Vol.42 No.-

It was after Korean Independence that Korean literature in Japan got into stride. The liberation gave the Korean in Japan new self-consciousness, which became the basis of active writings by Korean writers. Even under the poor conditions, the contemporary writers worked actively forming literary coteries and organizing unions like "the Association of Choseon Literary Writers in Japan." One of the results was the publications of literary magazines like "Choseon Literary Art".   In spite of the poor finance and the limited number of writers, "Choseon Literary Art" is the good source that shows the literary aspects of Korean in Japan after liberation. "Choseon Literary Art" whose writers were Kim Dalsoo, Huh NamGee, and Lee Eunjig had relations with Japan left literary organizations and "Association of Choseon Literary Writers" in South Korea. Therefore their ideological orientation was certain. In accordance with the ideological direction, they did literary activity as a cultural movement.   The biggest problem for them to overcome was the Japanese language. They must overcome the logical discrepancy to create national literature with Japanese, the colonizer language. The problem emerged in the form of controversial issue. Two opinions were bitter in tug of war over the issue. One was that the work must be written in Korean, and the other was that Japanese could be a useful tool for the Korean democratical revolution. This dispute has been repeated and it formed the major basis of Korean literature in Japan.   Now on it needs to study on the logic of "Democratic Choseon", which had been continually published since the liberation and on the logic of "Liberal Choseon", which had been published by the right group, the Korean Residents Union in Japan. The understandings for them are necessary to figure out the Korean Literature in Japan that has been continued.

Vol.62 No.10

In this paper, proper length of neutral section and neutral section system configuration is proposed to minimize accidents if ATO urban railway vehicle stops maintaining the leading vehicles in air section at regular intervals. When considering the minimum voltage sensing of power conversion unit in the urban railway vehicle, the effective length of 14,280[mm] with neutral section can be minimized damage due to high current because the urban railway vehicle is very little present chance compare neutral section with pantograph interval installed on a unit vehicle. In addition, uplift of catenary line and contact wire consider to minimize damage. The result of theoretical review, as the proposed neutral section shorter, isolated neutral section is effective than the integrated neutral section.

Vol.34 No.-

The novels of Kim Seok-bum, who is a Korean-Japanese novelist, have unique characters. They are idiotic characters appearing from his first novel to the latest novel, Hwasando. Continuously appearing with important meanings in novels, they have been attracting many critics's interest. Until now both domestic and foreign critics can be said only to discover the image of the people and its resistant meaning through the idiots. However the important thing is that the time and space is Jeju Island around the 4·3 incident. At that time Kim Seok-bum was not in Jeju Island and the settings of his novels are based on his collection of data and materials in Japan and the witnesses of those who ran away to Japan for survival. The resistance may differ from that on the scene, and thus the idiots are thought to have metaphorical and symbolic meanings. The idiotic character usually gives a laugh to the readers through his or her ridiculous behavior. Undoubtedly the laugh is not simple, but it may be the laugh in tears as in the characters of Kim You-jung or be the laugh commenting and attacking the evil conducts or the distorted views of others in Chae Man-sik's Satires. Or it may be the cannibal laugh pursuing the liveliness of life by overthrowing the formal authority and order. However the idiotic characters of Kim Seok-bum are different from them. Unlike the common idiots who are be laughed by the misjudgement of their false desire or its results, the idiots in the novels of Kim Seok-bum are the characters of the mythic world in which human beings and nature are in unity, no conflict with the world, and no distinction between the seriousness and the absurdity. They cannot help being the idiots in the world of conflicts and contrasts risking their life and in the world filled with extreme killings. Therefore they don't give laughs to readers in the end. Rather, they are the idiots in the Foucault's meaning who place deeply in the reader's mind and stimulate the forgotten truth acutely. They are recognizers and messengers of the truth that common people do not recognize or forget in the everyday life. For example, the readers can't laugh at Mandeok who is dragged to the execution ground denying the policeman's order to kill the spies because they are not human beings. Rather he is the character by whom people cannot help looking back on their life and thinking of the true meaning of 4·3 situations once again. And thus the idiots in the novels of Kim Seokbum do not die. The swelled old man in Kwandeokjung is alive in the form of rumor even if his role in the novel is nearly over. And Yongbaek in The Shit and the Freedom and seizes the consciousness of Sung Tae-il to the end and controls his behavior. Also Mandeok in Mandeok's Ghost Stories becomes a living ghost and appears among people at any time. Like various kinds of ghosts created by Jeju history, Mandeok, as a mythic being, makes himself known incessantly in people's stories or in people's consciousness.

Vol.74 No.-

The unique positionality of the Korean-Japanese literature can be revealed when it is viewed as a diaspora literature, which gets out of the modern national desire of imputing to a certain nation. This paper, approached in this terms, intended to look into which positionality the Korean-Japanese literature tried to make under the historical, political situation of the Korean liberation and Japan defeat in 1945. In the circumstances between Korea and Japan and international changes, the Korean-Japanese literature continuously intervened in Korea and Japan to establish their own status. Thus the Korean-Japanese literature also had an innate respect for Korea and Japan at once. It is possible to judge from the fact that the authors of 『Minju Chosun』 were composed of the Koreans in Japan, Japanese and inland Koreans etc. The unique positionality, intervening in Korea and Japan at once, is outed as behaviour that the Koreans in Japan translated Korea actively. That is why ‘The Association of Choseon Literary Writers in Japan’ translated the organizational statement of ‘The Union of Chosun Literary Men’ to the letter and there were many literary works with Korea setting. However it has been inevitable that the same expression differed in accordance with utterance places and contexts and Korea is still translated as a space filled with colonial contradiction. Only then could the Koreans in Japan get justification for joint struggles or symbiosis with Japanese in space of Japan, the country from which colony originated. Besides, the Koreans in Japan were beings translated by Japanese positively. That contributes to the point that one of the purposes for 『Minju Chosun』 foundation was to correct distorted views on Korea and the Koreans in Japan. The Korean-Japanese literature was a translated being as well as a continuously intervening in Korea and Japan and translating being, and because of this, it has already taken on globality and their literatures have showed world literary character that is inter-literary process.
