For the dissemination of new and renewable energy, Korean government introduced a renewable portfolio standard (RPS) scheme in 2012 after terminating feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme that was introduced in 2004. With the RPS scheme, 64.7% of its own goal (95.7% in PV and 63.3% in non-PV) was achieved in 2012 and 67.2% of that (94.9% in PV, 65% in non-PV) was achieved in 2013. The deployment of PV systems met the goal very well and that of non-PV did not. Recently, Korean government revised the target year of supplying 10% electricity from new and renewable energy from 2022 to 2024 and released a couple of measures on PV area. Recent studies showed that the bankability of a project plays a key role for PV dissemination. Therefore, the dissemination should be assessed from the point of bankability under the RPS scheme and a little adjustment is necessary to achieve the goal. Especially, installing a small size PV (<100 kwp) system needs a minimum REC price or a FIT scheme. In non-PV area, permission process is a common bottleneck and the related regulation should be eased. In addition, to achieve the long term goal, an implementing scenario has to be prepared. Currently, the portion of the waste-gas energy originated from fossil fuel is too large among the new and renewable energy sources and the portion should be lowered or eliminated in the 10% of electricity supply goal. Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has its own FIT scheme for PV dissemination from 2014 SMG and revised the PV tariff from 50 to 100 won/kwh in effective of 2015. It is worth to spread the other provinces.

신경망을 이용한 무선신호 핑거프린트 맵 업데이트 기법

무선신호 핑거프린트 기반의 위치추정은 높은 위치추정 성능을 보이지만, 무선 환경이 변할 때마다 무선신호 핑거프린트 맵을 새로 측정해야 하는 단점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문은 신경망을 이용한 핑거프린트 맵 업데이트 기법을 제안한다. 제안기법은 실내구조와 무선 환경과의 관계를 학습하여 실내구조의 변화에 대한 정보만으로 새로운 핑거프린트 맵을 예측한다. 제안기법은 장애물의 위치, 개수, 크기 모양 및 장소에 상관없이 새로운 무선신호 환경에 대한 핑거프린트 맵을 예측할 수 있다. 실측 실험을 통해 무선 환경의 변화 시 제안기법으로 예측한 핑거프린트 맵을 이용하여 위치를 추정할 경우 업데이트하지 않은 맵을 사용했을 때에 비해 위치추정 오차가 약 0.44m의 감소함을 확인하였다. While RF fingerprint-based position estimation has high localization performance, it has the disadvantage of measuring the RF fingerprint map anew whenever the wireless environment changes. To address these challenges, we proposed an RF fingerprint map update technique using neural networks. The proposed technique learns the relationship between indoor structures and wireless environments to predict new fingerprint maps with only information about changes in indoor structures. The proposed technique can predict fingerprint maps for new wireless signal environments, regardless of location, number, size shape, and location of obstacles. The experiment shows localization error is reduced by 0.44m when using a fingerprint map predicted by the proposed technique compared to using a fingerprint map that is not updated.

Optimization of fin configuration in a cooling system using Peltier elements are investigated by changing the twist angle of fins and the relative distance between first and second row fins. A commercial software, CFD-ACE+,is utilized for the conjugate heat transfer problem that includes fins and base plates in the fluid-solid interface. Input parameters such as the cooling capacity of the Peltier elements and inlet air temperature are assumed to be given. The change of the exit temperature due to the change of fin configurations are numerically computed and compared with each other. It is found that twist angle is not a favourable factor for enhancing the heat transfer.

