      • 말초혈액 호산구증다증이 없는 고열을 동반한 Wells 증후군

        Wells` syndrome is eosinophilic cellulitis characterized clinically by an acute dermatitis resembling cellulitis. Peripheral eosinophilia is not necessary for the diagnosis but is present in approximately 50% of during active disease. We report a case of Wells` syndrome which was clinically difficult to diagnose without biopsy. A 26-year-old woman presented with high fever and skin lesion mimicking urticaria migrating in chest, abdomen and extremities. The skin lesion was aggravated with rise in temperature and was evanescent. Well-demarcated swollen and tender erythematous plaques were in ear lobes, neck, chest, abdomen and extremities. Viral markers, blood cultures and other laboratory test results related to infections such as EBV, CMV and Limedisease were negative. FANA, ANCA and ENA were also negative. There was no peripheral eosinophilia. Skin biopsy performed from the volar side of right forearm revealed the infiltration of eosinophils with multifocal collagen degeneration in dermis without vasculitic process, consistent with the early stage of Wells` syndrome. The patient was treated with intravenous methylprednisolone and antihistamine with remarkable clinical improvement. Wells` syndrome should be included in the differential diagnosis of any skin lesion mimicking cellulitis even without peripheral eosinophilia. Confirmatory skin biopsy is mandatory for the definite diagnosis of this disease. (Korean J Asthma Allergy Clin Immunol 2008;28:305-308)

        인체폐암세포 A549의 세포주기 조절인자에 미치는 histone deacetylase inhibitor trichostatin A의 영향

        Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 억제제가 새로운 항암치료제 후보물질로서 유용성이 높은 것으로 평가되지만, 아직까지 인체폐암세포에 관한 연구는 상대적으로 미미한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 폐암세포에 미치는 HDAC 억제제의 항암작용 기전을 조사하기 위하여 A549 인체폐암세포주를 대상으로 암세포의 증식에 미치는 대표적인 HDAC 억제제인 tichostatin A (TSA)에 의한 영향을 세포주기 조절관련인자 중심으로 조사하였다. TSA의 처리에 의하여 A549 폐암세포의 증식은 처리 농도 의존적으로 억제되었으며, 심한 형태적 변형을 동반하였다. 저농도 처리군에서는 TSA 농도가 증가할수록 세포주기 G1기의 빈도가 증가하였으나, 고농도 처리군에서는 G2/M기에 속하는 세포의 빈도가 증가되었다. 또한 apoptosis 유발의 간접적인 지표가 되는 sub-G1기에 속하는 세포의 빈도 역시 TSA 처리 농도 의존적으로 매우 증가되었다. 이러한 TSA의 A549 폐암세포 증식억제 효과는 cyclins 및 CdkS의 발현 억제, 종양억제유전자인 p53 및 Cdks 억제제인 p21과 p27의 발현 증가와도 연관성이 있었다. TSA의 항암 기전을 규명하기 위해서는 더 많은 연구가 부가적으로 필요하겠지만, 본 연구의 결과들에 의하면 TSA는 강력한 인체폐암세포의 증식 억제 및 항암작용이 있음을 시사하여 준다고 할 수 있다. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors target key steps of tumor development. They inhibit proliferation, induce differentiation and/or apoptotic cell death, and exhibit potent antimetastatic and antiangiogenic properties in cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Although they are emerging as a promising new treatment strategy in malignancy, how they exert their effect on human non-small cell lung cancer cells is as yet unclear. The present study was undertaken to investiate the underlying mechanism of a HDAC inhibitor trichostatin A (TSA)-induced growth arrest and its effect on the cell cycle control gene products in a human lung carcinoma cell line A549. TSA treaoent induced the growth inhibition and morphological changes in a concentration-dependent manner. Treatment of A549 cells with TSA resulted in a concentration-dependent increased G1 (under 100 ng/ml) and/or G2/M (200 ng/ml) cell population of the cell cycle as determined by flow cytometry Moreover, 200 ng/ml TSA treatment significantly induced the population of sub-G1 cells (23.0 fold of control). This anti-proliferative effect of TSA was accompanied by a marked inhibition of cyclins, positive regulators of cell cycle progression, and cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks) expression and concomitant induction of tumor suppressor p53 and Cdk inhibitors such as p21 and p27 Although further studies are needed, these findings provide important insights into the possible molecular mechanisms of the anti-cancer activity of TSA in human lung carcinoma cells.

        3차원 수치모사를 통한 연료극 지지식 관형 고체산화물 연료전지의 전지 성능에 대한 연결재 구조 효과

        본 연구에서는 유체유동해석프로그램인 Fluent를 이용하여 연료극 지지체식 관형 고체산화물 연료전지(SOFC)에서의 연결재 구조에 따른 성능 변화를 고찰하였다. 실험적 사실과 부합되는 이론적 결과를 확보하기 위해서는 전기적으로 전극과 하나로 되어있는 연결재의 구조가 전지 성능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살피는 것이 중요하다. 두께가 작은 연결재가 단전지 성능을 우수하게 하는 것으로 보아 옴(ohmic) 저항에 직결되는 연결재의 두께가 전지 성능에 있어 주요 변수임을 확인하였다. 일정 두께로 고정된 조건 하에 연결재 폭을 변화시킨 경우, 전지 성능은 상대적으로 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 이는 본 연구에서 고려한 SOFC의 관형 구조 특성상 연결재의 폭으로는 원주 방향으로 흘러가는 전류 경로를 효과적으로 단축시킬 수 없기 때문으로 사료된다. Effect of interconnect structure on the cell performance in anode-supported tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been investigated in this study, employing the Fluent CFD solver. For the robust and reliable theoretical analysis corroborating experimental results, it is of great importance to elucidate the role of interconnect which is electrically connected with electrodes on the cell characteristics. From the fact that the thin interconnect provides the enhanced cell performance, it is revealed that the interconnect thickness is a key parameter that is able to effectively control the ohmic resistance. Under the constant thickness condition, the cell performance does not considerably change with the variation of interconnect width. This is because the current passage along with circumferential direction is not effectively altered by the change of interconnect width in tubular SOFC system.

