        대학탁구선수의 진로선택과 대학탁구의 경쟁력강화를 위한 질적 연구 - 2021청두 세계대학경기대회에 참여한 대학대표팀을 대상으로

        본 연구는 탁구종목을 중심으로 국제적 수준에서 경쟁력 저하의 원인을 파악하고, 현재 대학탁구의 문제점과 원인, 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2021청두 세계대학경기대회에 국가대표자격으로 참석한 대표선수10명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여, 그들의 대학입학과정과 대학에서의 선수활동, 세계대학경기대회에서의 경험에 대해 심층 면접을 진행하였다. 주요 결과는다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 참여자들은 프로로의 진출을 희망했지만, 기량미달 등의 사유로 대학에 진학할 수밖에 없었다. 둘째, 대학 선수로 활동하며 소외된 감정을 느꼈으며, 환경적 요인에 의해 선수로서의 정체성이 희미해졌다. 셋째, 차선책으로 대학에 진학했지만 대학 생활을 통해 선수로서의 기량을 발전시켰다. 넷째, 대학탁구의 경쟁력을 강화와 독자적 시스템 구축으로 진로진출 시 대학선택을 배제하는 현재의 기형적 구조를 타개할 필요가 있다. This study analyzed the causes of the decline in competitiveness at the international level, the current problems of university table tennis, and ways to improve competitiveness, focusing on the sport of table tennis. To this end, 10 representative players who attended the 2021 Chengdu World University Games were selected as participants in the study and were interviewed about their experiences at their universities and competitions. Key findings include First, the participants had hoped to go pro, but were forced to go to college due to inadequate skills. Second, they felt marginalized as college athletes, and their identity as athletes was blurred by environmental factors. Third, they went to college as the next best option, but they developed their skills as players through college life. Fourth, it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of college table tennis and establish an independent system to include college as a career option.

        Rooibos™: Automated schedule broadcast software for clinical pharmacology studies

        Pharmacokinetic blood sampling is a prerequisite for successful early clinical trials. It is essential to take samples at the precise designated times to ensure the reliability of the clinical trial data; howev¬er, investigators have encountered difficulties in conducting procedures with limited manpower. We have recently developed automated schedule broadcast software (Rooibos™) to manage the precise scheduling of procedures for clinical trial centers. Rooibos™ is platform independent because it is programmed in the Java language. It generates scheduled times based on a reference time. It alarms at the scheduled times and pages subjects and alerts staff to prepare for the upcoming procedures. Rooibos™ can also group subjects when multiple clinical trials are conducted simultaneously in one or more clinical trial wards. This software may be applied to any study involving procedures that must be performed at designated times.

