        This experiment was carried out to measure the elimination effect of nitrate nitrogen from green tea extracts through the column system filled with charcoal activated and bamboo charcoal powder compare to that of an nitrate nitrogen standard solution prepared with KNO3 chemicals. The change patterns of pH, and the amount of removed nitrate nitrogen from green tea and nitrate nitrogen standard solution were analyzed according to time course and the amount of charcoal treatments. The results were summarized as follow: 1. pH The pH of Green tea extractions treated with charcoal was high up to 8.17(after 30min treated with 0.4% charcoal) and 8.36(after 60min with 0.4% charcoal) which pH of non-treated green tea (control) was 5.8 The results indicated that the pH values were variable to the treated amount of charcoal and the teated time course. 2. Nitrate nitrogen From the nitrate nitrogen standard solution, the least rate 69.1% and the highest rate 74.5% of nitrate nitrogen were observed to be absorbed through the column treatment (60 min), which with green tea extract solution 21.3% (the least) and 43.8% (the highest) were detected to be absorbed through column treatment (after 60min with 0.4% charcoal). In the case of bamboo treatments with nitrate nitrogen solution samples were showed the least rate 62.8% (30min with 0.1% bamboo) and the highest rate 68.9% (60min with 0.4% bamboo), and with green tea extract solution were observed the least 13.6 (30min with 0.1% bamboo) the highest rate 29.4% (60min with 0.4% bamboo). In general, the elimination activity of nitrate nitrogen was higher by the charcoal activated powder treatment than bamboo charcoal.

      • 실신으로 발현된 기립성빈맥증후군 : 단일 기관 예비 연구

        Background and Objectives : Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is characterized by excessive tachycardia without prominent hypotension in the upright position. Most of the patients experience symptoms of orthostatic intolerance such as lightheadedness, dizziness, palpitation, nausea, or headache. There were limited POTS cases presenting as syncope thus, we analyzed syncope patients who showed orthostatic tachycardia in tilt table test. Methods : A single center retrospective analysis was done for patients with POTS who developed syncope. We reviewed their clinical records and results of autonomic function tests (sympathetic skin response, heart rate variability test to hyperventilation, heart rate variability test to Valsalva maneuver, 15:30 ratio and blood pressure and heart rate response to tilt table test). Results : There were 13 patients of POTS with syncope. Mean age of onset was 22.3 (14-38) years old. Men were eight and women were five. In autonomic function tests, mean orthostatic heart rate increments were 35.2 beats per minutes (bpm). Mean maximal heart rate within 10 minutes and the time for maximal heart rate were 99.9 (87-128) bpm and 7 minutes, respectively. Mean systolic blood pressure was not changed significantly during tilt table tests but, mean diastolic blood pressure was increased as much as 14.4 (±8.0) mmHg compared with supine position. Conclusions : POTS patients who manifested assyncopal attack showed similar patterns in clinical characteristics and autonomic function tests compared with ordinary POTS reported previously. These suggest that syncope can be one of the leading features of POTS. This preliminary study suggests that structured and controlled studies about POTS and syncope are needed.

        鼻毛의 白毛發生에 의한 年齡推定

        The gray vibrissae of Korean males(n= 189) between 15 and 75 years old and females(n=111) between 15 and 74 years old whop visited the department of otorhinolaryngology, Konkuk university Chungju hospital during 1996 to 1998, were counted for the purpose of estimating approximate age range in individuals of unknown age. The lowest age appearing gray hairs in both sexes was 15-year-old. The Pearson's correlation coefficient in both sexes was 0.490 (p<0.01). The age appearing gray vibrissae in females was slightly earlier than that of males, however, the differences between right and left sides of nasal cavity were insignificant. This method of counting gray vibrissae would be useful to estimate age range in personal identification together with other methods available until now.

