        내인성 혈장 리튬 농도와 정신분열병

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to compare endogenous plasma lithium concentrations among schizophrenic patients classified by DSM-IV subtype and control groups and to investigate the correlation of endogenous plasma lithium concentration and psychotic symptoms in schizophrenia. Methods : Schizophrenic patients were selected among psychiatric inpatients without lithium medication and then classified by DSM-IV schizophrenia subtype, Schizophrenic patient groups were composed of 15 disorganized type, 15 paranoid type and 15 undilferentiated type schizophrenic patients. The control group was composed of 15 healthy subjects without any psychiatric disease,Endogenous plasma lithium concentrations were estimated by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer. The psychotic symptoms in schizophrenic patients were classified as positive symptoms, negative symptoms and disorganized symptoms according to andreasen classificationl about SANS and SAPS items. Endogenous plasma lithium Con-centration among three subtypes of schizophrenia and control group was compared, and correlation between endogenous plasma lithium concentrations and psychotic symptoms was examined. Rcsults : 1) Schizoprenic patients showed higher endogenous plasma lithium concentration than control groups (p=0.033). Endogenous plasma lithium concentrations were significantly different among three subtypes of schizophrenia (p=0.001). Compared with the control group, disorganized type showed higher endogenous plasma lithium concentration, but paranoid type and undifferentiated type were not significantly different. 2) Disorganized symptoms correlated with endogenous plasma lithium concentration (r=0.416, P=0.004), but negative symptom and positive symptom did not significantly correlate with endogenous plasma lithium concentration (r=0.202, P=0.184. r= -0.216, P=0.155). Conclusion : These results suggested that schizophrenic patients with disorganized symptom show the differences in utilization or distribution of endogenous lithium.

        Sandblasted large grit, acid etched 표면처리에 따른 교정용 미니 임플랜트의 제거회전력에 관한 연구

        Sandblasted large grit, acid etched(SLA) 표면처리 된 교정용 미니 임플랜트와 평활면을 가진 교정용 미니 임플랜트 사이에 제거회전력과 조직학적 소견을 통해 표면처리된 교정용 임플랜트의 임상적 가능성에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 실험재료로는 길이가 9.5 mm, 외경이 1.8 mm인 custom made, screw shaped, titanium implants가 사용되었다. 미니 임플랜트는 두개의 군으로 분류되었는데 SLA군은 20개의 SLA 표면처리된 미니 임플랜트이었고, 평활면군은 크기와 형태가 같지만 SLA처리공정이 생략되어 제작된 20개의 미니 임플랜트로 구성되었다. 이들은 10마리 가토의 경골에 식립되었다. 각각의 가토의 우측 경골에는 SLA군의 미니 임플랜트 2개가 식립되었고, 좌측 경골에는 평활면군의 미니 임플랜트 2개가 식립되었다. 각 군에는 식립 직후 Ni-Ti coil spring에 의해 약 150 g의 지속적인 견인력이 주어졌다. 식립 6주 후에 10마리의 가토를 희생하였고, 안정된 상태에서 Ni-Ti coil spring을 제거하였으며 digital torque gauge를 이용하여 제거 회전력을 측정하였다. 식립 6주 후에 SLA군의 경우 (8.29 Ncm) 평활면군 (3.34 Ncm)에 비해 더 높은 평균 제거회전력을 나타내었고 조직학적 소견에서도 screw 하방에서의 신생골 형성이 관찰되었다. SLA 표면처리된 미니 임플랜트는 평활면 미니 임플랜트에 비해 좀 더 강한 교정력에 저항할 수 있을 것으로 예상되었다. Objective: The purposes of this study were to evaluate the differences between sand blasted, large grit and acid-etched (SLA) treated mini-implants and smooth surface orthodontic mini-implants in relation to the removal torque as well as the histologic analysis. Methods: Custom-made, screw-shaped, titanium implants with a length of 9.5 mm and an outer diameter of 1.8 mm were divided into 2 groups; the SLA group (20 SLA treated orthodontic mini-implants) and the smooth surface group (20 smooth surface mini-implants), and placed in the tibia metaphysis of 10 rabbits. Each rabbit had 4 mini-implants placed, 2 in each tibia. The right tibia were implanted with the SLA group mini-implants and the left tibia had the smooth group mini-implants placed. Each mini-implant group were immediately applied with a continuous traction force of 150 g using a Ni-Ti coil spring. The rabbits were sacrificed 6 weeks post-surgically. Subsequently, the legs were stabilized, the Ni-Ti coil springs were removed and the mini-implants were removed under reverse torque rotation with a digital torque gauge. Results: 6 weeks after placement, the SLA group presented a higher mean removal torque value (8.29 Ncm) than the smooth group (3.34 Ncm) and histologic analysis revealed a higher new bone formation aspect along the screw in the SLA group. Conclusion: Results of this study indicates that SLA treated mini-implants may endure higher orthodontic forces without loosening.

