Pheochromocytoma is a tumor which secretes catecholamine and produces remarkable hemodynamic changes during the perioperative period. It is reported that in cases where a patient with undiagnosed pheochromocytoma is operated on, the mortality rate can reach 25% to 50%. The subject in this study was a 55-year-old female patient who was diagnosed having a retroperitoneal mass which looked like a neurogenic tumor. During the manipulation, serious hypertension and tachycardia were developed. The authors at that time suspected a pheochromocytoma, interrupted the operation, and after insertion of arterial line and sodium nitroprusside infusion, the rest of the operation was restarted. After the extirpation of the tumor, as the patient suffered serious hypotension, the concentration of the inhalation agent was reduced, ephedrine was injected, the proper amount of fluid and blood were administered, and, as a result, the operation was carried out safely, and postoperative course was unremarkable. 칸트의 정언명령에 대한 짐멜(Georg Simmel)의 비판적 재구성: 청년 짐멜의 도덕사회학 시론에 관한 연구

The main purpose of this article is to present the criticism of the young Simmel on philosophical ethics, centering on his discussion of ‘categorical imperative’. This part of Simmel’s thinking has rarely been adapted in philosophical circles at home and abroad, Text subject to my analysis is the Einleitung in die Moralwissenschaft. Eine Kritik der Etischen Grundbegriffe. By the way, I would like to suggest also that what he calls “descriptive ethics” already anticipates much of the moral-sociological proposition that Luhman later presents. Simmel points out that the basic concepts used by philosophical ethics are indefinite in meaning and boundary and can be combined with completely contradictory principles. Simmel’s goal is to criticize those basic concepts of ethics and to prepare for a science of moral phenomena. I would like to use his discussion of the categorical imperative as a clue to see in detail how he goes out of philosophical ethics toward moral sociology through the critical reconstruction of philosophical ethics itself.

‘규제적 원리’로서의 사회주의 - 짐멜의 사회주의론 -

This article seeks to bring the fragmentary references to socialism, which are scattered throughout the writings of Georg Simmel (1858-1918), into a more coherent picture. Simmel defined socialism early as a “regulative principle”. This determination of the young Simmel remains relatively consistent thereafter, and I consider this concept to be the most useful channel to explain Simmel's position on socialism. According to Simmel, the biggest problem of the socialist theory is the claim of completeness in matters in which theoretical perfection is impossible. Adhering to the theoretical perfection of socialism leads to a corresponding change of man and society, but at a high price. Simmel suggests “the ideal of continuity” rather than perfect equality, and I want to say that today it is very interesting and convincing for explaining social equality. 이 논문의 목적은 짐멜(Georg Simmel, 1858-1918)의 저술 곳곳에흩어져 있는 사회주의에 대한 단편적 언급들을 보다 정합적인 하나의 형상으로 맞추어보는 것이다. 짐멜은 일찍부터 사회주의를 하나의 ‘규제적 원리’(ein regulatives Prinzip)로 규정하였다. 청년기의 이 규정은 이후에도비교적 일관성 있게 유지되는데, 나는 이 개념이 사회주의에 대한 짐멜의입장을 설명하는 가장 유용한 통로가 될 수 있다고 판단한다. 짐멜이 보기에 사회주의 이론의 가장 큰 문제점은 이론적 완결성이 불가능한 사안에완결성을 주장하는 데서 나온다. 사회주의의 이론적 완결성을 고수하려면인간과 사회를 그에 맞게, 하지만 많은 대가를 치르면서, 바꾸는 길밖에 없다. 짐멜은 완전한 평등 대신 ‘연속성의 이상’(das Ideal der Kontinuität)을 제안하는데, 나는 이 구상이 오늘날에도 사회적 평등 문제를 설명하는데 매우 흥미롭고 상당한 설득력을 갖는다는 점을 밝히고자 한다.

루만은 사회학적 통찰, 정치적 태도, 글쓰기 스타일까지 겔렌과 많은 공통성을 보인다. 그런데도 루만이 자신의 이론에서 겔렌에게 빚진 것으로인정하는 부분은 매우 적으며, 그나마 거의 초기 저작에 한정되어 있다. 나는먼저 루만의 사회이론에 남아 있는 겔렌의 사회학의 흔적을 조명하고자 한다. 이 작업은 겔렌의 ‘부담 경감’ 개념과 루만의 ‘복잡성 축소’ 개념의 비교를 통해수행된다. 나아가 나는 겔렌의 사회학이 루만의 사회학에 비해 가질 수 있는 강점을 부각시키고자 한다. 이 작업은 루만의 ‘기능적 분화’ 이론을 겔렌의 ‘거대구조’ 이론과 비교하는 것을 통해, 그리고 인격 이론에서 두 사회학자를 비교함으로써 수행된다. 마지막에는 겔렌의 ‘금욕’ 이론이 갖는 실천적 함의가 다뤄진다. Luhmann has a lot of similarities with Gehlen, including sociologicalinsights, political attitudes, and even writing style. Nevertheless,Luhmann doesn’t admit readily to owing much to Gehlen in histheory. Even when he reluctantly does, it is almost limited to earlyworks. I first want to highlight the traces of Gehlen’s sociology thatremain in Luhmann’s social theory. It will be done by comparingGehlen’s concept of ‘Entlastung’(‘relief’) with Luhmann’s conceptof’Komplexitätsredution’(’complexity reduction’). Furthermore, I willemphasize the strong points of Gehlen’s sociology above Luhmann’s. This will be carried out by comparing Luhmann’s ‘functionaldifferentiation’ theory with Gehlen’s ‘superstructure’ theory and bycomparing the two sociologists in personality theories. Finally, I willlook into the practical implications of Gehlen’s ‘abstinence’ theory.
