The application of the fine needle aspiration(FNA) cytology to the soft tissue tumors has been used increasingly in the preoperative diagnosis of these tumors due to its usefulness and accuracy. We present a case of liposarcoma, showing mosly myxoid component, but small portions of round cell and dedifferentiated component, diagnosed by FNA cytology with histologic confirmation. Good correlation between histologic and FNA cytologic findings was found. Although the cytologic appearances of liposarcomas varied with histologic type, the main criterion was the presence of atpical multivacuolated lipoblast with characgteristically scalloped nuclei.

Study on impact of a compatibilizer for sPAES/PVDF/UAN composite membrane in vanadium redox flow battery

Composite membranes are synthesized by sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (sPAES) / Poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVdF) / Urethane acrylate non-ionomer (UAN) for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB). sPAES increases proton conductivity and PVdF decreases vanadium permeability. UAN as compatibilizer is added at low content. The morphology of composite membrane is examined by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The VRFB performance demonstrated that introduction of a compatibilizer improved energy efficiency. Therefore composite membrane can be useful for RFB application

목적 : NK/T 세포 림프종의 발생은 EBV와 연관되어 있으며, EBV 아형과 LMP-1유전자의 30염기쌍 결손 돌연변이가 EBV의 종양유발성과 관련 있다는 연구 결과가 있는 바, 본원에서 NK/T 세포 림프종으로 진단된 예를 대상으로 이에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법 : 본원에서 진단된 NK/T세포 림프종 16예를 대상으로 EBER-1 in situ hybridization으로 EBV 양성율을 검사하고, PCR방법을 통해 EBV아형과 결손 돌연변이 유무를 관찰하였다. 결과 : 16예 모두 EBER-1 in situ hybridization에서 양성반응을 보였다. EBV는 모두 A 아형이었고 LMP-1의 30염기쌍 결손은 전체 16예 중 10예(62.5%)에서 있었고 나머지 6예는 wild type이었다. 결론 : 본원에서 진단된 NK/T세포 림프종 모든 예어서 EBV를 발견할 수 있었으며, EBV는 모두 A아형이었다. LMP-1 결손 돌연변이는 62.5%에서 관찰되었으며 예후와의 연관성은 보다 많은 예에 대한 연구를 통해 밝혀져야 할 것이다. Objectives: Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) is associated with development of various types of lymphoma, especially NK/T cell lymphoma. Recently, its subtypes and LMP-1, major oncoprotein of EBV, have been studied. We investigated the frequency of EBV, its subtypes, and LMP-1 status on the cases diagnosed at Ewha university hospital between 1993 and 2002. Material and Methods: Sixteen cases of NK/T cell lymphomas were studied. In situ hybridization for EBER-1 mRNA and PCR for EBV subtypes and 30 base pair deletion of LMP-1 were done. Results: All cases showed EBV positivity by EBER in situ hybridization. All cases contained Type A viruses and 10 cases(62.5%) revealed LMP-1 30bp deletion. Conclusion: EBV act as a causative role in the development of NK/T cell lymphoma. The exact role of LMP-1 30bp deletion variant in the lymphomatogenesis should be studied with larger number of cases.

