        균일침전시 여러 가지 금속염화물들을 첨가하여 제조된 TiO<sub>2</sub> 나노 분말들의 광산화 능력 평가

        Transition metal ions doped $TiO_2$ nanostructured powders were prepared with simply heating aqueous $TiOCl_2$ solutions, contained various metal ions (Ni, Al, Fe, Zr, and Nb) of 1.47 mol% added as metal-chlorides, at $100^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs by homogeneous precipitation process under suppressing conditions of water vaporization. The characterizations for prepared $TiO_2$ powders were carried out to observe doping of metal ions, their concentrations and microstructures using XRD, UV-VIS (DRS), XPS, SEM, TEM and ICP. Also, photo-oxidative abilities were evaluated by decomposition of 4-chlorophenol (4CP) under ultraviolet light irradiations. No secondary oxide phases were formed in all the $VTiO_2$ powders, showing doping with various transition metal ions. When adding ions ($Ni^{2+}$ or$ Al^{3+ }$ and $Zr^{4+}$ ) having valance states or ionic radii greatly different from those of $Ti^{4+}$ , the $TiO_2$ powders of mixed anatase and rutile phases were formed, whereas in the case of additions of $^Fe{3+ }$ and $Nb^{ 5+}$ as well as no addition of metal ion the powders with pure rutile phase alone were formed. Among the prepared $TiO_2$ powders, Ni$^{2+}$ doped $TiO_2$ powders, containing a small amount of anatase phase, showed excellent photo-oxidative ability in 4CP decomposition because of relative decreases in electron-hole recombination and poisoning of $TiO_2$ surface during the photoreaction.n.

        흰점박이꽃무지(Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis) 유충에서 병원균과 공생균 분비물질들에 의한 세포성면역반응

        Studies of immune responses in insects have focused on mechanisms that interact directly with invading microorganisms. However, few studies have examined the immune response to various metabolites produced by microorganisms after they enter the host. Here, we examined immune responses in Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis larvae induced by metabolites produced by symbiotic and pathogenic bacteria. The two types of bacteria were cultured under the same conditions. The bacteria were then removed and the remaining culture supernatant was injected into the larvae. The larvae injected with culture medium (Ch-medium) from symbiotic bacteria remained relatively healthy and did not develop an immune response, whereas more than 60% of the larvae injected with pathogen culture medium (Ec-medium) died after 150 hours and dark brown patches of melanin were observed at the injection site. This immune response was confirmed by the finding of activated lysosomes in insect granulocytes. More than 50% of lysosomes in larvae injected with pathogen culture medium were strongly stained after 12 h, but less than 5% of those injected with symbiotic culture media were stained. Therefore, it is assumed that symbiotic bacteria produce few (if any) substances that induce host immune responses.

        Effect of pretreatment with paste and sauce extract made using Tenebrio molitor larvae on ethanol-damaged HepG2 cells

        In this study, we made koji using protein-rich Tenebrio molitor larvae (TML) inoculated with Aspergillus oryzae, and then used the koji to prepare a paste and a sauce. The TML koji showed the highest amino nitrogen, protease activity, and free amino acids content when it was fermented for 72 h after inoculation with 0.8% A. oryzae. The koji was aged in 20% saltwater for 50 days, and then the paste and sauce were separated. To evaluate the effect of TML paste and sauce on ethanol (EtOH)- damaged hepatocytes, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransaminase (ALT) were measured in EtOH-treated HepG2 cells after pretreatment with TML paste and sauce extract. As a result, we confirmed that TML paste and sauce extracts lowered the AST and ALT content in the medium, compared to soybean sauce and paste extracts. TML paste and sauce extract significantly reduced the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6, a biomarker of inflammation, and significantly increased the activity of the antioxidants superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reduced glutathione (GSH) in proportion to the amount of TML added to the paste and sauce. These results suggest that the intake of TML paste and sauce, a new type of fermented food made from insects, may provide effective protection to the liver against hepatocyte injury by EtOH via anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects.

        둥글장수풍뎅이 혈구 종류와 식균작용

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of hemocytes in the hemolymph of the larvae of Pentodon quadridens bidentulus and the characteristics of the hemocytes responsible for cellular immunity during pathogen infection. Granulocytes, plasmatocytes, oenocytoids, spherulocytes, prohemocytes and adipohemocytes were found in the circulating hemocytes. Among them, granulocyte were observed as cells responsible for immunological phagocytosis during entry of foreign substances. In particular, it was observed that the most active phagocytic action occurred within 12 hours in vivo, and that after 24 hours, the immune activation was reduced and converted to a normal state. Plasmatocytes were occasionally observed as immunological response, but the remaining hemocytes were not related to immunological activation.

