The construction of structures on soft ground includes many problems. Soft ground- treatment method is necessary to increase in the stability of the soil-structures. Now Geosynthetic reinforced soil method of many soft ground treatment methods is being used widely by the economical and simple method. And the usage is increasing. It has been proved reinforce effects of Geosynthetic as a result of the general study on embankment reinforced Geosynthetic. But It is necessary to study variously on each spot condition to apply for Geosynthetic at the several practical field. Also, It is noted to study of effective installation of Geosynthetic on ground condition as well as tensile strength. This study was performed to analyze the stability through Limit Equilibrium Method on embankment reinforced with Geosynthetic. The applied soil parameter described the usual field conditions by applying design parameter used usually at the field. In finally, the influence of Geosynthetic installation and slope angle appeared slightly, but the influence of the depth of soft Ground, Cohesion, and tensile strength of Geosynthetic appeared relatively highly in stability.
어혈(瘀血)로 변증된 피부갑착(皮膚甲錯) 환자에 혈부축어탕(血府逐瘀湯)을 사용한 치험1례 보고

Objective : Skin scale(皮膚甲錯) refers to an excessive dryness of skin which can be found under such conditions as blood deficiency(血虛), blood heat(血熱), damp heat(濕熱), the weakness of stomach(脾胃虛) and blood stasis(瘀血). Method : A sensitive and nervous patient showed symptoms of insomnia and chest discomfort as well as skin scale. He had great anxiety over his illness. He, therefore, was diagnosed as blood stasis caused by outburst of emotions and was prescribed Hyulbuchukeotang(血府逐瘀湯) to remove blood stasis in chest. Result and Conclusion : After taking Hyulbuchukeotang, insomnia, chest discomfort and skin scale eased off. Since not only blood stasis but also other factors may cause skin scale, more research on such cases must be done to determine the efficacy of Hyulbuchukeotang for skin scale.

Determination and differentiation of cells in the skeletal muscle lineage is positively regulated by cell-cell contact. differentiation proteins proposed to mediate this effect include both classical MyoD and MEF members : potential interactions between the promyogenic activities of these classes of protein, however, are unknown. We show here that MyoD and MEF, two promyogenic family members that determine to each other in a cis fashion, form ineraction with MyoD- and MEF. These proteins contain myosin heavy chains and are enriched at sites of cell-cell contact between myoblasts, Therefore, In differentiation of MyoD MEF from CST (Chungsimyeonjatang) interact dependently, suggesting that the interactions occur in a cis fashio : consistent with this conclusion, MyoD-mediated differentiation is required for myoblast to occur by CST. Inhibition in myoblasts of a MyoD by STP in its ability to associate with MEF interferes with differentiation as assessed by morphological and transcription level, suggesting that this interaction is functionally important in myogenesis. Also, some of the differentiation-mediated proteins that are required for myogenesis seem to be based on interdependent activities of promyogenic classical SMAD-subfamilly.
황련아교탕(黃連阿膠湯)이 Free Cholesterol에 의한 혈관내피세포 손상에 미치는 영향

Hwangryunagyotang is supposed to have significant effects on some sorts of cardiovascular diseases like atherosclerosis. For this study. ACAT inhibitor was put in LDLR -/- mice to derive free cholesterol from it. This was to examine the effectiveness of Hwangryunnagyotang on its protecting and recovering function with endothelial cells damaged by free cholesterol through experimental. The results reported below. Hwangryunagyotang suppressed the crystallization of reactive oxygen species in macrophages and the numbers of free cholesterol crystal plate structured and reduced fragmentation of nucleus in ECV 304 cell strain by ACAT inhibitor significantly. Hwangryunagyotang also suppressed the necrosis of tissue in LDLR -/- mice' (treated with ACAT inhibitor) inflammatory portion which is adjacent to aortic root, proximal aorta and carotid artery by immunohistochemistry and fluorescence microscopy. On the whole, Hwangryunagyotang suppressed the necrosis of endothelial cells and especially it's effcet for the necrosis of para-myocardial tissues by free cholesterol. With this result, I suggest Hwangryunagyotang might have protective and recovery effects on atherosclerosis, so we need to carry on this study henceforth clinically and experimentally as well.
가미녕신환(加味寧神丸)이 CT105로 유도된 Neuro2A 세포주에서의 항치매 효과(效果)

