Optimized low-temperature fabrication of WO<sub>3</sub> films for electrochromic devices

<P>We investigated the effect of process conditions on the electrochromic (EC) properties of tungsten trioxide (WO<SUB>3</SUB>) films. When WO<SUB>3</SUB> films deposited using a sol-gel method were thermally treated in air at 150 °C, the majority of tungsten species in the films became W<SUP>6+</SUP>, which is important for the realization of an optically transparent bleached state. On the other hand, annealing in a vacuum required only 60 °C to induce a similar level of W<SUP>6+</SUP> in the WO<SUB>3</SUB> films. However, a cracked film morphology was observed at higher temperatures, regardless of whether the films were annealed in air or vacuum. Using the WO<SUB>3</SUB> films prepared under various conditions, EC devices (ECDs) were fabricated to evaluate EC properties. We concluded that the optimal annealing conditions for WO<SUB>3</SUB> films for ECDs are 60 °C in vacuum, at which the highest coloration efficiency, largest transmittance difference, and fastest bleaching/coloration dynamics were obtained. These mild fabrication conditions at a low temperature (60 °C) provide the opportunity to utilize flexible electrodes on plastic. Therefore, we successfully demonstrated a flexible WO<SUB>3</SUB>-based ECD.</P>
Transposition Flap for Cutaneous Lesion Coverage in Dermatomyositis

Dermatomyositis (DM) is an autoimmune inflammatory myopathy with some cutaneous manifestations. We present the case of a patient with a bone-depth skin ulceration on the elbow that was well healed with a transposition flap using a dorsal interosseous artery perforator. A 56-year-old man reported difficulties when climbing stairs and diffuse pain of unclear origin throughout his body that started 2 months previously. The patient was diagnosed with DM, and the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery was consulted for the management of an ulcerative skin lesion on the left elbow. The dorsal interosseous artery was first detected by vascular Doppler ultrasonography, and a transposition flap was designed including the pedicle. The flap was transposed to cover the bone exposure over the olecranon. At 4 weeks postoperatively, complete healing of the wound was observed without complications, and the patient had full range of motion of the elbow without pain. Despite major developments in the medical treatment of DM, ulcerative cutaneous lesions remain difficult to treat. Our experience suggests that the use of a transposition flap including the dorsal interosseous artery is suitable for the treatment of ulcerative lesions around the elbow in DM patients.
Ulcerative Skin Metastasis Lesion in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Venous ulcers, ischemic wounds and skin lesions from autoimmune diseases are some examples of unhealing wounds. Practitioners treating such wounds should consider the possibility of skin metastasis of neoplasms, especially in patients with cancer. Treatment of cutaneous metastasis in cancer must include both surgical resection and chemotherapy. Here we present a patient who had lung cancer with skin metastasis. Though incidence of metastasis from lung cancer is known to be as low as 1% to 12%, its prognosis is poor. Also, the clinical features of these skin lesions tend to vary, often resulting in them being misdiagnosed as benign lesions. The diagnosis of malignancy for this particular case was delayed. After the metastatic lesion was diagnosed as such, surgical resection was performed and the defect caused by wide excision was covered by a superior gluteal artery perforator flap. Though the patient was administered an anticancer drug, the wound healed well after the operation.

The concern on the greenhouse gas emissions is increasing globally. Especially, the greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue from the Paris Climate Change Accord in 2015. Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 4.8% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries rarely carried out consistently. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is necessary as a first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries. The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted from the major offshore fisheries such as offshore gillnet fishery, offshore longline fishery, offshore jigging fishery and anchovy drag net fishery. Here, we calculated the GHG emissions from the fisheries using the Life Cycle Assessment method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for the LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the unit weight of fishes are calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas as well. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries
차량용 임베디드 제어기에서 Power on Reset 발생 시 정보 수집 방법

본 논문은 차량용 임베디드 제어기에서 Power on Reset 이 발생하였을 경우 리셋이 발생하는 경로를 우회하여 Power on Reset 의 원인을 규명하는데 도움이 되는 최소한의 정보를 수집하고 이를 비휘발성 메모리(EEPROM)에 기록하는 방법에 대해 제시한다. Power on Reset 의 경우 정보를 기록하는 경로를 파악하기 어려우며 특히 Cold Power on Reset 의 경우 리셋 이후에는 RAM 의 정보를 사용할 수 없다[3]. 이를 해결하기 위해 Infineon AURIX 환경에서의 리셋 특징에 대해 알아보고 그중 전압 이상으로 발생하는 리셋인 Cold Power on Reset 의 발생 경로를 분석한다. 이후 Cold Power on Reset 시 정보를 기록하는 방법을 제시하고 리셋의 원인 규명에 도움이 될 수 있는 정보에 대해 설명한다. 그 결과 리셋 준비 시간(약 180us) 내 비휘발성 메모리에 최대 4 개의 페이지(128 bits)를 기록할 수 있었으며 이를 통해 최근 발생한 전압과 관련된 정보(저전압 및 과전압)들과 실행되었던 태스크 및 인터럽트 등의 OS 정보를 파악할 수 있었다.

Xeroderma pigmentosum is a rare autosomal recessive disease, related to defects in DNA repair mechanism. It presents skin lesions on sun-exposed areas, leading to various skin cancer. Skin lesions can be treated with cryotherapy, skin resurfacing, 5-FU, Imiquimod, topical T4 endonuclease V, radiotherapy and genetic therapy, but invasive skin cancer should be treated by a surgery. We report a 12-year-old female xeroderma pigmentosum patient with recurrent basal cell carcinoma successfully treated by skin grafting. In that there is no cure for this disease, prevention and patient education is most important.
