Recently, the automotive technology has developed with electronics and information technology as convergence technology while vehicles had been regarded as machines. Moreover, vehicles are becoming more intelligent and safer devices, assembly of advanced technologies by customers’ demand. Even though all of installations of vehicle have attracted as diverting devices, it cause drivers’ mistakes like delay of response on traffic condition. Here, we proposed the Field Operational Test (FOT) environment which could be used as driving and road conditions collector for researches about Driver Friendly Intelligent System, Human Vehicle Interface and Economic Drive Model. Tendencies of drivers were analyzed by measured data and driving workload of classified road.

Although economical vehicles are under development, the fuel economy is hardly carried out in case that driving pattern is not effient. Therefore, the method to lead economic driving is highlighted nowadays. In this study, we tested the vehicle installed with an algorithm, which guarantees the stability of a driver and vehicle on the curved road section and displays the relationship between vehicle speed and fuel economy on the climbing road section.

This paper is research about proactive safety and we have measured driver"s real time position of eye and head by using a camera settled in front of operator (driver) and a eye tracker equipment. Collected data were used to analyze a correlation between driver’s career and gender and its effect on driver’s behavior. Moreover, By calculating standard deviation figure (σ) of driver’s head behavior studied to represent how stable behavior depend on features driver has. This study results will be used to concrete an accident preventative education and be utilized as basic material for design system such as each different warning process following driver’s feature.

Even though you drive a fuel-efficient car, If it is not economical driving patterns, you difficult to get good fuel value. In this study, we demonstrated the economy driving pattern methods and effects in car uphill by analysing driving patterns of the actual drivers. As a first step, we classified the driving patterns of several drivers what drove gasoline and diesel vehicles on the same uphill course. In the second step, it analyzed the factors of economical driving by comparing the economical drivers and the uneconomical drivers driving patterns. Finally, we suggest the economical driving methods and explain those effects on the uphill course.

Here, we measured driving and road conditions using the Field Operational Test (FOT) environment and analyzed driving workload according to classified road. And we proposed modified EEG activity that is able to distinguish between straight road and curve road. This result can be used to research about Driver Friendly Intelligent System, Human Vehicle Interface and Economic Drive Model.
