국방분야 실감미디어 기술에 대한 고찰과 국방 교육훈련 분야에서의 활용방안

Social distancing and rapid changes to a non-face-to-face society due to COVID-19 have brought about a major paradigm shift in military education and training. There are many difficulties in conducting practical training, such as a non-face-to-face environment; financial problems; and mock execution, reduction, or cancellation of large-scale maneuver training in preparation for actual combat. Under Defense Innovation 4.0, the Army Tiger concept is being developed to foster a strong science and technology force based on manned and unmanned combat systems. However, it may weaken national defense capability in the long run. Faced with this reality, this study analyzed augmented reality and metaverse technologies, which were proposed to solve the problems contemplated by the United States, and analyzed the current military training. Moreover, future plans to apply these technologies to the current education and training system and their expected effects are presented.
국방 분야에서 인공지능 기술 활용실태와 XAI 기술 활용방향 제시

Technological advances in machine learning are progressing in many fields, such as image processing, anomaly detection, data classification, and reinforcement learning. In particular, the military can use artificial intelligence technology to quickly intelligentize and automate data generated on the battlefield at the command post, where the data is analyzed and delivered to the weapon system in real time to perform missions. However, in the current AI technology, it is not clear what information is derived from the input data, which is very important in a situation where the decision of the commander is important in the defense field. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the problems of artificial intelligence technology currently being developed in the military, find out the policy basis of the XAI technology developed by DARPA in the United States, and suggest a way to utilize artificial intelligence technology in our military.
재난안전통신망의 네트워크 활용과 단말기 신호를 이용한 측위 기술 연구

A disaster safety communication network is a network that provides a network to terminals by temporarily building a base station in a place where a base station is impossible in the event of a disaster. However, in the case of disaster areas, it is difficult to receive a GPS signal if the building collapses or in mountainous terrain. Without location information, it is difficult to determine the location of people in the disaster area, and even if communication with the base station is available, it is difficult to rescue them. In this paper, to solve this problem, we propose a model in which an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with the network technology provided by the existing PS-LTE receives the signals from the terminals and calculates the location by TDoA. In the proposed model, the unmanned aerial vehicle flies in a circle and receives signals, and as a result of the performance evaluation, the location of terminals located within a 2km radius can be estimated.
미래 대대급 전술 네트워크 구축을 위한 5G 기반 네트워크 활용방안

In the future battlefield environment is changing into the circumstance where uncertain threats are scattered due to the development of weapon systems and the increase of electronic devices. In particular, in the military, surveillance information and various information occurring at the front line must be quickly and accurately transmitted to the command post. Therefore, changes in the battlefield environment and the technology development requires high-level networking capabilities of the post. In this paper, we explain the capabilities of the current battalion network technology and present a plan to utilize 5G technologies required by the military by introducing 5G network in the future network. Using the proposed network, the command post can perform mission tasks stably. Also it can significantly shorten the time to make decisions. In addition, commanders and combatants can share a variety of information from the front line in real-time to ensure reliable mission performance through accurate recognition of battlefield situations, and the use of command posts incorporating beyond 5G communication technologies will also be proposed in this paper through them it will gain capabilities to dominate the battlefield over the enemy.
사이버전 환경 하 ADS-B 신호를 이용한 무인기 상태 분류기법

In the future of cyber warfare, as the make use of UAVs increases, a number of UAVs malicious cyber attacks can accur frequnetly. In this environment, UAVs have been attacked by cyber attacks may crash or be captured and collide with other aircraft. In this paper the integrity of UAV is detected by verifying the data messages using ADS-B system. Through the proposed scheme, it is determined whether or not UAV have been attacked by cyber attacks and a classification method for what type of attack is provided. At the ground control station where the ADS-B receiver is installed, it receives signals from UAVs with ADS-B transmitters, calculates location information using periodic signals based on TDoA, and compares them with GPS signals. Also, the status information of UAV is classified through the status information in ADS-B message. Through the proposed scheme, it will contribute to the cyber attack judgment and safe tracking of the control center in the operation of the UAV.
