인천국제공항철도와 기존 철도의 효율적인 연계방안

The Incheon International Airport Railroad (IIAR) is the railroad that connects Incheon International Airport, Gimpo Airport and Seoul Station. IIAR is now under construction, and it will be finished to Gimpo Airport by 2006, to Seoul Station by 2008. But IIAR is not only so late to start but also has no discussion about effective connecting methods to existing railroads and fine operation plan. Therefore, after IIAR opens, it is possible for IIAR to lose to limousine bus using highway. So, this paper proposes 4 effective connecting methods for IIAR - (1) Shuttle transport, (2) Short-distance connecting transport (Inside IIAR, Seoul Subway Line 9, "Han-River line") (3) Mid-distance connecting transport (Jung-ang, Tae-baek, Young-dong line) (4) Long-distance connecting transport (Korean Train eXpress (korean high speed railroad)) These methods can increase the connectivity of IIAR with existing railroads and the competition power of IIAR against highway.

영원성과 현재성은 하느님 안에서 양립가능한가?

본 논문은 20세기 초 맥타가트(McTaggart, J. E. M.)이후 분석 형이상학의 시간에 대한 이해를 적용함에 의해 하느님의 시간을 고찰한다. 시제가 실재한다고 여기는 A-이론에 의하면 하느님은 시간성을 가진 존재로서 무한한 과거에서부터 현재와 무한한 미래까지 시간 속에 존재한다. A-이론은 시간 속에 존재하는 피조물에 대한 하느님의 현재적인 보존과 작용을 잘 설명한다. 반면에 시제가 존재하지 않으며 사건들의 관계들만 존재한다고 주장하는 B-이론은 피조물들의 모든 사건을 선취하고 있는 완전한 존재로 하느님을 묘사하는데 적당하다. 그런데 하느님의 두 면모를 잘 설명하는 두 시간 이론으로부터 하느님이 비시간적인 존재이면서도 동시에 시간적 존재인 것 같다는 모순이 발생한다. 이 모순을 해소하는 한 방법은 완전성에서 비롯하는 신에 대한 B-이론적인 견해를 우선 받아들이면서 A-이론적인 그의 현존과 시간적 작용을 최대한 정합적으로 설명하는 것이다. 본 논문은 시간적인 우리의 사건들이 하느님 안에 이미 선취되어 있는 비시간적인 사건들에 오직 실제 세계에서만 의존하고 있다는 약수반 개념을 제안하여 하느님의 시간성에 대한 딜레마를 해결한다. This paper investigates the natrue of God’s time by virtue of two theories of time originated from J. E. M. McTaggart. A-theory considers tense as actual, and portraits God as a temporal being who is everlasting from the infinite past to the present to the infinite future. A-theory has its strength in explaining God’s sustaining and acting on His creatures. On the other hand, B-theory, which holds that there is no tense and only relations between events exist, is better in depicting God as a complete being who pre-owns all the events. A contradiction arises from the two theories of time that respectively illuminate God’s two different aspects: God seems to be an atemporal being but, at the same time, he seems to be a temporal being. A solution is to accept God’s atemporality, which conforms to His completeness and B-theory, and then to coherently explain his presence and temporal action. I resolve the contradiction by appealing to the notion of weak supervenience, which maintains that our temporal events depend on the events pre-owned by God only in the actual world.

이차원적 의미론과 양상 일원론에 대한 비판

This paper argues that David Chalmers`s Two Dimensional (2D) semantics and modal monism are not properly applicable to natural kinds, and we need independent semantics and modal concepts for them. Chalmers`s 2D semantics is serious about considering possible worlds as actual, and so highlights primary intensions which are grounded on rational reasoning. Modal monism is a thesis that logical necessity, tightly associated with primary intensions, is identical with metaphysical necessity. Chalmers insists that modal dualism, which holds the independence of metaphysical necessity, is wrong and logical necessity embraces facts about natural kinds. However, 2D semantics and modal monism entail an absurd metaphysical result that considering possible worlds as actual could affect metaphysics of our natural kinds. Hence, Chalmers`s 2D semantics and modal monism should be turned down.

