        Roll-to-roll preparation of silver-nanowire transparent electrode and its application to large-area organic light-emitting diodes

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Silver-nanowires (AgNWs) transparent electrodes were successfully fabricated on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film substrate by roll-to-roll processes. The AgNWs were embedded in a polymer resin so that the surface was flat enough to fabricate organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) without an additional surface planarization. For the fabrication of the embedded AgNWs electrodes, a polyimide film was utilized as an AgNWs-carrying film to realize a roll-to-roll process for the first time. Large-area OLEDs were then deposited directly on the embedded AgNWs electrodes by a roll-to-roll vacuum deposition process. The OLEDs with the embedded AgNWs electrodes on a PET film showed 30–40% better performance than those with commercial indium-tin-oxide electrodes on glass substrates. The surface roughness, sheet resistance, and optical transmittance of the embedded AgNWs electrodes on a PET film were around 3 nm, 5 Ω/square, and 85%, respectively. The sheet-resistance uniformity of the embedded AgNWs electrode was higher than 90% in 15 cm × 45 cm area.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A new roll-to-roll fabrication process of embedded AgNWs electrode is proposed. </LI> <LI> The process can produce large-area and high-performance AgNWs electrode on plastic film. </LI> <LI> Large-area flexible OLED is demonstrated using the embedded AgNWs electrode film. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        중년여성들의 콘서트 관람이 여가생활과 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향

        Purpose - Participating concerts could be one of the effective leisure activities among middle-aged women who suffered from dramatic biological, psychological and environmental changes in their lives. In this line, the objective of this research was to explore the impacts of participating concerts on the leisure and lives of middle-aged women Design, data, and methodology -Qualitative research methodology, in-depth interview in particular, was utilized to achieve the purpose of this study. Respondents were recruited during a joint concert of two semi-classic vocal groups, Forte Di Quattro and Forestella, held at Auditorium, BEXCO during 16-17 June in 2018. Data was collected from August to November, 2018 after the concert who showed willingness to be interviewees through phone or face-to-face interviews. Result - The findings of this study showed that watching concerts played significant roles in expending leisure horizons and improving the mental health of the participants. Concert participation impacted positively not only on leisure satisfaction but also life satisfaction of the interviewees after all. Conclusions - The results offered some insights into the effects of concert participation on changes in life in the context of the leisure. Theoretically, this study verified relationships between not only leisure activities and life satisfaction, but also understanding lives of middle-aged women.

        설화의 서사적 질문과 반응을 활용한 자전적 글쓰기의 과정과 의의 -MMSS 자기서사진단지를 활용한 대학 교양글쓰기 수업의 사례를 중심으로-

        본 논의는 대학의 교양교육 중 ‘자전적 글쓰기’ 교과목에서 문학치료이론을 활용하여 자기서사를 탐구하는 사례연구를 제시해 보고자 했다. 먼저 핵심사연에서 촉발된 나에 대한 부정적 감정을 이름으로 명명하며, 그 감정을 반복하게 되는 경험들을 생각해 보게 했다. 자전적 글쓰기의 과정을 통해, 자신을 이해하며 자기서사를 조정하고 확충할 교육방법으로 문학치료학의 MMSS 자기서사 진단지(Magic Mirror of Story-in-depth of Self, 내 안의 심층서사를 비춰주는 마법의 거울)의 서사적 질문에 대한 반응을 활용했다. MMSS의 서사적 질문들은 자기서사를 진단하는 동시에, 설화의 대립자질이 생성하는 삶에 대한 의구심을 품게 하는 서사적 기능도 있다고 보고, 이를 활용해 자기서사의 길내기를 대학생들 스스로 해보는 자전적 글쓰기를 시도하였다. MMSS에 있는 설화의 서사적 질문으로 조응된 구체적 경험을 서술하게 한 후, 대학생들이 많은 분포를 보였던 삶의 문제 중의 하나인 ‘서열화된 입시경쟁으로 인해 낮은 자존감을 형성’하게 되었던 사례를 통해, 자전적 글쓰기로 어떻게 자기서사를 조정하며 성장했는지 구체적 과정을 제시했다. 사례자들은 설화의 서사적 질문에 대한 자신의 반응을 활용한 자전적 글쓰기의 과정을 통해 자기서사를 이해하고, 관계에서 상처받았던 당시의 부정적 감정으로 자존감이 낮아졌던 기억의 배열을 넘어서, 자신이 추구하고자 하는 설화 속 인물로 자신의 인지 기제를 바꿔 갈 수 있는 ‘상징적 자아상’을 획득할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 삶을 스스로 결정해 가는 긍정적 경험으로 자기서사를 확충해 가는 서사적 길을 내었다는 점에서 설화의 반응을 활용한 자전적 글쓰기의 의의를 논할 수 있었다. This paper presents a case study to explore the self-s using literary therapy theory through “autobiographical writing” in liberal arts classes at universities. First, the supervisor asked the students to give a name to their emotions that are triggered by the key story. They were then asked to think about the patterns that led to those emotions. As an educational method to understand oneself through autobiographical writing and to adjust and expand the self-narrative, the responses to the narrative questions were examined using the Magic Mirror of Story-in-depth of Self (MMSS) self-narrative diagnostic paper for literature therapy. The students then attempted autobiographical writing to make their own narrative roads. After having them describe the specific experiences caused by the folktale narrative questions in the MMSS, this article analyzed through specific cases of how college students grew up by adjusting the self-narrative pattern that formed low self-esteem due to ranked entrance exam competition. This, which has been a major problem in the lives of many college students. Through the folktale questions, the participants in autobiographical writing went beyond the arrangement of memories in which their self-esteem fell due to the emotions at the time when they were hurt in a relationship. It was also there when they acquired a symbolic self-image as the folktale character whom they wanted to pursue. This writing method is meaningful in that they understood and expanded their narratives as positive experiences in which they decided their lives on their own.

