Although location-based services (LBS) are available in various applications, achieving higher positioning performance is crucial, especially in an unmanned robot environment. Base station (BS) placement is a fundamental factor that significantly affects positioning performance. This study introduces a BS placement technique using a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG). We implemented symmetrical initial BS placement within the designated environment. In addition, we developed a value function based on the received signal strength indicator and dilution of precision for DDPG. Thus, our findings indicate an enhancement in positioning performance by approximately 12.5%.

A 54-year-old woman visited Gangnam Severance Hospital for left side flank pain. She had a history of total removal of malignant melanoma on the left eye ball 20 years prior. No evaluation had been performed since then. A paravertebral mass at thoracic ninth level (T9) was discovered on spinal magnetic resonance imaging, and pathology confirmed malignant melanoma. Following positron emission tomography-computed tomography, no other metastasis was discovered. After removal of the paravertebral mass, palliative chemotherapy (dacabarzine + tamoxifene) was administered in 3 cycles over 2 months. Radiotherapy with simultaneous integrated boost technique was performed at 4,350 cGy total over 15 days, 290 cGy per delivery, and was administered with the first cycle of palliative chemotherapy. Despite this treatment, multiple metastases developed throughout her body 7 months later, and the patient is continuing chemotherapy.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the effect of foramen magnum decompression with C1 laminectomy (C1L) for Chiari malfor mation type 1 (CM-1) in terms of improving clinical symptoms, expanding posterior fossa volume, and decreasing syrinx volume. Materials and Methods: Between January 2007 and June 2019, 107 patients with CM-1 were included. The median patient age was 13±13 years (range: 9 months–60 years), female-to-male ratio was 1:1, and average length of tonsil herniation was 13±5 mm (range: 5–24 mm). Surgical techniques were divided into four groups based on duraplasty or C1L usage. Among the study subjects, 38 pa tients underwent duraplasty and had their syrinx volumes measured separately on serial magnetic resonance imaging. A three-di mensional visualization software was used to evaluate the syrinx-volume decrease rate. Results: Bony decompression exhibited a mere 20% volume expansion of the lower-half posterior fossa. C1L offered a 3% addition al volume expansion, which rose to 5% when duraplasty was added (p=0.029). There were no significant differences in complica tion rate when C1L was combined with duraplasty (p=0.526). Syrinx volumes were analyzed in 38 patients who had undergone du raplasty. Among them, 28 patients who had undergone duraplasty without C1L demonstrated a 5.9% monthly decrease in syrinx volume, which was 7.5% in the remaining 10 patients with C1L (p=0.040). Conclusion: C1L was effective in increasing posterior fossa volume expansion, both with and without duraplasty. A more rapid decrease in syrinx volume occurred when C1L was combined with duraplasty.
강화학습을 활용한 측위 성능 향상을 위한 IEEE 802.11 AP 배치 기법

위치기반서비스(LBS : Location Based Service)가 다양하게 제공되고 있지만 복잡한 환경에서 보다 높은 측위 성능이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 다양한 측위 기법 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 강화학습 중 Proximal Policy Optimization(PPO)을 활용한 IEEE 802.11 AP(Access Point)를 사용하는 환경에서 측위 성능 향상을 위한 배치 기법을 제안한다. 주어진 환경에서 AP 의 배치에 따라 도출되는 DoP(Dilution of Precision)와 RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator)를 학습 모델에 입력하여 측위 성능을 향상시키는 AP 배치도를 출력한다. 이를 통해 임의의 환경에서 학습모델을 통해 높은 측위 성능을 가진 AP 배치를 찾을 수 있다.

As expected performances of UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) become more complex and complicated, required positioning accuracy is becoming more and more higher. Ranging is the core technology in positioning procedures. We focus on indoor ranging problem because indoor environments present many problems for UAV navigation. In this paper, we propose an enhanced indoor ranging method that uses a CSI attenuation model to provide more accurate ranging results.

As required performance of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) becomes more complex and complicated, required positioning accuracy is becoming more and more higher. GPS is a reliable world wide positioning providing system. Therefore, UAV generally acquires position information from GPS. But when GPS is not available such as too weak signal or too less GPS satellites environments, UAV needs alternative positioning system such as network positioning system. RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) based positioning, which is one method of network positioning technologies, determines its position using RSSI measurements containing distance information from AP (Access Point)s. In that method, a selected AP"s configuration has strong and tight relationship with its positioning errors. In this paper, for, we additionally account AP"s configuration information by adopting DOP (Dilution of Precision) into AP selection procedures and provide more accurate RSSI based positioning results.
