The success of human in vitro fertilization (IVF) & embryo transfer (ET) has focused attention on the culture conditions that can provide optimal development of the preimplantation embryo. Studies of in vitro fertilization using mouse have direct implications to human IVF, since similar conditions are used for both species. Mouse IVF as a quality control system for human IVF & ET was studied since Feb., 1984. The results were as follows: 1. Egg retrieval following superovulation in IeR mice was l5.1${\pm}$5.3 eggs ovulated/mouse (Mean${\pm}$ S.D.) 2. In vitro cleavage rate was 61.7% (1146 eggs cleaved/l858 eggs inseminated) and % blastocyst was 42.6%. 3. In comparison with two media of Ham's F-10 and m-KRB, in vitro cleavage rate were 40.9%/63.l% and %blastocyst were 44.3%/61.2% (P<0.05). 4. It was concluded that mouse IVF system has a valuable place in human IVF & ET as a quality-control system and in human reproductive physiology as a research model.

Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection is frequently found in any ASD(atrial septal defect) patients. These patients are usually symptomatic, therefore, easily diagnosed as just simple ASD. We experienced a case of a 37-year-old female patient with ASD in which the left upper pulmonary vein was connected to SVC by the left inominate vein. The patient was diagnosed as simple ASD previously. During cardiac catheterization, we found a meaningful oxygen saturation step up between the SVC and its upper portion. Angiogram confirmed PAPVC. The surgical correction of anastomosis of PAPVC with left atrial appendage and direct closure of ASD were done. The patient was discharged 15 days later.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of drink including dietary fiber supplementation and regulatory exercise on body composition and blood profile concerning obesity of women. Twenty young healthy but on mild obesity women were participated as a subject, Body composition and blood profile were measured before and after 6 weeks' supplementation and exercise, The results of this study were as follows: First, Body composition concerning obesity such as body weight(p=.0001) and %body fat(p=.0001) after 6weeks' dietary fiber supplementation and exercise was decreased significantly. Second, blood profile concerning obesity such as TC(p=.0001), LDL-C(p=.0001) and TG(p=.0002.) after 6weeks' dietary fiber supplementation and exercise was decreased significantly. This results suggested that drink including dietary fiber supplementation and regulatory exercise should be recommended as a effective method for cure and prevention obesity.