        유아특수교사의 공감피로와 소진: 공감만족과 사회적 지지의 조절효과 분석

        본 연구는 유아특수교사의 공감피로와 소진과의 관계성을 분석하고, 두 변인의 관계에서 공감만족과 사회적지지 (예: 공감피로에 대한 보호요인)가 조절효과가 있는지도 알아보았다. 연구문제는 첫째, 유아특수교사의 소진에 대한 공감피로, 공감만족, 사회적 지지의 영향력은 어떠한가? 둘째, 유아특수교사의 소진과 공감피로간의 관계성에서 공감만족, 사회적 지지의 조절효과는 어떠한가? 이다. 연구대상은 유치원 및 장애전담 어린이집에 근무하는 193명의 유아특수교사이다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아특수교사의 소진 변인과 공감피로, 공감만족, 사회적 지지간의 유의한 상관관계가 있었고, 유아특수교사의 소진에 공감피로는 부적영향력, 공감만족, 사회적 지지는 정적 영향이 있었다. 둘째, 유아특수교사의 소진과 공감피로간의 관계성에 있어 공감만족 및 사회적 지지의 조절효과는 유의하지 않았다. The current study aimed to a relationship between compassion fatigue and burnout of early childhood special education teachers(ESCT); and whether compassion satisfaction and social support (i.e., protective factors of compassion fatigue) moderate this relationship. Data was collected from a total of 193 ECST who work at public kindergartens or childcare centers, which identified themselves as institutions specialized in education for children with disabilities Our findings found a significant effect of compassion fatigue on burnout of ESCT: however, the effect was not dependent on compassion satisfaction and social support. Our findings imply the importance of teaching self-care or -management strategies to teachers, cultivating respectful school climates, and exploring potential variables that have buffering effects on compassion fatigue and burnout.

        In this study, a mortar was prepared using Rhodobacter capsulatus which is forming glycocalyx and immersed in a simulated sewage environment. As a result of the experiment, it was observed that bacteria continued to grow in the mortar immersed in the simulated sewage environment, and it was confirmed that glycocalyx was formed by bacteria on the surface of mortar specimen.

        강화 남부 조간대에 서식하는 칠면초(Suaeda japonica)의 연간 생장 및 생산 양상

        This study examined the growth pattern and environmental factors affecting the growth of the halophyte, Suaeda japonica, which is prevalent on tidal flats in the west coast of Korea in order to calculate annual carbon production. Quantitative sampling was conducted every month for three years from 2018 to 2020 on salt marshes located on the southern coast of Ganghwa Island. In terms of annual density affected by the germination rate at first period, especially when air temperature for winter time was constantly below 0℃ for long periods of time, germination decreased and precipitation in summer also exerted an influence. In terms of annual growth with regard to length, the part below the ground grew rapidly in the beginning after budding, while the part above ground grew at a relatively steady rate at all times. With regard to biomass, the part below the ground also increased from April in a manner similar to length growth, but decreased drastically from September with leaves falling off and water loss occurring. The part above ground showed a rapid increase from the beginning of the rainy season. Size-frequency distribution revealed broader patterns after the rainy season as individual growth varied, but from September, it stopped at all year. High growth rates were recorded in the initial phase of growth after budding and growth was rapid, but growth declined in summer when biomass increased. The annual mean production based on growth rate was calculated at 352 gDWt/m<sup>2</sup>/yr, and the highest production was 519 gDWt/m<sup>2</sup>/yr in 2018, but it has decreased since 2019. Annual carbon production was at calculated 143.41 gC/m<sup>2</sup>/yr for Suaeda japonica in the vicinity of the southern coast of Ganghwa Island.

        Polyurethane과 Poly(Ethylene Oxide)를 이용한 hybrid 나노섬유 지지체의 제작

        The object of this study is to investigate the potential of dual-electrospun polymer based structure for vascular tissue engineering, especially for the medium or small sue blood vessels. Polyurethane(PU), which is known to be biocompatible in this area, was electrospun with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO). Concentration of PU was fixed at 20wt%, while that of PEO was set from 15 to 35wt%. Morphological features were observed by SEM image and measurement of porosity and cellular responses were tested before and after extracting PEO from the hybrid scaffolds by immersing the scaffolds into distilled water. The diameter of PEO fibers were ranged from 200nm to 500nm. The lower concentration of PEO tended to show beads. The porosity of the scaffolds after extracting PEO was highly increased with higher concentration of PEO as expected. Also, higher proliferation rate of smooth muscle cells was observed at higher concentration of PEO than at the lower concentration and without PEO. As conclusions, this dual electrospinning technique combined with PU and PEO is expected to overcome the current barrier of cell penetration by providing more space for cells to proliferation.
