The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of behavioral modification therapy among elementary students by comparing and analysing serum lipid between the experimental group and the control group on obese children. For this study, 44 obese children(boys: above 25% of % fat, girls: above 30% of % fat) between 11 and 12 years old S elementary school in Busan city were engaged in and were divided into two groups, each group consisting twenty two children an experimental group for behavioral modification therapy and a control group without any kind of obesity management program......

Objectives : To observe the effect of acupuncture treatment in chronic shoulder pain patients. Methods : 36 voluntary patients were randomly assigned to an acupuncture treatment group(E GrouP, n=18) and a control group(C GrouP, n=18). The E Group patients received acupuncture treatment on LI_(15), TE_(14), GB_(21) and Master Dong's acupuncture points, Shin-gwan and Gyun-joong, twice a week for four weeks. The C Group patients received no treatment. All patients in both groups were instructed to practise self exercise in their daily lives. Evaluations were made at baseline and after four weeks of study. The Constant Shoulder Assessment(CSA), Shoulder Pain and Disability Index(SPADI) and the patient's subjective pain was measured by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). The obtained data was analyzed. Results '. The E Group showed significant(p<0.05) improvement in CSA, SPADI and VAS after four weeks of treatment. The C Group showed significant(p<0.05) improvement in CSA, but the change of SPADI and VAS was insignificant(P>0.05). CSA and SPADI of E Group significantly(p<0.05) improved compared to the C GrouP, but the difference of VAS change in the two groups was insignificant(p>0.05). Conclusions : Four weeks of acupuncture treatment significantly improved CSA, SPADI and VAS. The improvement of CSA and SPADI was significant(p<0.05) compared to untreated patients.

The effects of Laminaria japonica fucoidan extract (LJFE) on the biochemical parameters of lipid-related function were investigated in liver and serum of CCl_(4)-treated rats. LJFE of 100 mg/kg concentration was intraperitoneally administered into rats at dose of 1.5 ml/kg for 14 days. On the day 15, 3.3 ml/kg of CCl_(4) dissolved in olive oil (1:1) was injected 12 hours before anesthetization. We examined the lipid-related functions and enzyme activitys by measuring the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum. The results showed that CCl_(4) treatment increased the high values of TG, LDH and ALP decreased the low values of TC but LJFE pretreatment decreased the high values of TG, LDH and ALP to the low values, increased the TC. It was suggested that LJFE can be used as the potential candidate for the lipid-metabolism natural supplement.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>As three-dimensional (3D) printing technology is emerging as an alternative way of manufacturing, the high resolution 3D printing device often requires systems such as drop jetting printing of <I>in situ</I> UV-curable photopolymers. Accordingly, the key issue is process control and its optimization to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, building orientation, and mechanical properties of printed structures, which are based on the time- and temperature-dependent glass transition temperature (<I>Tg </I>) of the resin system under UV-curing. In this study, the UV-cure kinetics and <I>Tg </I> development of a commercially available UV-curable acrylic resin system were investigated as a model system, using a differential scanning photocalorimeter (DPC). The developed kinetic model included the limited conversion of cure that could be achieved as a maximum at a specific isothermal curing temperature. Using the developed model, the <I>Tg </I> was successfully described by a modified DiBenedetto equation as a function of UV curing. The developed kinetic model and <I>Tg </I> development can be used to determine the 3D printing operating conditions for the overlay printing and <I>in situ</I> UV curing, which could ensure high-resolution and high-speed manufacturing with various UV-curing materials.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> UV-cure kinetic analysis were applied to a commercial Multi-jet 3D printing material. </LI> <LI> The developed kinetic model included the limited conversion of cure by temperature. </LI> <LI> The <I>Tg </I> was described by a modified DiBenedetto equation as a function of UV curing. </LI> <LI> The developed kinetic model showed an excellent agreement to isothermal experiments. </LI> <LI> The overlay printing time for each isothermal temperature was determined. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A partial electrolyte (PE) treatment was performed on the Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) absorber layer of thin film solar cells to improve the quality of its interface with the cadmium sulfide (CdS) buffer layer. During the treatment, indium oxides and carbonates were removed and the CIGS surface was effectively doped by cadmium incorporation onto the surface. These effects were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, x-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. The surface cleaning and doping substantially improved the quality of the CdS/CIGS interface, which resulted in an order of magnitude lower dark current and the 3.0% enhanced power conversion efficiency of the PE-treated CIGS thin film solar cells, as compared with those of a conventional solar cell fabricated without PE-treatment.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The as-grown CIGS was treated in partial electrolyte containing Cd2+ ions. </LI> <LI> The surface of PE-treated CIGS was effectively doped by the Cd incorporations. </LI> <LI> The dark current of the PE-treated device was highly reduced by the surface doping. </LI> </UL> </P>

<P>Shear is an effective method to create long-range order in micro- or nanostructured soft materials. When simple shear flow is applied, particles or polymer microdomains tend to align in the shear direction to minimize viscous dissipation; thus, transverse alignment (so-called log-rolling) is not typically favored. This is the first study to report the transverse alignment of cylinder-forming coil coil block copolymers. Poly(styrene-b-methyl methacrylate), PS PMMA, where the PS blocks form the matrix, can adopt a metastable PMMA hemicylindrical structure when confined in a thin film, and this hemicylindrical structure can orient either along the shear direction or transverse to the shear direction depending on the shearing temperature. A monolayer of PS PMMA forming full cylinders exhibits log-rolling alignment. This unusual log-rolling behavior is explained by the low chain mobility of the cylinder-forming PMMA block at low temperatures, which is direction of shear alignment. the critical quantity determining the</P>