버티컬 SNS의 관심사 기반 계정과 놀이 공동체 - 인스타그램을 중심으로

This paper analyzed the aspect of communication and the process of forming a play community as focusing on the vertical social network service platform Instagram which is constructed by the images. In the case of the Instagram, the user who exists as Dionysian individual can construct multiple personas through the interest-based account, and moreover reconstruct them as the form of images. In addition, each distinct persona connects the network selves through hashtags, and further forms the communities based on the interest-based accounts. Specifically, Dionysian individuals spontaneously add conventions and rules as plays to the subjects which belong to everyday life. By repeating the process, collective emotions are created among an unspecified number of users who share the same interests and hobbies through hashtags. As a result, the users build loose and tactile relationships based on instagram, and eventually form the play communities that display new tribal characteristics through these chains of relationships. 본 연구에서는 버티컬 소셜 네트워크 서비스 플랫폼 중 이미지를 기반으로 구축된 인스타그램을 중심으로 커뮤니케이션 양상 및 놀이 공동체 형성의 과정을 분석했다. 인스타그램의 경우, 디오니소스적 개인인 사용자는 관심사 기반 계정을 중심으로 복수의 페르소나를 구축하고 이를 이미지의 형태로 재구성할 수 있다. 또한 각각의 변별적인 페르소나들은 해시태그를 통해서 네트워크 자아를 연계하고, 나아가 관심사 기반 계정 중심의 공동체를 형성하게 된다. 이때 디오니소스적 개인들은 일상의 영역에 속하는 주제들에 놀이로서의 관습성과 규칙성을 자발적으로 부여한다. 이를 반복적으로 수행하는 과정에서 사용자들은 동일한 관심사 및 취미를 향유하는 불특정 다수의 사용자들과 해시태그를 기반으로 집합적 감정을 공유하게 된다. 결과적으로 사용자들은 인스타그램을 통해서 느슨하면서도 촉각적인 관계를 맺게 되고, 이러한 관계의 연쇄를 통해서 신부족주의적 특성을 나타내는 놀이 공동체를 형성하게 된다.

일체형 재생 연료전지에서 미세기공층 결정형 탄소물질의 적용

일체형재생 연료전지(URFC)는 재생에너지를 저장하기 위한 기술 중의 하나이다. URFC는 높은 에너지밀도 시스템 이며 장주기와 청정에너지 시스템 이다. 그러나 URFC는 높은 전압에서 조작되기 때문에 막과 전극에서의 탄소지지체의 내구성이 저하되는 문제를 가지고 있다. 특히 높은 전압은 높은 저항과 낮은 셀 투과도를 야기하고 이는 탄소물질의 심각한 부식의 원인이 된다. 이런 이유로 우리의 연구에서는 높은 전압에서 부식에 잘 견디는 결정형의 탄소물질을 적용하였다. 높은 결정도를 가진 흑연화 탄소는 순환전압 전류법에 기초하여 높은 전압에서 낮은 감소율(1000사이클)을 보였다. 이는 열처리된 높은 결정도 물질의 전기화학적 활성 표면적이 보통의 탄소물질의 전기화학적 활성 표면적보다도 낮기 때문이다. 그래서 내구성을 가진 높은 결정도 물질이 URFC의 장주기 조작에 사용될 때 미세기공층 탄소물질들이 내구성을 증진시키는 후보 물질들 중의 하나임 알 수 있었다.

A Case of Epiploic Appendagitis with Acute Gastroenteritis

Epiploic appendagitis is an inflammation of the epiploic appendage in which the small sacs projecting from the serosal layer of the colon are positioned longitudinally from the caecum to the rectosigmoid area. Epiploic appendagitis is rare and self-limiting; however, it can cause sudden abdominal pain in children. Epiploic appendagitis does not typi-cally accompany other gastrointestinal diseases. Here, we report on a healthy eight-year-old girl who presented with abdominal pain, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Based on these symptoms, she was diagnosed with acute gastro-enteritis, but epiploic appendagitis in the ascending colon was revealed in contrast computed tomography (CT). The patient was treated successfully with conservative management. CT is beneficial in diagnosis and further assess-ment of epiploic appendagitis. Pediatricians need to be aware of this self-limiting disease and consider it as a possible alternate diagnosis in cases of acute abdominal pain.

Influence of an amphiphilic polymer for sPAES/PVDF/UAN composite membrane in vanadium redox flow battery

For Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB), Amphiphilic polymer Urethane acrylate non-ionomer (UAN) is introduced into sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (sPAES) / Poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVdF) composite membranes to improve their compatibility. This composite membrane is characterized water uptake, proton conductivity and VRFB cell performance. Addition of UAN leads longer-life device performance than sPAES / PVdF composite membrane. It is because that morphology of composite membrane is changed. It was confirmed by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).