The water extract of Gamiyaengshinhwan (GYH), has been used in vitro tests for its beneficial effects on neuronal survival and neuroprotective functions, particularly in connection with CT105-related dementias and Alzheimer's disease(AD). CT105 derived from proteolytic processing of the $\beta$-amyloid precursor protein (APP), including the amyloid-$\beta$ peptide ($A{\beta}$), plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's dementia. We determined that transfected overexpressing APP695 and $A{\beta}$ CT105 have a profound attenuation in the Increase in CT105 expressing neuro2A cells from GYH. Experimental evidence indicates that GYH protects against neuronal damage from cells, but its cellular and molecular mechanisms remain unknown. Using a neuroblastoma cell line stably expressing CT105-associated neuronal degeneration, we demonstrated that GYH inhibits formation of amyloid-$\beta$ fragment ($A{\beta}$ CT105). which are the characteristic, and possibly causative, features of AD. The decreased CT105 $A{\beta}$ in the presence of GYH was observed in the conditioned medium of this CT105-secreting cell line under in vitro. In the cells, GYH significantly attenuated mitochondrion-initiated apoptosis and decreased the activity of Bax, a key enzyme in the apoptosis cell-signaling cascade. These results suggest that neuronal damage in AD might be due to two factors: a direct CT05 toxicity and the apoptosis initiated by the mitochondria. Multiple cellular and molecular neuroprotective mechanisms, including attenuation of apoptosis and direct inhibition of CT105 aggregation, underlie the neuroprotective effects of GYH.
CT99 발현 신경 세포주에서 익기안신탕(益氣安神湯)의 신경보호 및 항치매 효과

Alzheimer's disease(AD) is a geriatric dementia that is widespread in old age. In the near future AD will be the biggest problem in public health service. It has been widely believed that $A{\beta}$ peptide devided from APP causes apoptotic neurotoxicity in AD brain. However, recent evidence suggests that n99 may be an important factor causing neurotoxicity in AD. Mouse Neuro 2A cells expressed with CT99 exhibited remarkable apoptotic cell damage. We invesgated the protective effects of Ikgiansintang water extract(IGA). Findings from our experiment have shown that IGA inhibits the activities of CT99, which has neurotoxicities and apoptotic activities in cell line. In addition treatment of IGA($50{\mu}g/ml$ for 24 hours) partially prevented CT99-induced cytotoxicity in Neuro 2A cells. As the result of this study, In IGA group, the apoptosis in the nervous system is inhibited, the repair against the degerneration of Neuro 2A cells by n99 expression is promoted. Base on these findings, IGA may be beneficial for the treatment of AD.
소합향원(蘇合香元)이 혈액내 Free Cholesterol에 의한 혈관내피세포 손상에 미치는 영향

FC(free choresterol) plays an important role in normal and pathophysiological cells including that of messenger molecule or dilator of blood vessels in such illnesses as artheriosclerosis, hypertension and myocardial infarction. Smooth muscle and endothelial cell functions in the arteria wall are unified by complex intercellular signalling processes. In arteria comprised of one layer of smooth muscle cells surrounding the endothelium, the close apposition of the two cell types enables a signal derived from one cell to rapidly diffuse to neighboring cells. Experimentation was conducted to investigate the potential contribution of Sohaphyangwon(SHHW) on levels of FC generated by goaded microphages, and mechanisms of protection against ACAT inhibitor. It was found that J774 macrophages, which normally do not express FC were expressed by oxLDL and ACAT inhibitor. SHHW protected cells were found to be resistant to oxLDL and delayed death following the FC. Inhibition of FC formation abolished the protective effect against ACAT inhibitor exposure. Cadiovascular diseases include abnormalities of blood vessels dysfunction of the renin-angiotension system. What relation herbal medicine may have with vessel endothelium necrosis was here studied. In Oriental Medicine, SHHW water extract used for diseases in relation to cardiovascular systems. The resistence to cardiovascular disease of ACAT inhibitor induced J774 macrophage cells were studied through analysis of cell morphological patterns and immunochemistry of SHHW. The results of this study suggest that SHHW has protective effects on the cardiovascular system, and that it is effective in both prevention and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system, particularity against necrosis of blood.
