염상섭의 인물 유형과 인물묘사방법론 - 『백구』를 중심으로 -

소설에서 서사에 비해 묘사는 덜 중요하게 여겨져 왔고 그 연구도 비교적 적다. 그러나 인물묘사방법은 서구에서는 15세기부터 관심을 가져온, 소설의 `진실성`에 더없이 중요한 개념이다. 인물묘사방법은 주제의식과도 관련될 수 있다. 이 글은 에니어그램에 의한 소설 등장인물 분석의 시론으로서 인물을 유형화하고 그 각각의 인물묘사방법 양상을 살펴보려는 목적을 가지고 있다. 에니어그램의 여러 유형으로 염상섭 『백구』의 인물들을 분석해 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 등장인물은 비교적 적으나 머리형, 가슴형, 장형 인물이 고르게 분포한다. 머리형에는 박영식, 조혜숙 등 사색가형 인물들을 들 수 있고 가슴형에는 원랑, 조종호 등을, 장형에는 유경호, 원랑 모친 등을 들 수 있다. 둘째, 염상섭 인물들은 반복되면서도 변화가 보인다. 1유형의 김병화 유형, 5유형의 조덕기 유형, 이필순 유형에서 그 반복을 볼 수 있고 사색가형 인물의 예처럼 큰 변화도 나타난다. 셋째, 남성 주인공상이 크게 변화하고 서사에서 사라지기도 한다. 조덕기 유형 인물들이 우유부단하고 자조적이며 모든 것에 무관심한 박영식으로 변화되는 것은 강점기 안정된 삶이 힘들다는 작가의 인식이 반영된다. 넷째, 인물묘사방법상 특징은 머리형 인물은 설명이나 내면묘사를 비롯하여 다양하게 묘사되고 가슴형 인물은 작가의 편들기가 많으며 본능형 인물들은 생략이 많거나 거의 없다는 것이다. 삼부작 속 신여성들은 이전의 신여성상에 비해 긍정적으로 그려지는 바, 『백구』에서 더욱 뚜렷해졌다. 다섯째, 염상섭 작품에서 에니어그램의 모든 인물이 고루 발달하지는 못하고 특정 유형으로 치우친다. 모든 일을 낙관적으로 보려 하며 밝고 명랑한 7유형 팔방미인형이나 혼란을 수습하고 좋은 환경을 만들어 가는, 평화주의자 9유형이 없다. 이것은 작가가 강점 하 시대상황을 바라보는 시각을 보여준다. This paper examines the types of characters by focusing on the personality types based on enneagram, and examines the characterization methods of each person. In novels, depiction is considered less important than narrative, and the research is relatively small. However, the method of portraying character(characterization) is an important concept in the `truthfulness` of the novel, which has attracted attention from the 15th century in the West. Direct definition or indirect presentation of person description methods are all related to the artist `s speech. Objective and realistic portrayal of characters can also be related to theme consciousness. As a result of analyzing the characters in various types of enneagram, First, the characters of Bekgu are evenly distributed in hair, chest, and long form. There are figures in the head type such as Park Young Sik and Jo Hye Sook. The chest type includes Wonrang and Jo, Jongho. There are Yoo Kyung-ho, mother-in-law and so on. Second, the characters appear repeatedly. 1 type of Kim Byung-hwa series, and 5 types of Jo deok-ki series. Third, the characters change in each type. Joe deok-ki → Lee Won-young → Park Young-sik, for example, is a specially-trained person. Fourth, there is a characteristic in the person description method. Hair figures are described in a variety of ways, including descriptions and inner descriptions. The chest type person has many sideways of the artist. The instinctive characters have many omissions or little descriptions. Fifth, all the characters of the enneagram were not developed well in Yeon Sang-Sup. There are four types of motivational types: seven types, eight types, and nine types of pacifists.