        L2 Writers’ Engagement and Needs for Teacher Written Feedback: A Case of a Korean College English Composition Class

        As a relatively under-researched area, the present study focused on L2 writers’ reactions to teacher written feedback in a comprehensive way. Specifically, multidimensional student engagement involving behavioral, affective, and cognitive reactions and student needs for teacher commentary were examined through a triangulation of data collection. As a case study, the present study examined a real-world practice of teacher feedback provided in an authentic English composition class in South Korea. One native English teacher and 13 Korean college students participated in this study. This paper first describes the types of teacher written comments according to the intent, linguistic features, text specificity, and the presence of hedges. Then, it examines the students’ uptake in the subsequent revision by the feedback types, attitudinal responses and cognitive processing, and their wishes for the kind of teacher written feedback they would like to receive. The results revealed that content-related comments dominated in the teacher’s end comments, whereas a majority of the marginal notes addressed linguistic features. However, in the students’ revision process, the grammar-related marginal comments were often ignored due to changes in content by the teacher’s end comments. In addition, characteristic patterns for emotional and cognitive engagement and students’ actual needs were observed. Based on the results, pedagogical implications are suggested.

        Cross-linguistic Differences of Temporal Information Processing Between L1 and L2 in Narrative Text Comprehension: An Eye-Tracking Study

        The present study investigated cross-linguistic differences of temporal information processing between Korean as L1 and English as L2 in narratives. The study was based on the event-indexing model, which is one of the situation models in text comprehension. Recognizing that temporal information processing differs in Korean and English reading depending on the temporal shift markers such as a moment later, an hour later, and a day later, this study sought to explain the cause of the differences. An eye-tracking experimental method was employed for a closer investigation. The examination focused on the temporal shift markers and the subsequent critical event information contained in the target sentence. Measures of eye-dwell time for the respective information included the first pass gaze duration, the regressions into the information, and the second pass gaze duration. The results indicated that a significant difference between L1 and L2 occurred in the processing of the temporal shift markers. While L1 readers read the temporal information gradually slower as the distance of the temporal shift increased, L2 readers read the temporal marker of an hour later the slowest. The results supported that the processing of temporal information differs between L1 and L2, and that L2 proficiency is a crucial variable for L2 successful situation model construction.

        Use of signifiers in discourse on the derivative in Korean and English speaking mathematics classroom

        Based on the observation that there is a common signifier “derivative” in English used for both the derivative at a point and the derivative function and that there are two phonetically and semantically different signifiers for those objects in Korean, we explored potential differences in classroom teaching discourses aimed to teach canonic mathematical discourses about the mathematical objects that those terms signify and their relations in Korean and English. Our analysis of one Korean teacher’s and one American teacher’s classroom discourse about the derivative using the commognitive approach uncovered differences in their teaching discourse in terms of addressing metarules about the terms and connections to colloquial discourse that exist in English, but not in Korean. We also found differences in how the American teacher made connections between the derivative at a point and the derivative function and how the Korean teacher connected the two signifiers in Korean - the American teacher extended a realization of the first defined object to define the second object, and after that, made shifts in a way that precludes simultaneous use of the common signifier for both objects whereas, in Korean teacher’s discourse, no extensions were observed and the first defined object gained additional realizations.

      • Fitness Center Environment Color Scheme for Women

        With the increase in women`s social lives and the increase in single-person households, interest in the leisure activities of women has increased, and the interest in health and exercise has been changed from quantity to quality. Now, a fitness center should be developed into a venue for members to feel emotions, get along together, and enjoy life, escaping from the concept of the space for exercise and sports. The most important thing we must provide and change for this is a facility environment. This requires diversification of exercise facilities, an introduction of additional functions, the provision of an appropriate atmosphere, and the establishment of an appropriate color plan. The purpose of this study is to plan the color of the fitness center for women and to aim for the best exercise environments.