        TiO_2 光觸媒를 利用한 Diazinon의 光分解에 관한 硏究

        Considerable interest has been shown in recent years towards utilizing TiO_2 particles as a photocatalyst in the degradation of harmful organic contaminants. In this study, photocatalytic degradation of diazinon which is extensively used as a pesticide in the agriculture field, has been investigated with UV-illuminated TiO_2 in aqueous suspension as a function of the following different experimental parameters : initial concentration of diazinon, TiO_2 weight, UV wavelength, pH of the solution. Photodegradation rate increased with decreasing initial concentration of diazinon and with increasing pH of the solution. Photodegradation rate increased with increasing TiO_2 weight, but was nearly the same at TiO_2 weight of 1 g/ℓ , 2 g/ℓ , i.e., for initial diazinon concentration of 5 ㎎/ℓ . UV wavelength affecting on the degradation rate of diazinon decreased in the order of 254 nm > 312 nm > 365 nm. For TiO_2 weight of 1 g/ℓ and initial diazinon concentration of 5 ㎎/ℓ , the photodegradation removal of diazinon was 100% after 130 min in the case of 254 nm, but 95% in the case of 312 nm, and 84% in the case of 365 nm, after 180 min. The photodegradation of diazinon followed a first order or a pseudo-first order reaction rate. For initial diazinon concentration of 5 ㎎/ℓ , the rate constants(k) in UV and TiO_2(1g/ℓ )/UV system were 0.006 min^-1 and 0.0252 min^-1 at 254 nm, 0.0055 min^-1 and 0.0104 min^-1 at 312 nm, and 0.004 min^-1 and 0.0092 min^-1 at 365 nm respectively.

      • 치아미백제의 미백효과에 관한 연구

        Human teeth vary widely in color. Practitioner and patients are concerned with preventing and correcting discolored or dark teeth to achieve and maintain stain-free, white teeth. Tooth brushing cannot after tooth color but it can remove adherent films and stains. Esthetics of natural dentition can be improved by bleaching and this process can be applied to intrinsically and extrinsically stained teeth. The need for a brighter, more attractive smile has made rapid growth in the marker for tooth whiteners. There is no doubt these products work as whiteners, at least on mild to moderate stains, but the safety of these products are unclear. In this experiment, the effect of tooth whitener application on the color of extracted human enamel was measured. RMS, RMT and NWT were used as tooth whiteners, and tooth paste(ETQ) and hydrogen peroxide solution(HPO) were used as controls. 35 caries-free extracted human molars were embedded and polished with the exposed enamel diameter of 4 mm. The tooth whiteners and control agents were according applied to the manufacturers' instructions of clinically simulated procedures for eight weeks, and measurements were repeated every two weeks. CLELAB color difference(ΔE^*) was measured using Differential Colorimeter(Model TC-6FX, Denshoku Co., Japan). The results were are follows ; 1. After application of tooth whiteners and controls for eight weeks, the color change of all groups were not significantly different from each other (p>0.01). But after application of agents for 2 weeks and four weeks, the color difference of NWT applied group and HPO applied group were significantly higher than those of others(p<0.01). 2. The application of tooth paste and paste type tooth whitener made gradual color change, but hydrogen peroxide gel type whitener and hydrogen peroxide solution made rapid color change during initial application period.

        TiO₂/UV공정을 이용한 수중 MTBE의 광분해 특성

        The objective of this study is to delineate removal efficiency of the MTBE in solution by TiO₂ photocatalytic degradation as a function of the following different experimental conditions : Initial concentration of MTBE, air flow rate in solution, H₂O₂ dosage and pH of the solution. Photodegradation rate was increased with decreasing initial concentration of MTBE. The removal efficiency was 82% after 180 min in the case of MTBE concentration of 100 mg/L but 100% after 180 min in the case of 20 mg/L. Removal efficiency was increased with increasing pH, H₂O₂ dosage and air flow rate in solution.

        광촉매를 이용한 Humic Acid 광분해시 공존물질이 광분해에 미치는 영향

        This study aimed at improving the TiO₂ photocatalytic degradation of HA. A set of tests was first conducted in the dark to study the adsorption of HA at different coexisting material concentration. Adsorption rate increased with adding cation ion but decreased with adding bicarbonate ion. The photodegradation of HA in the presence of UV irradiation was investigated as a function of different experimental condition : initial concentration of HA, TiO₂ weight, pH, air flow rate and coexisting material. It was increased either at low pH or by adding cation ion. The increase of cation strength in aqueous solution could provide a favorable condition for adsorption of HA on the TiO₂ surface and therefore enhance the photodegradation rate. It was found that bicarbonate ions slowed down the degradation rate by scavening the hydroxyl radicals.

        알코올 사용과 스트레스와의 관련성

        Objectives : This study was designed to assess the relationship between alcohol use and stress. Methods : The study subjects were 1,261 people who drink among the 2,565 people who lived in Gangneung. We investigated the sociodemographic characteristics, Short Form-12 (SF-12), Global Assessment of Recent Stress (GARS) and Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT). Results : In Problem drinking group the GARS was significantly positively associated with the AUDIT (p=0.02). In Social drinking group sex (p<0.001) and age (p=0.02) is significantly associated with the AUDIT. Conclusion : This study showed the significantly positively association between stress and alcohol use. We think that the intervention and active management of the stress can prevent the alcohol problem.

        In this paper, a CMOS current-mode integrator adequate to design low-voltage, low-power and high frequency application circuit. The designed current-mode integrator has a new architecture that is simple. When the designed integrator is compared with typical current-mode integrator, the new integrator has lower power dissipation, lower chip size and higher frequency range. The results of PSPICE simulation using ORBIT company's 1.2㎛ CMOS n-well processing parameter shows that 1.2mW power dissipation for 3.3V power supply.

        파킨슨씨병 환자에 있어서 자가부신수질 이식술

        Recent experimental studies and clinical cases have suggested that grafting tissue from the adrenal medulla into the brain may alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Autologous adrenal medullary grafts into the striatum was performed stereotactically in two patients with Parkinson's disease. Both patients were bedridden preoperatively, but 4 months after the surgery both became ambulatory and one was even capable of returning to his job. Even though the number of cases was small⑵ and the follow-up period was short, this study shows that adrenal medullary transplantation into the striatum may have some beneficial effects in patient with Parkinson's disease. Further experimental and clinical trials are necessary to see whether this procedure will be a recommendable surgical treatment for patients suffering from Parkinson's disease.