아급성 괴사성 림프절 염에서 결핵균 및 비결핵성 미코박테륨에 대한 연구

Objectives : Subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis is a self-limiting disorder that typically affects cervical lymph nodes of young women. Although autoimmune reaction and a viral etiology have been suggested, the definite cause has been uncertain. We evaluated the association of M. tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterium with this disorder. Materials and Methods : From 1994 to 2002, Clinicopathological findings of 38 cases were revie-wed. Multiplex nested PCR was done using DNA extracted from paraffin-embedded tissue. Sequen-cing analysis was done to the cases showing positive band. Results : 3 cases among 38(7.89%) showed amplified non-tuberculous mycobacterium DNA. Two cases are M. gordonae and one is M. fortuitum by sequencing analysis. All cases revealed no positive band for M. tuberculosis. Negative control cases showed no bands for both mycobacte-riums. Conclusion : Although 7.89% of cases showed amplified non-tuberculous mycobacterium DNA, more study is needed to confirm the association of non-tuberculous mycobacterium with subacute necrotizing lymphadenitis. 목적 : 아급성 괴사성 림프절염의 원인으로서 결핵균 및 비결핵성 미코박테륨의 가능성에대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 1994년부터 2002년까지 아급성 괴사성 림프절염으로 진단된 38예를 대상으로 임상 및 병리조직학적인 소견을 검색하고, 파라핀 포매조직을 이요하여 결핵균 및 비결핵성 미코박테륨에 대해 multiplex nested PCR을 시행하고 양성인 예에 대해 유전자 염기서열분석을 시행하였다. 결과: 남녀 비가 6.6대 1 여자에게 주로 발생하였고 평균 나이는 30.0세였다. 37명의 환자가 경부림프절에서 발생하였다. 전체 38예 중 3예(7.89%)가 비결핵성 미코박테륨에 양성인 밴드를 보였고, 결핵균에 대해서는 모두 음성이었다. 음성 대조군은 결핵균 및 비결핵성 미코박테륨에 대해 모두 음성이었다. 유전자 염기서열 분석에서 2예는 M. gordonae 였고 1예는 M. fortuitum 이었다. 결론: 아급성 괴사성 림프절염 38예 중 3예가 비결핵성 미코박테륨에 대해 양성 반응을 보였으나 확실한 연관성을 증명하기 위해서는 더 많은 예가 양성을 보여야 한다고 생각한다.

