현재 우체국 우편업무는 우편물 접수관리, 운송관리(구분, 교환 및 체결), 집배등과 운영 지원부서인 사무분야로 크게 나눌 수 있다. 그 중 운송관리 업무는 주로 현장 작업장에서 수행되고 있어 현장의 조도는 근무자들의 건강은 물론 업무능률과 직결된다. 그러나, 현재까지의 우체국 증·개축시 광범위한 조도설계(KS A 3011 300∼750[lx])를 일관성 없이 적용함으로써 우체국별로 근무환경이 대부분 상이 하였다. 이에 이 논문에서는 1995년도(서울서초우체국, 용인수지우체국), 1999년도 (성남분당우체국, 안양평촌우체국) 그리고 2003년도(서울강남우체국, 서청주우체국)설계 시공한 우체국 2개씩을 대상으로 작업장 및 사무실 설계조도를 검토하고, 각 연도별로 시공된 3곳(성남분당우체국, 서울서초우체국, 서울강남우체국)을 직접 방문하여 설계시와 비교하여 현재 어떠한 형태로 변경되어 있고, 현재 조도는 얼마를 유지하고 있는지 등을 파악 분석하였으며, 특히 서울서초우체국에 대하여는 과거와 현재의 설치상태를 조명시뮬레이션을 통하여 차이점을 면밀히 검토함으로써 적정한 작업장 및 사무실 근무형태를 도출하고자 한다. 그리고, 이 논문에서는 우체국 작업장 및 사무실의 조도를 이해하는데 필요한 부분을 아래와 같이 다루었다. 1. 조명의 기초에서는 조명을 쉽게 생각할 수 있고 이해할 수 있게끔 조명과 인간생활과의 관계 및 조명 용어를 설명하였고, 2. 조명기구의 종류는 배광분포, 형태, 용도에 따라 분류하여 다루었으며, 특히 우체국 작업장 및 사무실에서 주로 사용하는 형광등을 설명하였다. 3. 옥내조명은 조명방법과 설계방법에 따라 논하였고, 설계방법은 광속법과 구역 공간법을 설명하였으며. 또한 국부조명의 계산을 알아보았다. 4. 또한, 사무실 조명형태와 우체국 작업장조명을 알기위한 공장조명을 포함하였으며 현장에서 원활한 유지보수를 위하여 현장조도 계측법을 소개 하였다. 위 사항을 토대로 1995년, 1999년 및 2003년 우체국 작업장 및 사무실 조명설계 현황을 비교 분석 적정조도를 파악하여 향후 환경개선 및 증·개축시 기준치를 제시함으로써 친화적인 환경을 만들고자 한다. Presently, major work at the post office is generally categorized into mail acceptance, transportation management(mail sorting, exchanging, contracting, etc), delivery service and office work for business operation. Among them, transportation management work is usually performed in the work places of post office, whose illumination is directly linked with work efficiency and affects worker's health. In spite of these facts, extending or renovating the building, we still adopts a wide range of illumination criteria(KS A 3011 300~750[lx]) without any consideration for different working environment of each post office. Hence, I have chosen 6 post offices that were Seo-cho post office from Seoul, Su-ji post office from Yong-In designed in 1995, Bun-dang post office from Sung-nam, Pyung-chon post office from An-yang planed in 1999, and Gang-nam post office from Seoul, Seochong-ju post office from Chong-ju drowed in 2003. and examined illumination degree of those work places, including both indoor and outdoor. I visited 3 post offices; they are Bun-dang post office, Seo-cho post office and Gang-nam post office which represent each year's building and analyzed what has been changed from the original design, what degree of illumination is being kept currently, and so on. Especially, as to Seo-cho post office I used simulations of lighting to find out the differences of the installation condition which is applied in the past and the present respectively and then, I would come up with the more relevant environment of work places and in door offices. In this paper, I deal with some necessary fact for understanding the illumination of work places and indoor office as follows. 1. Basis of the illumination explains the relation between illumination and human life as well as illumination terminology to the concept of illumination easily. 2. Kind of lighting instrument is explained as being classified into luminous intensity, distribution, type, and purpose, especially, mentioned fluorescent lights used in the work places or indoor office. 3. In the indoor lighting section, I treat "Method of Illumination and Method of Design" and "Lumen method & Zonal Cavity method" in the aspect of Method of Design, and then I considered calculation of the local lighting. 4. I also introduced "Illumination Estimating Method" for easier maintenance of the work and indoor office including the illumination type of indoor office and factory. Based on these items mentioned above, I would analyze the current situation of illumination of work place & indoor offices designed in 1995, 1999 and 2003. In the result, I intend to propose a kind of standard for extending/renovating the buildings which will contribute to the improved environment in the future.
