entropy level in review texts has a positive impact on movie box office sales when the Entropy is combined with WOM valence and volume. The findings imply that deleting negative reviews to enhance product sales may not help online retailers or related parties.

      • 무선랜 시스템을 위한 효율적인 프레임 동기화 기법의 설계

        Synchronization including timing recovery, frequency offset compensation, and frame synchronization is most important signal processing block in all wireless/wired communication systems. In most communication systems, synchronization schemes based on training sequences or preambles are used. WLAN standards of 802.11a/g/n released by IEEE are based on OFDM systems. OFDM systems are known to be much more sensitive to frequency and timing synchronization errors than single carrier systems. A loss of orthogonality between the multiplexed subcarriers can result in severe performance degradations. The starting position of the frame and the beginning of the symbol and training symbol can be estimated using correlation methods. Correlation processing functionality is usually complex because of large number of multipliers in implementation especially when the reference signal is non-binary. In this thesis, a simple correlation based synchronization scheme is proposed for IEEE 802.11a/g/n systems. Existing property of a periodicity in the training symbols are exploited. We simulated the proposed scheme using MATLAB in IEEE 802.11a OFDM system with AWGN and multipath fading channel for indoor office environment, and implemented it on Xilinx Virtex6 FPGA. Simulation and implementation results show that the proposed method has much smaller complexity without any performance degradation than the existing schemes. 모든 무선 통신 시스템의 수신기에서는 초기 단게에 수신 신호의 동기를 맞추는 것이 매우 중요하다. IEEE에서 제정한 무선랜 규격인 802.11a/g/n은 OFDM 시스템을 기반으로 하고 있다. OFDM 시스템은 single carrier 시스템보다 주파수와 타이밍 동기화 에러에 더 민감하다. 서브 캐리어간에 직교성을 잃어버리게 되는 것은 극심한 비트 에러율의 저하를 야기한다. 이러한 OFDM 기반의 시스템에서는 동기화를 위해 훈련심볼을 이용하여 동기를 맞추는 방법을 채택하고 있다. 훈련심볼과 수신된 신호간의 Cross-Correlation 값을 이용하여 피크점을 찾아내고 그를 이용하여 심볼의 시작점을 찾아낸다. 이러한 동작을 수행하는 모듈의 경우 굉장히 큰 복잡도를 필요로 하고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 심볼 동기화 과정을 수행하는데 있어서 훈련심볼의 반복적인 값을 이용하여 연산기의 수를 줄임으로서 모듈의 복잡도를 줄이기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법에 의해서 구현된 모듈과 비교하기 위하여 모의실험을 진행하고, Verilog HDL 구현을 통해 성능 검증을 수행하였다.

      • 미세얼음입자를 이용한 이산화탄소 하이드레이트 생성공정에 관한 연구

        Isolation and collection of carbon dioxide as green house gas has been studied for using fossil fuel in environmentally friendly. The purpose of this research was to develop new economical and efficient method of carbon dioxide isolation and collection. The production process method of carbon dioxide’s hydrate was provided for high formation speed and collection concentration, and the process method was tested and confirmed by examining formation speed of carbon dioxide’s hydrate and rate of transition. In this study, megasonic vibrator was used to collect hydrate with high speed and high concentration from combustion exhaust gas of carbon dioxide, and then micro mist was generated and quick freezed. The high contact area of ice particle which has micron size of diameter was used. The process was designed through micro water production, micro ice production, and high speed formation and high concentration of hydrate production. Different amount of inflow gas and size of ice particle was used to compare formation speed and conversion ratio for developing a process and collecting basic data. The ice particle (120~400 micron) was generated by porous shape of micro ice (10~40 micron) and two fluid nozzles with -5 ~ -20oC and 10~24bar condition. The results show the gas hydrate was formed by reacting with 98% of total collected gas and micro ice particle during the initial 20minute. However, in control group, only 45% of total collected gas was reacted with micro ice particle. Therefore, reducing diameter of ice particle may increase hydrate formation speed due to increasing contact area of gas-liquid.

