Entering the 21st century, we are encountered with great obstacles in our funeral culture in terms of effective utilization of lands. Futhermore, obstacles become greater as much of the lands are used as cemeteries, causing decrease in living space and natural environment. It is in this aspect that this study hopes to provide architectural models for crematory arid charmel facilities in efforts to offer effective plans in funeral and cultivate funeral facilitates as part of a figref architectural culture.
이슬람의 순교 개념과 자살테러에 관한 연구 - 수니파와 시아파의 비교를 중심으로 -

While Shia organizations, such as Hezbollah, pioneered the use of suicide bombings as “self-sacrifice operations” in the early 1980s, Shia groups have abandoned the practice since the 1990s. Sunni organizations like Hamas and Al Qaeda in Iraq, on the other hand,have not only exponentially increased the use of suicide attack, they have expanded the target set to include civilians and now primarily target other Muslims. This thesis is to look into the differences in suicide attack based on the contept of martyrdom between Sunni and Shiite. For this, this thesis demonstrates that support for suicide attack can differ depending on the concept of martyrdom based on the result of survey conducted in six Muslim countries by comparing the development of the concept of martyrdom between the two main sects of Islam, Sunni and Shiite in a historical context. The main findings of this thesis are that unlike the consistent 1,400-year history of venerating prominent Shia martyrs, limited role martyrs play in the Sunni tradition allowed Sunni extremists to essentially rewrite their history and reinvent “martyrdom” to suit their own contemporary political goals.
Ultrasound와 Pulsed UV 조사시 H2O2 발생량과 보조제 주입시 bisphenol A, 17β-estradiol의 제거에 대한 연구

This study investigated the relative degradation of commonly known endocrine-disrupting compounds such as bisphenol A (BPA) and 17β-estradiol (E2) using ultrasound (US) and pulsed ultraviolet (PUV) in water. The removal efficiency of BPA and E2 was determined as a function of generating power and H2O2 production. The ultrasound and PUV irradiation of the aqueous solution was performed in 3 L and 90 L stainless reactor at a constant temperature of 20℃ with an applied power of 200 W and 2000 W, respectively. The removal of BPA and E2 by US and PUV varied with catalysts. The experiments were conducted under the following conditions: total operating time, 30 min; initial concentration, 1 uM. In the case of E2 (10 min), % removal was 92.5/95.8/87.6/82.4, while % removal of BPA (10 min) was 62.3/82.3/91.1/67.0/64.3 in various conditions (PUV, PUV+H2O2, PUV+wire mesh, PUV+TiO2 coated wire mesh), respectively.