박화성 장편소설 인물묘사방법 연구 -'백화', '북국의 여명', '고개를 넘으면'을 중심으로 -

This study aims to understand the aspect of Park Hwa-seong 's thematic consciousness through the main character types and characterization of Park Hwa-seong's Baekhwa , Dawn of a Northern Country , and When You Cross the Hill . The characters in the works can be broadly divided into active young female Subjects and young male characters Supporters/Opponents. the parent's Supporters, First, the narrator intervenes in the character's description through direct explanations, praises, or meddling and evaluation, not only in the first feature. Second, Park Hwa-seong delicately descripted the character's appearance. She is interested in depicting women, bodies and clothes in a sensual and sophisticated way. Third, Externalization can be seen through the description of behavior and speech. Behavior descriptions show sensational features, and speech shows active/passive character. The character's interpersonal relationship gradually narrows. It seems that the reason why there is a lot of narrator intervention while gradually externalizing and indirect description is because of Park Hwa-seong's desire to convey the subject. 이 글은 장편소설 백화 , 북국의 여명 , 고개를 넘으면 주요 인물 유형과 그 묘사방법을 파악하여 박화성의 장편소설에 대한 인식 변화 과정을 파악하고자 한다. 작품 속 인물들을 적극적인 젊은 여성 주체와, 원조자나 대립자가 되는 젊은 남성 인물들로 크게 나눌 수 있다. 부모 세대 인물군도 들 수 있다. 이들은 미미한 위상이었다가 점차 원조자로 변화한다. 인물들을 구현하는 박화성 인물묘사방법 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서술자는 첫 장편인 백화 에서 고개를 넘으면 에 이르기까지 직접적인 설명이나 영탄, 혹은 참견과 평가 등의 방법으로 인물의 묘사에 개입한다. 둘째, 박화성은 시각화, 인물 외모 묘사에 어느 작가보다 공을 들인다. 감각적이고 세련된 방법으로 여성과 몸, 의상 묘사에 관심을 보였다. 이것은 박화성 고유의 특징이라 할 수 있다. 셋째, 행동과 말씨 묘사를 통한 외면화를 볼 수 있다. 행동 묘사는 선정적인 특징을 보이고 말씨는 성격의 적극성/소극성을 보여준다. 인물의 대인관계는 점차 좁아진다. 점차 외면화와 간접묘사를 많이 하면서도 서술자 개입이 많은 것은 작가 박화성의 주제 전달 욕망 때문이라고 보인다. 구체적 개성적 인물묘사방법은 실재성을 위한 문학적 장치이다. 동시대 작가 중에서도 탁월한 재능을 보인 박화성의 인물묘사방법 연구가 본격화하여 과거 통속작가로 고착된 박화성의 문학사적 의미가 온당히 자리매김되기를 바란다.

The article analyzes the portrayal of characters in Park Tae-won’s Well-dressed Woman by applying Greimas’s ‘Actantial model’ and the Enneagram ‘personality types’. Application of the Actantial Model, I can reveals Kim Cheol-soo as the protagonist and Yoon gi-jin as the antagonist. Classifying the characters by Enneagram type produced the following results: ‘the Subject’, Kim Cheol-soo, was type 6, ‘the Helpers’ were type 8 and 3, ‘the Opponent’ were type 4 and 7, and ‘the Receivers’ were various types including ‘the Subject’. This analysis reveals that ‘the Subject’, Kim Cheol-soo(Type 6), and ‘the Helper’, Choi Sook-Kyung(Type 3) are described in the most diverse ways. 문학예술에서 인물은 가장 중요한 위치를 차지한다. 본 연구는 그레마스의 ‘행위소 모형’과 에니어그램 ‘인물원형’을 적용하여 박태원 『여인성장』의 캐릭터를 분석하고 행위소-인물 유형별로 묘사되는 방식을 검토한 연구이다. 작품 내 주동인물과 반동인물의 대립이 뚜렷하지 않았는데, 그레마스의 행위소 모형을 통해 그를 확인할 수 있다. 행위소 모형의 주체-대상, 발령자-수령자 도식은 작품 주제의식을 확인하고 반동인물인 대립자를 확인하게 하기 때문이다. 또한 에니어그램에 의하여 작중 인물 유형을 분류한 결과 주체인 김철수는 6유형, 원조자들은 8유형과 3유형, 대립자들은 4유형과 7유형, 수령자는 주체를 비롯한 여러 유형들로 파악되었다. 유형별 인물묘사방법 고찰을 통해 주체인 김철수 6유형, 원조자 최숙경 3유형의 묘사가 가장 다각적으로 이뤄짐을 볼 수 있다. 아울러 김철수, 김현재 등 인물들 내면 묘사로써 주제의식이 구현되는 것을 통해 작가의 주제의식 구현과 인물 내면 묘사 간 관계도 확인할 수 있었다.

≪송서(宋書)≫의 인물묘사 기교와 방법 -<본기(本紀)>와 <열전(列傳)>을 중심으로

≪宋書≫(Song-Shu) has achieved relatively high performance in painting figures, of course not to mention ≪史記≫(Shi-Ji) or ≪漢書≫ (Han-Shu) in general, but to compare it with librarians such as ≪後漢書≫(Hou-Han-Shu) and ≪三國志≫(San-Guo-Zhi). ≪宋書≫(Song-Shu) recorded many figures from the Liu-Song period, especially the writing and writing of the four-legged figure are quite lively, and therefore valuable literary appreciation. Each kind of person has different characteristics in shaping and describing historical personas, and the type of persona is rich and has a great influence. The sentence of ≪宋書≫(Song-Shu) has been a great achievement in terms of the characters' language, with its simplicity, sophistication, and emphasis on style.