      • 排毒丸의 항산화능과 NC/Nga mouse에서 아토피피부염 병변에 대한 효과

        Anti-oxidative Activity of Baedokhwan (BDH) and its Efficacy against Atopic Dermatitis Symptoms in NC/Nga Mice Various related factors and tissue changes in vitro and in vivo were observed to investigate the efficacy of BDH on atopic dermatitis. The results are described below: 1. Contents of heavy metals such as Arsenic (As), Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), and Mercury (Hg) in BDH were detected below the standards. 2. Cytotoxicity tests indicated that more than 80% of viability were observed in Raw 264.7 cells, EoL-1 cells, THP-1 cells, and HMC-1 cells in 100 ㎍/㎖ concentration of BDH. 3. ALT, AST, BUN, creatinine and lymphocyte determination coefficient were all maintained in normal ranges in NC/Nga mice of BDH treated group. 4. BDH treated group showed significant increase in DPPH inhibition, SOD activity with dose-dependency, ROS production was suppressed by 23.8% at 250 ㎍/㎖ concentration. 5. BDH significantly decreased the amount of MCP-1, IL-6, IL-8 in EoL-1 and THP-1 cells activated by mite. BDH also significantly decreased the cell migration activity in HMC-1 cells at 10 ㎍/㎖ concentration. 6. BDH significantly improved the atopic dermatitis symptoms by naked eye evaluation, and significantly decreased clinical index of 41.2% and 65.1% in 12 and 14 weeks, respectively. 7. BDH significantly decreased the CD4+/CD45+, B220+/CD23+, CD4+, and CD8+ immune cell ratio in PBMC by 35.0%, 12.6%, 42.7 and 31.6% respectively. Also CD3+/CD69+ and CD11b+/Gr-1+ immune cell ratio were decreased by 15.8% and 25.2%. 8. BDH decreased the amount of IL-4 and IFN-γ produced in spleen cells activated with CD3/CD28 by 1.1% and 32.8% respectively. 9. BDH significantly decreased the amount of IL-5 and histamine produced in serum by 12.2% and 39.0% respectively. Also, production of IL-13 and IL-17 were decreased by 11.2% and 9.3% respectively. 10. BDH significantly decreased the transcription of IL-5 and IL-13 mRNA in skin by 44.4% and 28.0% respectively. 11. BDH slightly decreased immunoglobulins IgG1 and IgE production in serum. 12. Cytological study indicated that BDH decreased infiltration of obese cells and thickness of epidermis and dermis caused by inflammation. The results above were strong evidence that BDH has efficacy on atopic dermatitis treatment through anti-oxidative and immune modulation activities. The results can be used as clinical report, and various combination of different ingredient should result in broad application of BDH in similar symptoms.