대안적 주체로서 포스트휴먼 캐릭터의 가능성 연구 - 마블 시네마틱 유니버스를 중심으로 -

디지털 기술의 발전으로 인해 인간은 정보와 기술과 불가분의 삶을 살아갈 수 없게 되었으며, 인간은 고전적 휴머니즘이 제시한 이원론적 체계에 따라 정의할 수 없는 혼종적 존재로 거듭나고 있다. 이에 따라 정보와 기술의 진보는 인간에 대한 존재론적 고민을 수반한다. 혼종적 정체성에 대한 이러한 고민과 호기심은 대중매체에 등장하는 인간의 범주에 속하지 않는 주인공을 통해 표현된다. 마블 시네마틱 유니버스에서는 전체 작품의 80% 이상에 포스트휴먼 캐릭터를 등장시킴으로써 이러한 대중의 고민과 욕망을 반영하고 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 마블 시네마틱 유니버스에 등장하는 다양한 행위자들을 구체적으로 분석함으로써 포스트휴먼 캐릭터에 대한 인문학적 함의를 도출하고자 한다. 마블 시네마틱 유니버스는 인간 신체를 매개하는 포스트바디 캐릭터와 물리적 신체와 관계없이 행위능력을 보유하는 포스트에고 캐릭터를 중심으로 구성된다. 포스트바디 캐릭터의 경우, 특정한 사건으로 인해 생체 기능이 강화되거나 초능력을 획득하거나 기계 장치와 결합함으로써 평범한 인간에서 초인으로 변화한다. 한편 포스트에고 캐릭터의 경우, 인간 신체를 가지고 있지 않음에도 불구하고 인간 캐릭터와 다름없이 결단을 내리고 자신이 믿는 가치를 실천한다. 각 유형의 캐릭터들은 공통적으로 고전적 휴머니즘에 따른 규범적 인간 신체를 보유하고 있지 않기 때문에 인간과 비인간 간의 경계를 흐린다. 이처럼 마블 시네마틱 유니버스에서는 초인임에도 억압받아 고뇌하는 모습과 인간이 아님에도 정보 및 기술을 통해 주체적으로 행동하는 포스트휴먼 캐릭터의 삶을 재현한다. 그리고 이를 통해 급변하는 사회에 대한 불안과 기술에 대한 두려움, 그리고 인간의 한계를 초월하고자 하는 욕망을 제시한다. 그러나 포스트휴먼 캐릭터들은 불확실한 현실과 위험에 빠진 세계에 굴복하지 않는다. 해당 캐릭터들은 개인적인 차원에서 이들을 통제하는 현실을 극복하고자 하는데, 이는 개인을 억압하는 불안정한 사회에 대한 극복 의지로 확장된다. 이때 포스트휴먼 캐릭터들은 동일한 고민을 가지고 있는 다른 캐릭터와 조에적인 관계를 수립한다. 캐릭터가 형성한 유대감과 조에적 관계는 캐릭터의 개별 서사를 연결하는 통합적 스토리월드에서 발현되고 나아가 확장된다. 즉 다양한 스토리월드를 중첩하고 통합하는 과정을 통해 캐릭터들의 조에적인 관계와 유대감을 강조한다. 이처럼 마블 시네마틱 유니버스에서는 타인과 연대할 때 현실을 극복할 수 있음을 시사한다. 나아가 정보와 기술이 진보하여 급변하고 불안정해진 현실을 살아가야 할 동시대 대중이 나아가야 할 방향을 대안적으로 제시하고 있다. The human who can not live an indivisible life with information and technology due to the development of digital technology, has become as a hybrid subject that can not be defined according to the binary system which has been suggested by the classical humanism. Accordingly, the progress of information and technology accompanies the ontological worries of human and the desire to overcome the helpless human body. Those worries and curiosity about hybrid identity are expressed through the protagonist characters who are not included in ‘human’ category suggested by the classical humanism appearing in the digital media. The Marvel Cinematic Universe which has introduced posthuman characters in over 80% of the entire work, reflects the desire of the public. Therefore this study aims to reveal the humanistic implication of posthuman characters by analyzing various agents in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Cinematic Universe is consist of the post body characters who meditate the human body, and the post ego characters who have agency regardless of the possession of physical body. Due to a certain event, the post body characters experience a change from normal human beings to superhumans by strengthening the biological function, acquiring the superpower, or combining their bodies with the mechanical device. In the case of post ego characters, although they do not have human bodies, they make decisions as if they are human characters and implement values that they believe. Because each type of the character doesn't have normative human body which is suggested by classical humanism, the posthuman characters in Marvel Cinematic Universe collapse the boundary between human and non-human in common. Marvel Cinematic Universe represents the aspect of posthuman character who acts with independent attitude by using information and technology actively, or is oppressed by society even if the character is a superhuman hero. Moreover, through the representation, it expresses the anxiety about society which is rapidly changing, the fear of technology development, and the desire to overcome the limitation of human being. However, posthuman characters are not frustrated at uncertain reality and the world which is in danger. These characters try to overcome the reality that controls them on individual level. And their attempts are extended to the determination to overcome an unstable society that oppresses the individuals. In order to overcome the crisis, posthuman characters establish zoetic relationships with other characters who have experienced the same problems. The zoetic relationship and a sense of fellowship that the characters have created, are expressed and expanded in the integrated storyworlds which connects every single storyworld. In other words, Marvel Cinematic Universe emphasizes the zoetic relationship and fellowship between characters through the process of overlapping and integrating various storyworlds. As a result, Marvel Cinematic Universe suggests that human beings in posthuman society could overcome reality when they cooperate with others. Furthermore, it offers alternative directions for the contemporary public who have to live in reality which is unstable and rapidly changing due to the progress of information and technology.
