        This study was carried out to compare the effects of suckercides - Fatty alcohol(FA), Maleic hydrazide(MH) and Butralin - on the sucker control and growing characters of flue-cured tobacco leaves. Among the three suckercides, Butralin was treated at three different times, one day before topping, topping day and one day after topping, and at two different concentration, 1/30 and 1/60 water solution. The results are summarized as follows. Suckercide treated plot showed higher growth and weight of upper leaves than not-treated plots did. MH treated plot decreased numbers, fresh weight and dry weight of suckers compared to the other treated plots, and made the leaves shape narrow. The effect of Butralin on sucker control was lower than that of MH, but higher than that of FA. The yields when treated Butralin decreased compared to the yields when treated MH. Though there were no significant differences of yields and growing characters of leaves among the plots of three concentrations and two times of treating Butralin, it is recommended to apply 1/60 water solution of Butralin at topping time.

        Three compartment stool tank system was established in March, 1965 to each of the houses . of Yongheungri, Cheju-do. The trend of parasites prevalence, faithfulness of the people to paractice the system and effectiveness of the system for destruction of ascaris eggs were examined. 1. Only 22 houses among 65 utilized the system for 3 years. The remained 43, gave up to practice; 10 because of the destruction of the cemented tank and 33 due to the shortage of. food stuffs, for hogs. In this island, the people have been raised hogs with human excrets. 2. The prevalence of ascaris infection in the village and in Sinwom-ri, a control village where the human feces were used as food stuffs for hog, were as follows: Yongheung(%) Sinwom(%) March 1965 before medication 52.0 43.0 Dec. 1965 after medication 15.1 21.2 Feb. 1968 22.7 30.8 3. Ascaris eggs in the 3rd compartment, were destroyed 94-100%, whereas the eggs in semi-formed feces in hog sty survived 94%.

      • D-Amino Acid Aminotransferase 활성보유 고온성미생물의 탐색 및 분류학적 특성 연구

        To acquire an industrially useful biocatalyst for the enzymatic synthesis and production of various D-amino acids, 1,300 thermophiles isolated from the soil of Korea were analyzed for D-amino acid aminotransferase (D-AAT) activity. The enzyme activity was found from 110 strains of isolated thermophiles revealing its wide occurrence in thermophiles. Enzyme activity and thermal stability of the D-AAT producers were compared. Finally we have selected four thermophiles as producers of potent biocatalysts for the D-amino acid production; two therrnophiles, Bacillus sp. LK-I and LK-2, having higher specific activity and two thermophiles, B. stearothermophilus KL-01 and Bacillus sp. KLS-0l, having higher thermal stability than the D-AAT producers. Taxonomic and physiological characteristics of the four isolated thermophiles were described herein.

      • Ginkgolide B의 Guinea Pig 적출 심장에 대한 허혈 유발후 Reperfusion 시의 보호 작용에 관한 연구

        The cardiac effects of PAF antagonist Ginkgolide B(BN 52051) have been investigated on the isolated perfused guinea pig hearts maintained at the constant hydrostatic perfusion pressure of 80 ㎝ water. PDE(Phosphodiesterase) inhibitor KR-30289 was used as a positive control to see the positive inotropic effects on the perfused hearts. In this expriments, Ginkgolide B(10^(-5)M) showed negative inotropic effects by decreasing of LVP, LVDP, LV dp/dt, HR and RPP(Rate Pressure Product). Ginkgolide B also decreased the number of extrasystole by 51.9% (from 23.75±9.22/min to 11.43±4.35/min) induced by global ischemia and reperfusion. The rate, [-dp/dt]/[+dp/dt] increased in preischemia but decreased in postischemia. In the separated study the injection of 1㎖ of Ginkgolide B(10^-4M) on the isolated heart, increased coronary flow(CF) by 11.8% (from 7.5±0.65㎖/min to 8.5±0.29㎖/min) and decreased the number of extrasystole by 47.6% (from 21±5.92/min to 11±5.27/min). In conclusion, Ginkgolide B showed antiarrhythmic and protective effects by decreasing the number of extrasystole and by increasing the coronary flow, respectively.

      • AES-128 Rijndael 암·복호 알고리듬의 하드웨어 구현

        본 논문에서는 미국 국립표준기술연구소(NIST)에서 채택한 차세대 암호 표준인 Rijndael 암호 알고리듬을 하드웨어로 구현한다. 효율적인 연산을 위해 라운드를 2개의 부분 라운드로 나누고 부분 라운드 간에 파이프라인을 사용하였으며, 1 라운드 연산시 평균적으로 5클록이 소요된다. AES-128 암호 알고리듬을 ALTERA PPGA를 사용하여 하드웨어로 구현 후 성능을 분석하였다. 구현된 AES-128 암호 알고리듬은 암·복호화시 최대 90 Mhz의 동작 주파수와 약 230 Mbps의 암·복호율을 얻을 수 있었다. In this paper, Rijindal cipher algorithm is implemented by a hardware. It is selected as the AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) by NIST. The processor has structure that round operation divided into 2 subrounds and subrounds are pipelined to calculate efficiently. It takes 5 clocks for one-round. The AES-128 cipher algorithm is implemented for hardware by ALTERA FPGA, and then, analyzed the performance. The AES-128 cipher algorithm has approximately 230 Mbps encryption·decryption rate for 90Mhz max clock frequency.

      • JPEG2000 영상압축을 위한 EBCOT 설계

        고품질의 영상 압축기인 JPEG2000의 기본 압축 코덱인 EBCOT(Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation)를 설계하였다. 영상 압축기에서 Context 추출 구현을 위하여 코드블록(Code block)으로 분할하고, 비트 플랜(Bit-Plane)코딩을 했으며, Three Pass Check블록을 두어 3번의 스캔과정을 한번으로 줄여 3배 정도 빠르게 Context를 추출할 수 있었으며, 패스 그룹별로 ZC, RLC, MR, SC를 하였다. 추출된 Context들을 일괄적으로 산술부호화기에 전달하기 위해 메모리 블록 대신 레지스터를 사용하여 회로를 간단하게 하였다. 산술부호화는 덧셈 연산과 쉬프트 연산만을 사용하는 MQ-coder를 사용하였으며, Context들의 누적 확률을 추정하여 테이블을 작성하였고, 압축데이터를 산출하였다. 영상 압축을 위한 엔트로피 코더의 하드웨어 구현은 VHDL를 이용하여 설계를 하고, Synopsys사의 논리 회로 합성 도구를 사용하여 합성을 하였으며, Altera사의 FLEX 10k250 Device를 이용하여 FPGA로 구현하였다. This paper intruduces design of EBCOT(Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation) that is basic compressing codec of JPEG2000, high quality image compressor. Context-extraction implementation is to separate code-block to some bit-plane, and as processing four coding matching three pass with relation of neighbor samples and previous bit-plane, Context and Decision can be extracted. By placing Three Check Block, scaning progress is reduced to 1, so it is possible to extract Context faster than three times. At every each pass ZC, RLC, MR, SC was used. Circuit could be simplified by using register instead of memory block to tranfer contexts to arithmetic coder. In Arithmetic coding, Mq-coder is used to perform add and shift operation, probability estimation table can be built and compressed-data can be turned out. The entropy coder described in VHDL and synthesized by Synopsis tool and they are implemented in FPGA of Altera FLEX 10k250 type.
