There have been continuous efforts for developing the automatic mechanical design system to increase the efficiency of the tedious design process. However, these efforts have been concentrated on single platform application. Hence, the developed systems have been available only in a designated place and time and have been difficult to modify. It is proposed in this study that a web-based design system is developed to offer more reliability and convenience without any restriction of time and place. The developed system is programmed based on Java, and the architecture of the system has object-oriented features of Servlet and JSP and is independent on any operating systems. The developed system has been applied to the initial design of multi-stage gear drives, but however as the framework of the developed system is quite versatile, its application to automatic design of any mechanical system or evaluation can be easily expected.

A methodology is proposed to share the design information of a gear drive using XML (eXtensible Markup Language). XML is the standard language of the next generation and can be used as a neutral and unique format shared by various Web applications. Since XML is a platform-independent meta-markup language, it is possible to reduce the additional programming efforts for Web applications by using the standardization of technical terminologies. In this study, the structure of design information about gears, shafts, keys and bearings in a gear drive has been made and the terminologies used in the gear drive design process have been authored. The XML DTD(Data Type Definition) for the gear drive design has been declared and the usage of the XML application has been shown.

본 논문에서는 이러한 점에 대처하고 얇은 림 내접치차의 이뿌리응력을 해석, 이 결과를 종합하여 얇은 림 내접치차의 이뿌리응력을 간편하게 계산할 수 있는 근사 계산식을 작성한다. 또 스트레인게이지에 의한 이뿌리응력의 실측치와 이계산식에 의한 계산응력치를 비교검토하여 이 계산식의 계산정밀도 및 신뢰성을 검토하기로 한 다.

본 연구에서는 기계요소중에서도 그 성능에 미치는 인자의 수가 많고 또 그 영향이 복잡하고 난해하며 아직도 경험적 요소가 수많이 남아있으면서도 공업적으로 매우 중요한 동력전달용 치차장치를 예로 들어 그 설계, 제작, 손상 및 트러블슈팅을 하기 위한 엑스퍼트시스템을 개발하려고 한다. This paper proposes an approach of building an expert system for designing gear drives. In terms of gear drives the relationship between expert systems and data base systems is explained and a data base system for design, failure detection, and trouble-shooting of gear drives is built on a personal computer by the data manipulation language of dBASE III. This paper proposes a method how to build a data base system and what to consider to build a data base system for gear drives and two kinds of data base systems of design and failure detection of gear drives and trouble-shooting for noise and vibration of gear drives are built. The two data base systems are very effective for the retrieval of information for the gear design, and they will be considerably helpful for the gear design.

본 연구에서는 동력전달용 인벌류우트 원통치차(스퍼어 및 헬리컬 기어)의 강 도 및 각종 영향인자를 충분히 고려하면서 크기를 최소로 하는 치차장치의 설계법을 개발하고, 이 설계법을 기본으로 하여 퍼스널 컴퓨터 상에서 누구나 손쉽게 설계에 이 용할 수 있는 설계 시스템을 개발하여 그 평가를 수행한다. A computer-aided design system of involute cylindrical gears(spur and helical gears) for power transmission is developed, in which the volume of a gear unit is minimized with satisfying various design constraints. As the design constraints, bending strength and pitting resistance of AGMA 218.01, scoring of Dudley's flash temperature, contact ratio, and involute interference of pinion are considered and effective factors for strength calculation(life, reliability, hardness ratio, load distribution, velocity, etc.) are also included. This complicated nonlinear optimization problem is solved by using ALM(Augmented-Lagrange-Multiplier) method with self scaling BFGS(Broydon-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno) method employed for unconstrained optimization programming. This design method can be easily applied to designing power transmission gear unit in the machines of various kinds. It is expected for the proposed method to be a contribution for an automated design of gear unit towards weight minimization, miniaturization and high strength of gear unit.
체적과 신뢰성을 동시에 고려한 다단 기어장치의 최적설계

This paper is focused on the optimum design for decreasing volume and increasing reliability of multi-stage gear drive. The genetic algorithm is introduced to multi-objective optimization method and it is used to make the optimum design program to divide the gear ratio and determine the gear size, using exterior penalty function method to solve the complicated subject conditions. A 5 staged gear drive(geared motor) is chosen to compare the developed optimum design with the existing design. It is performed by volume objectives, reliability objectives, and multi-objectives. The above results are estimated by comparing each evaluated optimum design with the existing design. As a result, optimum solution is produced, which decreases volume and. increases reliability by putting the weight on the multi-objective function appropriately.