주파수 영역 혼합 함수를 이용한 2.6kbps 혼합 다중대역 음성 부호화기의 설계

MBE(multi-band excitation) 음성 부호기는 고조파 대역별로 유/무성음 판단을 수행함으로써 한 프레임 내에서 유성음과 무성음이 혼합되는 경우를 잘 모델링할 수 있다. 하지만 같은 주파수 대역에서는 유성음 성분과 무성을 성분이 공존할 수 없다. 또한 유/무성음 판단 과정에서 경험에 의한 임계치와의 비교 과정이 필요하므로 원음 스펙트럼과 합성음 스펙트럼 간의 오류가 큰 경우가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 모든 주파수 영역에서 유성음 성분과 무성음 성분이 혼합되는 것을 허용하는 MMBE(mixed multi-band excitation) 음성 모델을 제안하고, 모델 파라미터인 주파수 영역 혼합 함수(FDMF: frequency domain mixture function)를 임계치와의 비교 없이 효과적으로 추정할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 제안한 음성 모델을 적용한 2.6kbps 음성 부호기를 구현해 본 결과, 2.9kbps의 전송률을 갖는 MBE 음성 부호기에 비해서 낮은 전송률에서도 더 우수한 합성음 음질을 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

The ordinary view about kinds of supervenience is that nomological supervenience is a sub-kind of metaphysical supervenience. This conforms to the ordinary understanding of modal notions that the set of metaphysical possible worlds includes the set of nomological possible worlds. This is in turn based on a metaphysical view that the nature of things (or properties) is prior to laws of nature, which are dependent on the interactions between things (or properties). However, Jessica Wilson argues that the nature of things (or properties) is rather individuated by laws of nature, and thus metaphysical supervenience collapses into nomological supervenience. While supporting the ordinary view, I prove that Wilson`s thesis is too strong by presenting counter-examples about things (or properties) which endure changes in laws.

Etanercept is a recombinant human tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor fusion protein, which inhibits the biological activity of TNF-α. The common side effects of TNF-α inhibitors are injection site reactions, infusion reactions and infection. Rheumatoid nodules are the most common extraarticular manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis. Drugs such as methotrexate were reported to be associated with rheumatoid nodules, but etanercept-related nodules were uncommonly observed. We report the new formation of cutaneous rheumatoid nodules in a 58-year-old man during anti-TNFα therapy with etanercept. He had 2-year history of seropositive rheumatoid arthritis, and been treated with methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine, sulfasalazine, prednisolone and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs before etanercept regimen. Rheumatoid nodules developed on the palmar surface of fingers 4 month after treatment of etanercept, although his disease activity was maintained low. One month later, we decided to stop etanercept because his nodulosis extended to elbow. Since then, he has been followed up without any progression of rheumatoid nodules or aggravation of arthritis.

비개념적 내용과 현상적 의식

Block criticizes that functionalists ignore the conceptual distinction between Access-Consciousness, which reflects the functional aspect of consciousness, and Phenomenal Consciousness, which reflects its phenomenal aspect. To support the distinction, he raises examples such as blindsighters, who react to what appeared in the visual field of which they cannot have any phenomenal experience, and G. Sperling`s test about the existence of iconic memories. This paper aims to argue that defining phenomenal consciousness by nonconceptual content has theoretical advantages and explains Block`s examples better than his definition. Nonconceptual content is found in informational states before cognitive, conceptual, or rational judgment. I define phenomenal consciousness as an informational state with nonconceptual content before our rational inferences, verbal reports, or behaviors. My definition agrees with the explanation of the mental by informational process, and keeps the conceptual autonomy of phenomenal consciousness. My suggestion can solve the problems that are entailed by Block`s or functionalists` notion of consciousness. It also helps effectively defuse the zombie argument that, if a duplicate of me only without qualia is conceivable, it is possible.
