무궁화꽃을 이용한 L-Arginine Sensor 開發에 關한 硏究

흰 무궁화꽃의 씨방을 이용하여 Tissue electrode를 제조하고, L-arginine을 정량하기 위한 최적조건을 조사한 결과 0.1M phosphate 완충용액에서 pH 8.0, 온도 $25^{\circ}C$, 조직두께 $20 {\mu}m$이었을 때이며, 이에 정량 가능한 직선범위는 $5.0 {\times} 10^{-3}M $∼ $1.0 {\times} 10^{-1}M$이었으며, 감응도는 54.0 mV/decade로 나타났고, 감응시간은 7∼8분이 소요되었다. $K_m$값은 $6.4 {\times} 10^{-6}(M)$이다. It is shown that receptacle tissue of the rose of sharon can serve as an effective biocatalyst by the construction of a potentiometric membrane electrode with response and selectivity for arginine. Electrodes using this tissue in conjunction with $NH_3$ gas sensing probes yield good response to arginine in $10^{-1}M to 10^{-3}M$ range and retain activity for a least 1 weeks. The arginine-selective membrane electrode using tissue slices of the rose of sharon have good selectivity in presence of other amino acids. The optimum conditions are pH 8.0, $25^{\circ}C$ and $20 {\mu}m$ thickness of slices in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution and $K_m$ values is $6.4 {\times} 10^{-6}(M)$.

쥐의 조직을 이용한 glutamine 선택성 sensor 개발에 관한 연구

The various types of enzyme have been coupled to ion-selective electrodes for the development of enzyme membrane electrodes. The tissue and organ of animals and plants contained a lot of variant enzymes. A bioselsoective membrane electrode which employs slices of Wistar rat liver was studied that the effect of pH, kinds and concentration of buffer solution, temperature and thickness of slice in order to optimize electrode response. The longstability, the response time and slope of wistar rat tissue glutamine selective membrane electrode was evaluated.

The Synthesis, NMR Sepectrum and MO Theoretical Studies on MBBA and EBBA

합성한 MB BA0와 EBBA의 NMR spectrum 의 분석결과로 N-(p-methoxy benzylidene)-p-n-butylaniline(MBBA)dhk N-(p-ethoxy benzylidene)-p-n-butylaniline(EBBA)분자내의 p-n-butylaniline의 벤젠핵과 분자내의 다른 이중결합 사이에 conjugation이 일어나고 있지 않음을 발견하였으며 이 벤젠핵은 분자 방면으로부터 이탈되어 있다는 결론과 분자궤도 계산겨로가 벤젠기가 평면에서 30도 이탈되어 있을 때 minimum energy conformation을 지님을 알았고 이는 NMR 분석결과와 잘 일치하였다. By means of NMR spectrum analysis of the synthesized MBBA and EBBA, it has been found that benzene rings of p-n-butylaniline in both MBBA and EBBA molecules do not conjugate with the central double bond and the benzene ring is twisted from molecular plane of N-(p-methoxy or ethoxy benzylidene) group. And as a result of MO studies, the minimum energy conformation is found for the conformation of $30^{\circ}$ twisted angle. One sees reasonable agreement between theory and experiment.

할라이드의 $S_N2$ 형 반응성에 미치는 술페닐, 술피닐 및 술포닐기의 효과에 대한 확장 Huckel 계산

확장 Huckel법을 사용하여 술페닐, 술피닐 및 술포닐기가 할라이드의 $S-N2$형 반응에 미치는 효과를 고찰하고 각종 반응성 지수를 비교, 검토한 결과 bond formation과정의 반응성 지수중 Frontier electron에 의한 것이 가장 합리적인 것임을 밝혔다. Extended Huckel calculations have been carried out to study the effect of sulfenyl, sulfinyl and sulfonyl groups on the reactivity of halides in $S-N2$ reactions. Results indicate that the most reasonable reactivity index is that based on the Frontier electron for the bond formation process.

