소평펀치시험을 이용한 고온수소침투 손상된 A53B 탄소강 배관의 강도 특성 분석

High temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA) is a damage process of grain boundary facets due to chemical reaction of carbides with hydrogen, forming cavities with high pressure methane gas. Driven by the methane gas pressure, the cavities grow to grain boundaries and form intergranular micro cracks. In this study, an example accident occurred at a recycle oil pipe of a heavy oil unit operated in Korea was studied. SP(small punch) test were performed with several types of test specimens directly machined from the accident pipe to investigate the characteristics of the mechanical property change in hydrogen attacked A53B carbon steel. The SP(small punch) test results show that maximum reaction forces, SP energy and ductility decrease at the hydrogen attacked part of the pipe compared with the outside data.