        침상구조의 루틸상 TiO<sub>2</sub> 초미분체를 이용한 광촉매 반응에 대한 연구

        The redox properties of a homogeneously-precipitated $TiO_2$ rutile powder with a BET surface area of ~$200 m^2$/g, consisting of an acicular primary particle, were characterized using photocatalytic reaction in aqueous 4-chlorophenol, Cu-EDTA and Pb-EDTA solutions under ultraviolet irradiation, compared to those of commercial P-25 X$200 m_2$ powder with a spherical primary particle as well as home-made anatase $TiO_2$ powder with ~$200 m^2$/g BET surface area. Here, the anatase powder also includes mainly the primary particles very similar to the acicular shapes of the rutile $TiO_2$ powder. The rutile powder showed the fastest decomposition rate and the largest amount in the photoredor, compared with the anatase or P-25 powder, while the anatase powder unexpectedly showed the slowest rate and the smallest amount in the same experiments regardless of almost the same surface area. From results, the excellent photoredox abilities of this rutile powder appears to be due to specific powder preparation method, like a homogeneous precipitation leading to direct crystallization from the solution, regardless of their crystalline structures even when having the similar particle shape and surface area.

        인식개선을 통한 식용곤충 산업의 활성화 방안

        식용곤충은 영양적, 친환경적, 경제적, 기능성 등의 장점을 가지고 있어 미래 대체식량으로 주목받고 있음에도 불구하고 현재까지 소비는 저조한 실정이므로 새로운 소비촉진 방안 마련이 시급하다. 따라서 인구밀도가 가장 높은 서울시민을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 ① 식용곤충의 외형에 대한 혐오감, ② 식품공전에 신규 등록된 식용곤충에 대한 홍보 부족, ③ 지속적인 양질의 식용곤충 공급 및 식품 · 제품 판매의 어려움이라는 식용곤충 산업의 문제점을 도출하였다. 식용곤충 산업 활성화를 위해서는 본 연구에서 제안한 다양한 홍보활동을 통해 우선 식용곤충의 가치나 혐오감 개선에 앞서 식용곤충의 존재를 널리 알리는 것이 선행되어야 할 것이다. 이미 · 이취를 감소시키고 풍미를 향상시켜 식용곤충이 맛있는 먹거리로 각인된다면 소비촉진은 자연스럽게 이루어질 것이라 생각된다. 새로운 식재료인 곤충에 대한 호기심은 있으나 어떻게 조리해야 하는지 모르는 분들을 위한 다양한 조리 교육이 이루어진다면 식용곤충은 누구나 손쉽고 맛있게 먹을 수 있을 것이다. 어떠한 식재료보다 믿을 수 있는 먹거리로 자리매김하기 위해, 복합공간인 원스톱 클러스터에서 품질관리를 통한 수매가 이루어지고, 그 자리에서 바로 교육 및 제품판매까지 이루어진다면 소비자에게 보다 편의성을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이라 판단된다. 이러한 다방면의 활성화 방안을 통해 미래대체 식량으로써 식용곤충 산업이 활성화된다면 국민건강증진과 관련 산업 소득증대를 기대할 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. Although edible insects are attracting attention as future alternative food because of their nutritional, eco-friendly, and economic advantages and functionality, consumption is low, so measures to promote consumption are needed. The problems in edible insect consumption were identified as the aversion to the edible insects, lack of publicity for edible insects newly registered in the Food Code, and difficulties in continuously supplying high-quality edible insects and selling products. To solve these problems, it is necessary to establish effective public relations plans for new edible insects and develop processing methods for improving their taste and flavor, education content about edible insects, and products interesting to the target age. In addition, it is necessary to establish a one-stop cluster that can perform quality control of harmful substances and nutrients, purchase raw materials, sell products, educate, and publicize.

        전기화학기반 열화모델을 이용한 리튬이온 배터리의 수명 예측

        We performed the degradation and life prediction of lithium-ion batteries using an electrochemical-based degradation model. Numerical simulation was carried out considering three different degradation models (that is, SEI growth, SEI growth on the particle crack, and Li plating), and the DFN model was employed to solve the electrochemical kinetics and complex mass transfer phenomena. The result predicted an 80% of capacity decrease on reaching 9.16 years, in which the contribution of the SEI growth on the particle crack was dominant. The effect of the SEI growth was small, and the influence of Li plating became significant with decreasing temperature and increasing C-rate.