        극소 저출생 체중아의 동맥관 개존증의 치료에 사용되는 경구용 Ibuprofen과 정주용 Indomethacin의 효과 비교

        Purpose: Ibuprofen and indomethacin has been used in treatment of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in Korea. But, there were few reports about oral ibuprofen for the treatment of PDA. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral ibuprofen versus intravenous indomethacin for the treatment of PDA in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants. Methods: A retrospective study of VLBW infants treated with oral ibuprofen or intravenous indomethacin for symptomatic PDA at Inje University Sanggye Paik Hospital between February 2002 and April 2012 was performed. Results: We identified 43 infants that received oral ibuprofen and 9 infants that received intravenous indomethacin. There were no significant differences in the efficacy and safety between oral ibuprofen group and intravenous indomethacin group. There was no significant difference between the use of oral ibuprofen before 48 hours after birth and after 48 hours the efficacy and safety. Conclusion: In our study, oral ibuprofen appears to be as effective as intravenous indomethacin for the treatment of PDA in VLBW infants with similar complication rates. 목적: 극소 저체중 출생아 동맥관 개존증의 약물 치료로 경구용 ibuprofen과 정주용 indomethacin의 효과 및 부작용을 비교분석해 보고 경구용 ibuprofen군 내에서도 48시간 이전에 사용한 경우와 이후에 사용한 경우를 나누어 각 군에서의 효과와 부작용의 차이를 조사하여 경구용 ibuprofen 제제의 효용성과 치료 시기 결정에 대한 실마리를 얻고자 하였다. 방법: 2002년 2월부터 2012년 4월까지 인제대학교 상계백병원 소아청소년과에서 출생한 재태연령 32주 미만이면서 출생체중 1,500 g 미만인 신생아 중 혈역학적으로 의미 있는 동맥관 개존증으로 치료받은 52명 중 정주용 indomethacin 투여군 9명과 경구용 ibuprofen 투여군 43명을 대상으로 약물의 효능과 부작용을 후향적인 방법으로 조사하여 비교 분석하였다. 결과: 각 군에서 첫 번째 주기 약물 치료 후 반응을 보인 환아는 정주용 indomethacin 투여군 전체 9명 중 7명, 경구용ibuprofen 투여군 43명 중 35명으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(77.8% vs 81.3%, P=0.802). 부작용 측면에서도 유의한 차이는 없었다. 경구용 ibuprofen 투여군 내에서 48시간 이전에 사용한 경우와 48시간 이후에 사용한 경우 효능과 부작용측면에서의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 결론: 극소저체중 출생아에 있어 동맥관 개존증의 치료에 경구용 ibuprofen이 정주용 indomethacin에 비해 효능과 부작용 면에서도 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 보임에 따라 저렴하면서도 간단하게 사용할 수 있는 경구용 ibuprofen의 사용이 권장될 수 있겠다.

        Effect of aspect ratio of elliptical inlet shape on performance of subsonic diffusing S-duct

        The aerodynamic characteristics of S-ducts with various inlet shapes were analyzed using a commercial computational fluid dynamics tool. This study aimed to investigate the influence of the aspect ratio of inlet geometry for an RAE M 2129 S-duct. The computational results were validated using experimental data from the Aircraft Research Association. The performance of the S-duct was influenced by the location of the counter-rotating vortex on the engine face. When the center of the vortex was near the starboard side, the performance was poor. By contrast, performance increased as the counter-rotating vortex moved away from the starboard side. The center of the counter-rotating vortex of the upper half semicircular S-duct was far from the starboard side, whereas that of the lower half semicircular Sduct was near the starboard side. In conclusion, S-ducts with upper half semicircular shape had better performance than those with other inlet shapes. The AR(0.75,0) case delivered the best performance, whereas the AR(1,1) case exhibited the worst.

        Nobiletin attenuates neurotoxic mitochondrial calcium overload through K+ influx and ΔΨm across mitochondrial inner membrane

        Mitochondrial calcium overload is a crucial event in determining the fate of neuronal cell survival and death, implicated in pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. One of the driving forces of calcium influx into mitochondria is mitochondria membrane potential (ΔΨm). Therefore, pharmacological manipulation of ΔΨm can be a promising strategy to prevent neuronal cell death against brain insults. Based on these issues, we investigated here whether nobiletin, a Citrus polymethoxylated flavone, prevents neurotoxic neuronal calcium overload and cell death via regulating basal ΔΨm against neuronal insult in primary cortical neurons and pure brain mitochondria isolated from rat cortices. Results demonstrated that nobiletin treatment significantly increased cell viability against glutamate toxicity (100 μM, 20 min) in primary cortical neurons. Real-time imaging-based fluorometry data reveal that nobiletin evokes partial mitochondrial depolarization in these neurons. Nobiletin markedly attenuated mitochondrial calcium overload and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in glutamate (100 μM)-stimulated cortical neurons and isolated pure mitochondria exposed to high concentration of Ca2+ (5 μM). Nobiletininduced partial mitochondrial depolarization in intact neurons was confirmed in isolated brain mitochondria using a fluorescence microplate reader. Nobiletin effects on basal ΔΨm were completely abolished in K+-free medium on pure isolated mitochondria. Taken together, results demonstrate that K+ influx into mitochondria is critically involved in partial mitochondrial depolarization–related neuroprotective effect of nobiletin. Nobiletin-induced mitochondrial K+ influx is probably mediated, at least in part, by activation of mitochondrial K+ channels. However, further detailed studies should be conducted to determine exact molecular targets of nobiletin in mitochondria.