Sweet Taste Mechanism of 1-Alkoxy-4-nitroaniline

반실험적인 양자역학 이론인 extended Huckel theory를 nitroaniline, 1-methoxy-4-nitroaniline과 1-ethoxy-4-nitroaniline에 적용하여 정량적으로 변화하는 sweetness기구를 구명코져 nitroaniline을 coplanar로 두고 ortho치환체의 geometrical rotation을 시켰을 때 charge density와 sweetness와의 상관관계를 설명하였다. A semiempirical molecular orbital theory which is known as extended H ckel theory is applied to explain the sweet taste mechanism of nitroaniline, 1-methoxy-4-nitroaniline, and 1-ethoxy-4-nitroaniline which has different sweetness respectively. In this paper, the assumption is made that the nitroaniline is coplanar. The relationship between charge density and sweetness has been calculated according to the geometrical rotation of the orthosubstitute of nitroanilines. It has been shown that the calculated results are consistent with the experimental order of the relative sweetness.

Remapping Cultural Configurations of Imagined Community in Toshio Mori’s Yokohama, California and Abraham Verghese’s My Own Country

Negotiations of Asian American community identity formations are a significant problematic in Asian American literature. My study traces the ways in which Asian American community is shaped by Asian American cultural productions and is concerned with how literature about Asian Americans informs community constructions along ethnicities, regions, occupations, gender, and sexual orientation. As more Asian Americans participate and become visible in American culture, ethnic identifications and configurations of Asian American communities become more diverse and fluid. Asian American communal affiliations are not simply formed around regional marginalization as the first Chinatowns were, but are also formed along commonalities of age, religions, class, gender, sexuality, professional identities, and political ideologies. While noting the importance of historically and geographically mapping Asian American communities to trace experiences of immigration and acculturation of Asians in America, I argue that the cultural constructions of such communities are determined and shaped by how Asian American literary narratives imagine them. In Toshio Mori’s Yokohama, California, I look at a literary representation of a mono-ethnic community. Mori recovers and fictionalizes a pre-WWII Japanese American community. His stories depict how the ethnic insularity of that community is complex, sheltering and stifling the independent creative and philosophical minds of writers. Abraham Verghese’s memoir My Own Country depicts a diasporic immigrant Asian American who in his everyday world negotiates identifications with multiple communities. While America has exercised an influence on Asia, in the late twenty-first century we are also seeing how Asia is re-imagining American culture and a mythic “America.”

A Study of Heroic Dimensions of D. Walcott’s Omeros and Deprived “Echoes” of the Past

This study examines the odyssey in search of humanity and unremitting Mobius strip of misery in Derek Walcott’s Omeros which portrays colonial wound metamorphosing into a healing upon the here and now of St. Lucia. The past, the present, and the future exist simultaneously in the time/space of Omeros, in which a collective understanding of the colonial past and its persisting legacies is possible. The present study focuses on delineating how the fragments of colonial wounds are reassembled upon this simultaneous time/space of the Caribbean. Walcott’s characters are humble but noble because they are willing to heal their trauma of colonial history and maintain their national identity or spirit. Their nobility comes from the painful knowledge learned from isolation and suffering. The wounds materialize into instances of “past-in-present,” which haunt the island and its inhabitants. However, Omeros refuses to reject the cultural/ historical legacies of colonialism or return to African origins. St. Lucia and the Caribbean islands are centralized where indigenized fragments of history have taken root in the landscape of the island.

A Comparative Study of the Turbulence of the Agenda of Repression and Domination and its Role Manifested in African Novel, Korean Movie and Novels The historical background of Buchi Emecheta's novel is very similar to that of Korean writers' novels. In particular, Emecheta presents the colonial and postcolonial history of Nigeria from an avowedly feminine perspective, thus calling attention to in the works of Korean writers. In both cultural and historical backgrounds, women are increasingly abused, manipulated and oppressed. They suffer from certain patriarchal aspects of both traditions, but they also undergo special difficulties that result from the difficult transition between the two that informs them contemporary historical context. Nevertheless they are able to assert their independence. The purpose of this paper is to compare the feminity and its role in both African and Korean literature. Like Korean writers, Emecheta's fiction grows out of many of the same events especially colonialism and its aftermath, although responds to these events from a slightly different point of view. Besides, both Korean writers and Emecheta also continue theme of oppression of women in traditional society and the modernization, especially in Emecheta, brought by colonialism introduces substantial complications into the picture that suggest certain potentially positive aspects of life in traditional society. Within the context of the oppression in traditional patriarchal society, both Korean writers and Emecheta explore the complex sexism in sensitive yet relatively accessible ways. Finally they also raise a number of fundamental questions about the role of women and the role of feminist criticism in the treatment of both literature.
