유튜브를 통한 식품관련 가짜의학정보의 확산에 관한 사례연구: ‘귀 통증에 양파’ 뉴스의 네트워크분석

The present study explored the diffusion of fake medical information on YouTube, one of the most popular social media for video sharing. Taking the fake news of “insertingan onion in the ear to heal earaches” as a case, social network analysis and semantic network analysis were performed to examine the characteristics and influencers on thesharing network, and the shared contents on YouTube. The social network analysis showed that first, the so-called “the onion effect”, though being related to health andfood contents, was being shared on a variety of shared categories such as people, game, politics, comedy, and leisure on YouTube. Second, influencers on these networks thatshared this fake information were YouTubers who did not possess the professional knowledge in the field of health and food, and were seemed to use the information tohook subscribers. Third, the before and after semantic analysis on the video titles of the fake news revealed that subsequent titles being posted the fake news were exaggeratedor ill-informed the benefits of onions. Through these findings, managerial implications to decrease the negative effects of medical fake news on YouTube and to enhance socialmedia literacy were discussed and suggested. 본 연구는 대표적인 동영상 공유사이트이면서 소셜미디어의 하나인 유튜브에서 식품관련 가짜뉴스가 어떻게 확산되는가를 점검하였다. 온라인에서 유통되고 있는 식품 관련 가짜뉴스인 ‘귀에 양파를 넣으면 귀의 통증이 완화된다’는 뉴스를 분석 사례로 선택하여, 이 뉴스를 누가 어떤 내용으로 유튜브에서 확산시키고 있는가를 소셜네트워크분석과 언어네트워크분석을 통해 확인하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 유튜브 내에서 ‘양파 효능’ 관련 동영상들은 건강, 식품 관련 콘텐츠임에도 게임, 시사, 코미디, 오락 등 다양한 범주에서 공유되고 있었다. 둘째, ‘귀 통증에 양파 효능’ 뉴스를 동영상으로 게시한 네트워크 상의 영향력자들은 건강이나 식품과의 관련성이나 전문성이 없는 일반 개인채널 운영자였으며, 식품 가짜뉴스를 구독자 등의 흥미를 유발하는 콘텐츠로 활용하고 있는 것으로 보였다. 셋째, ‘귀 통증에 양파’ 가짜뉴스 등장 전과 후의 ‘양파 효능’ 동영상 타이틀 분석결과 가짜뉴스 등장 전에는 양파즙에 대한 콘텐츠가, 가짜뉴스등장 이후에는 건강관련 효능을 과장하거나 잘못 전달하는 내용의 콘텐츠가 빈번하게 게재되었다. 이를 통해 온라인 상에서 유통되는 건강관련 가짜정보의 영향력을 감소시키고, 이용자들의 소셜미디어 리터러시 수준을 높이기 위한 사회적 논의가 필요함을 제언하였다.

This study investigated effects of mothers’ pre- and post-natal depression on infants’ communication competency development. Using the data of Panel Study on Korean Children(PSKC) collected from 2008 to 2010, 537 mothers who experienced prenatal depression and their infants were studied. Three research questions were suggested: 1) Are there differences in the levels of mothers’ depression at 1 month before delivery, 1 month after delivery, and 4 months after delivery? 2) Are there differences in the levels of infants’ communication competency development at 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years of age? 3) How are the longitudinal effects of mothers’ pre- and post-natal depression on infants’ communication competency development? To analyze data, repeated measurement ANOVA and structural equation modeling were used. Findings are as follows: 1) A U-shape was found in the process of mothers’ depression from 1 month before delivery to 4 months after delivery. 2) A U-shape was found from infants’ communication competency from 1 year to 3 years after birth. 3) Mothers’ depression at 1 month after delivery positively affected their depression at 4 months after delivery. 4) Infants’ communication competency development at 1 year after birth positively affected their communication competency development at 2 years after birth. 5) Mothers’ post-natal depression significantly affected infants’ communication competency development at 1 year and 2 years after birth. The current findings suggest that intervention programs for mothers’ post-natal depression at the beginning stage are required to improve child communication competency.

This paper investigates the acquisition of relative clauses in Korean by Korean monolingual children and Korean-Chinese bilingual children. The study aims (i) to test Keenan and Comries' (1977) relativization hierarchy and its two different accounts from a processing point of view; structural distance hypothesis (O'Grady et al 2003) and linear distance hypothesis (Hsiao & Gibson 2003), and (ii) to compare monolingual and bilingual acquisitions of relative clauses in Korean. A picture-aided comprehension task with 42 Korean monolingual children and 33 Korean-Chinese bilingual children aged 5 and 6 showed the following results: (i) subject relative clauses were comprehended better than object relative clauses and indirect object relative clauses by both language groups; (ii) monolingual children's comprehension of relative clauses was better than bilingual children's at the same age; (iii) the findings conform to the structural distance hypothesis, not to the linear distance hypothesis. However, this study found no difference between object relative clauses and indirect object relative clauses, which suggests more investigation on the structural distance hypothesis.

This paper reports our experimental finding on the language development and the processing of Korean relative clauses with 86 Korean monolingual and 189 Korean-Chinese bilingual subjects at all age groups. We have adopted a picture-cued comprehension paradigm, where a subject is asked to pick out one of the two pictures that correctly describes what (s)he just heard. The test conditions include subject vs. object relatives with lexical heads, subject vs. object relatives with the bound nominal head kes 'thing', etc. Our data contradict earlier studies, where subjects found subject relatives easier than object relatives; in our data, both monolingual and bilingual children find object relatives easier than subject relatives. We explain the results in terms of the word order strategy for sentence processing, according to which children assign the subject/actor role to the linearly first NP in a sentence. Our data also show that there is a quantitative difference between monolingual and bilingual language development; i.e. the word order effect disappears earlier for monolinguals than for bilinguals.
청소년기 일상생활시간 사용에 대한 인구학적 특성 및 부모양육태도의 영향

The present study investigated the relationship of Korean adolescents’ daily time use patterns with their demographic characteristics and perceived parenting attitudes. The fourth wave data of seventh graders in the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) were used. The daily time use patterns were defined as the amount of time spent in daily maintenance, schoolwork, and leisure activities. The participants reported to spend 378 and 511 minutes for sleeping, 179 and 198 minutes for doing homework, and 166 and 408 minutes for participating in leisure activities daily on weekdays and weekends, respectively. Such daily time uses were affected by their sex, parents’ educational backgrounds, family incomes, a number of days their parents were absent at home after school, and their perceived parenting attitudes. The study limited the daily time use for the overt activities, engendering a limited understanding of their subjective daily lives. However, it may be concluded that Korean adolescents’ demographic characteristics and perceived parenting attitudes of parents explain their daily time uses related to overt activities.