        To improve attrition resistance, calcium oxide was added to durable ZZF sorbent. It was named ZZFCa sorbent. The reactivity of ZZFCa sorbent was investigated in the fluidized-bed reactor. The influencesof the sulfur capacity and the regeneration time for various fluidization velocities from 0.07㎧ to 0.20㎧ were investigated for 5-cycles. As a result, ZZFCa sorbent appeared the high sulfur capacity abouve 10gS/100g sorbent. The sulfur capacity of ZZFCa was maintained, although fluidization velocities increased.

      • 상악 제1소구치의 교두각에 따른 전부도재관의 응력분포에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to know stress distribution of ceramic crown according to the cusp angle. For the study, it was manufactured a three dimensional finite element model simplified maxillary first premolar, and then analyzed stress distribution when cusp angle was each 80°, 90°, l00°, 110° and 120°. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The von Mises stress showed that stress decreases as cusp angle increases in the central groove of the occlusal surface. 2. It showed that maximum principal stress was centered at the region of the central groove of the occlusal surface and a region which the force was inflicted. And also it appeared high on the lingual and buccal side of finish line. 3. The X axis of normal stress was focused in the central groove of the occlusal surface. The Y axis of normal stress appeared high in the central groove of the occlusal surface, b u d and lingual side. 4. The stress near the finish line showed a low value compared with stress in the region of the central groove of the occlusal surface. 5. It showed that the most dangerous angle for tooth fracture was on 80° of the cusp angle and low on 120° of its.

      • CBE(chemical beam epitaxy)로 성장한 l.lum 파장대를 가지는 InGaAsP의 PR(photoreflectance) 특성연구

        InGaAsP with 1.1㎛ wavelength was grown by chemical beam epitaxy (CBE). Pure arsine (AsH₃) and phosphine(PH₃) gases were used as group V sources. For the group Ⅲ Sources, TEGa, TMIn were used. InGaAsP epilayer was grown on SI-InP substrate and has a l-㎛ thick. We investigated characteristics of InGaAsP using photoreflectance(PR) and photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy. From PR measurement, the signal of InGaAsP shows well-defined Franz-Keldysh oscillation (FKO) whose peaks provide energy gap. The energy gap of InGaAsP has been a good agreement with the peak energy of PL.

        In recent years, numerical simulation of human body motion has received an increasingly wider range of application. Computer simulations have greatly contributed to the understanding of kinematics and dynamics of human motion. Such simulations are being used in ergonomics to better understand and thus improve the interaction of persons with machines and with workplace configurations. In sports, the simulations are being used to optimize performance, to develop equipment for injury prevention, and to speed and enhance recovery from injury. Then in this study simulated one arm curl motion for understanding force and moment in arm's each joint, and this segment modeling was used 2-dimension, 3-link system. From simulation of mathematica 3.0 we found kinematic and kinetic factors with imaginatively lift of dumbbell and simulated random value of the last curl angle, weight of dumbbell, cycle of motion and so on. The conclusions of this study is as follows ; 1. As this study link system, weight of dumbbell influence not a stance and motion but magnitude of force and moment. 2. The force showed even as smooth curve in all cycle. Moment showed biggist between 0.5sec and 1.5sec. The magnitude order is shoulder, elbow and wrist joint. 3. Motion of system in this study is very similar human arm's motion considering that law of inertia and helped effectively delegation of force. 4. Mathematica is useful language as simulation program. Forward it needs study about modeling and simulation on muscle factors, also human body simulation.

        Tourism matters must be related to moral issues. Goals of tourism ethics education for Students specialize in Tourism are to relate tourism matters to moral issues, to recognize issues in tourism that have ethical implications, to develop a sense of moral obligation or responsibility, to develop the abilities needed to deal with ethical conflicts stage for a change in ethical behavior, appraise and understand the history and composition of all aspects tourism ethics and their relationship to the general field of ethics. Education for tourism needed to be redesigned by introducing new interactive methods of learning to the traditional approaches to methods, this study suggest some instructional methods-discussion, role-play, literature or fiction, nonfiction, video tapes and its pratice for tourism ethics education.