암 진단이 소득지표 및 의료비 지출에 미치는 영향: 사건사 분석 접근방법 활용

본 연구는 사건사분석 접근(event study approach)을 활용하여 암 진단이라는 건강충격이 소득지표 및 의료비 지출에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석자료로는 2009년부터 2018년까지 한국의료패널(KHP) 연간 데이터를 이용하였다. 분석결과 전체적인 가구소득은 암 진단 시점에 일시적으로 높아지는데, 이는 이전소득의 영향인 것을 예상할 수 있다. 개인근로소득은 암 진단 후 유의하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 의료비지출의 경우 암 진단 시점에 급격히 증가하며, 그 후에도 암 진단을 받지 않은 상태에 비해 유의하게 높은 의료비 지출을 보여주었다. 암 진단과 같은 중증질환의 진단은 질병과 치료의 개념을 넘어 개인과 가계의 생활에 다양한 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 것을 제시하고 있다. 본 연구는 경제학적 접근방법으로 건강충격의 효과를 설명하고 분석하고자 하였으며, 의료패널데이터를 이용하여 실증분석을 통해 그 적용가능성을 제시하였다는데 그 의의가 있다. 추후 다양한 분야에서 세부적인 연구가 이루어져 암을 비롯한 중증질환 진단자들을 위한 효과적이고 효율적인 정책이 마련되기를 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to empirically and theoretically investigate the dynamic impact of the health shock of a cancer diagnosis on income indicators and medical expenses using the event study approach. We employ annual survey data from the Korea Medical Panel (KHP) from 2009 to 2018 for empirical analysis. As a result of the analysis, we find that total household income temporarily increased at the time of diagnosis of cancer, but it can be expected that insurance payouts and government subsidies may cause this result. In line with theoretical derivations, personal labor income decreased significantly after a cancer diagnosis. Medical expenditure increased rapidly at the time of cancer diagnosis, and after that, medical expenses were significantly higher than those without a cancer diagnosis. Diagnosis of serious diseases such as cancer suggests that it has an unexpected effect on the economic aspect of individuals and families beyond the concept of disease and treatment. This study reveals academic contribution in that it tries to analyze and explain the effects of health shock with an economic modelling approach and suggests a testable application model through the event study approach. It is expected that in-depth and practical research in related fields will be carried out to prepare effective and efficient policies for diagnosing severe diseases, including cancer.

As services using the Internet of Things (IoT) are diversified, it is very important to estimate the location of the device. Though network based localization using radio frequency (RF) signals is widely used in indoor environments. The proposed method utilizes neural network to improve the error of the existing localization method in indoor environment. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the beamforming method and performs well in NLOS environments.

똑똑한 텀블러

시각장애인의 생활 편의를 도우기 위한 텀블러이다. 물을 받을때 물의 수위를 측정하여 얼마나 차있는지 수량을 음성으로 알려주는 기능. 텀블러 내에 물 온도가 얼마나 뜨거운지를 온도센서를 통해서 알려주는 기능. 그리고 텀블러의 위치를 스마트폰에 입력을 통하여 소리로 그 텀블러 위치를 알려주는 기능이 있다. 이 3가지 기능을 아두이노로 구현 한다.

Revisiting the Tradition of Progressive Education

이 연구는 문헌 연구로서 연구자는 이 연구에서 홀리스틱 교육과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는 진보주의 교육에 대해 논의하였다. 연구자는 우선 진보주의 교육사조가 태동하게 된 사회적 배경에 대해 고찰하였고, 다음으로 진보주의의 철학적 기저를 분석하였다. 이와 아울러 다양한 형태로 전개된 진보주의 교육운동의 공통적인 특징을 재조명하였으며, 이를 토대로 진보주의에 대한 재평가를 시도하였다. 연구자의 분석에 의하면, 진보주의는 교육을 민주화하고 실생활과 밀접하게 변화시켰다는 점에서 그리고 특히 홀리스틱 교육의 철학적 기저를 제공하고 있다는 점에서 그 기여도가 크지만, 학교 현장의 혼선을 초래하고 아동의 지적 발달을 경시하는 결과를 초래했다는 비판으로부터 자유롭지 못하다. In this paper, I have delineated the socio-cultural contexts which gave birth to the progressive education whose founding philosophy is closely related to the underlying principles of holistic education. In doing this, I have also illuminated its underlying philosophical tenets. Moreover, I have investigated some main features of the progressive education movement despite that its multifarious concerns and strategies sometimes conflicted and contradicted with one another. Last, I have made its comprehensive assessment based upon the evaluations of both its proponents and opponents Based on my analysis, educational progressivism has accomplished two major feats which are democratization of education and education lor real life. Progressive education can be credited lor liberating students from external control, authority, drudgery and heteronomy. Furthermore, it has successfully transformed schools into something closer to the real world. However, educational progressivism has created anti-intellectualism in American schools. It is blamed to be a culprit of academic degradation and imbroglio of American public schools. Under the heavy influence of progressive education, schools have neglected their commitment to the intellectual development of each children. In short, educational progressivism has been both a blessing and a curse