      • 대중가요와 민요의 상동성에 관한 연구

        민요는 문학이면서 음악이고, 또 그것은 아울러 민속현상의 하나이기도 하다. 따라서 민중들의 삶의 실상이 녹아 있고, 시적 짜임에 어울리는 율격구조가 있다. 음악으로서의 민요는 보다 향토적이며 비전문적이라고 할 수 있으므로 민중들의 삶 속에 녹아 있는 생활의 방식, 즉 민속 일부분으로 전승되어 왔다. 따라서 민요는 많은 역사적․사회적 가치를 담고 있다. 전통사회가 현대 산업사회로 전환되면서 민중의 생활환경이 변했다. 이런 생활환경의 변화가 그대로 민요의 생존환경에 영향을 미쳐서 민요의 기능과 필요성이 없어지게 되고, 결과적으로 민요가 현장에서 사라지는 계기가 되었다. 이렇게 자생적 시공에서 전승되던 민요의 입지가 약해지고 그 자리에 대중가요가 자리를 잡았는데, 본고에서는 형식․주제․기능적 관련성을 매개로 하여 둘을 연결해 봄으로써 전해지는 가치를 살펴보았다. 대중가요의 자료는『가요 반세기』(아름 출판사, 2006)에 실려 있는 대중가요로 잡았는데, 이는 1950년대 이전부터 2000년도 사이에 유행했던 노래들이다. 비교적 정리가 체계적으로 이루어져 있으며 시대별로 분류되어 있다는 장점이 있다. 민요의 자료는 사라져가는 우리의 구전민요를 발굴, 녹음, 보존하기 위한 사업으로 이루어진『MBC 한국민요대전』으로 잡았다. 1992년 제주도 편 민요 음반과 해설책자의 발간으로 시작된『MBC 한국민요대전』은 다년간의 시간과 수많은 취재 인원의 노력으로 이루어진 위대한 성과물이다. Ⅱ장에서는 형식적인 면에서 민요와 대중가요의 가창방식을 비교해 보았다. 민요 가창방식의 분류에 관한 여러 논의를 살펴보고, 그 중 합당한 분류방식을 택하여 그것이 대중가요에 어떻게 계승되고 있는지 비교․분석해 보았다. 대중가요에 나타나는 민요의 가창 방식으로 인해 민요에서 대중가요로 이어지는 가창방식의 흐름을 파악했다. Ⅲ장에서는 주제 면에서 각 해당 자료의 주제에 대한 통계처리 방법을 사용했다. 노래의 주제는 가장 직접적으로 그것을 향유하는 사람들의 의식이나 생활의 모습을 보여준다. 따라서 대중가요와 민요의 주제 분류에 따른 일정한 기준을 세우고 통계처리 한 후에 그것을 비교해봄으로써 의미 있는 결과를 도출했다. Ⅳ장에서는 기능의 측면에서 민요와 대중가요가 가지는 사회적 기능에 대해 살펴보았다. 이전 민요가 지닌 사회적 기능이 소멸했다고 해서 연구의 의미가 없어지는 것이 아니다. 민요가 지녔던 기능들이 사라졌다기보다 다방면으로 이전되었을 가능성이 크기 때문이다. 그 중 대중가요가 지닌 비중이 클 것이라고 예상되어 이를 비교․분석해 보았다. 대중가요와 민요의 상동성에 관한 연구의 의의를 정리해 보면, 현대에 와서 잃어버리게 된 민요적 전통성의 긍정적인 힘과 영향에 대한 아쉬움으로 귀착된다. 덧붙여 민요는 구비 문학 중에 노래의 존재 양상으로 없어지지 않고 오래도록 지속되어 왔기 때문에, 그 속에는 과거부터 현재까지 이어지는 대다수 서민들의 삶이 고스란히 녹아 있다. 따라서 민요적 전통성은 문화 콘텐츠 등 다방면으로 작용할 가능성이 매우 많다. A folk song is literature, as well as music, and it is also one of the folk phenomena. Therefore, folk music embodies the reality of the lives of the people, and there is a rhythm structure which matches the poetic organization. A folk song as music can be more local and unprofessional. Thus, it has passed down as the part of folklore which is the way of living reflected in lives of the people. People's living conditions have changed as traditional society is changed into a modern industrial society. Such changes in living conditions of the environment affect the survival of folk songs so the necessity and functions have disappeared, and consequently caused the folk songs to disappear in the field. Likewise, a position of folk songs being handed down at spontaneous time and space is weakened and pop music takes the initiative instead. In this paper, I looked at the value by connecting the two through the mediums which are format, theme and functional relevance, then considered the feature of traditional succession related to this. Data on pop music from the pop songs in『The Half Century of Pop Songs』(2006) and these were in fashion from 1950s to 2000. It is organized systematically and there is a merit of the book to be classified into periodical changes. I referred to the TV programme, 'MBC『Great Series of Korean Folk Songs』' as the materials of folk songs that consist of business to discover, record and preserve our oral tradition folk songs disappearing. This programme which was started by releasing 'Folk Songs of Je-ju Island in 1992' and publishing a guide book is the greatest achievement from the effort of a number of years and crowds of reporters. I compared a singing style of a folk song with that of a pop song in a formal way in chapter Ⅱ. I looked at various debates on classification of the singing way of a folk song, and also compared and analysed how to be succeeded to pop music by selecting a right way of categorization among them. Thus, I was able to understand the stream of singing style connecting from the folk songs to pop music with the singing style of folk songs presented in pop music. In chapter Ⅲ, I used a statistical process method on the theme for each material from the thematic aspect. The theme of song shows people's consciousness, and a picture of their living to enjoy it directly. I, therefore, put a meaningful result like an aspect of living change by comparing it after setting a certain norm according to the theme classification of pop music and folk songs through the statistical process. In chapter Ⅳ, I looked at social functions of a folk song and pop music from a functional aspect. Although the functions of previous folk songs become extinct, the meaning of the study is still alive because there is great potential for the functions of the folk song has to pass on in many different fields rather than they disappeared. I anticipated that pop music was of great impotance than anything else so I compared and analysed it. When the meaning of study on homogeny between pop music and the folk song is arranged, we can realize that it is concluded to feel sorry on the positive power of folk musical traditionalism and influence. In addition, the folk music has lasted for a long time as a form of song among oral literatures so most of the people's lives are melted there from the past to the present. Thus, the folk musical traditionalism has much high possibility to work as the cultural contents too.
