In order to investigate the acute toxicity of autoxidized methyl linoleate(AOML) on the activity of serum enzymes in the mouse, we administered once 0.45ml of AOML to ICR strain mouse by using stomach tube. The following results were obtained: The total lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) activities in the serum of AOML group were generally increased than those of normal group. According to electrophoresis, the activities of LDH, were increased while those of LDH, were decreased. The activities of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT) and α-amylase in the serum of AOML group were increased more than those of normal group. The activities of alkaline phosphatase in the serum of AOML group were increased but those of isozyme were not confirmed in the normal and AOML group. In the serum protein of AOML group, albumin was increased, on the other hand r-globulin was decreased. At the peripheral blood slide smear, lymphocytes were significantly decreased but neutrophils were increased and the morphological change of erythrocytes was observed. From there results we conclude that the AOML fed to mouse influences on the activity of various serum enzymes and blood cells in the mouse.

적외선 분광법으로 레졸형과 노볼락형 페놀 수지를 정성적으로 확인하고, 열경화시의 화학 구조의 변화를 알아 보았다. 노볼락형 페놀 수지는 10μ에서 강한 흡수 피이크를 나타내었으며, 레졸형 페놀 수지는 6.3μ에서 벤젠 스펙트럼의 끝 부분이 두 갈래로 갈라져 나타났다. 이것은 두 종류의 페놀 수지를 구별하는데 유용한 스펙트럼이다. 또, 6.3μ과 8.1μ에서 나타나는 벤젠기와 페놀기의 흡광도가 일정하게 유지되는 것으로 보아 열에 의하여 주로 벤젠고리의 C-H 결합이 변화된다는 것을 확이하였으며, C-H결합이 많이 변할 수록 유기 용매에 불용성으로 된다는 것도 아울러 알게 되었다.

AOM and lamp tests were carried out with soybean, corn, palm oil and beef tallow without the addition of antioxidant. The evaluation of rancidity for the stability was determined by changes of peroxide value and acid value, and the correlation between the stability and the composition of fats and oils was examined. The results obtained were as follows. 1. In the AOM test, POV began to rise in the order of corn oil, soybean oil, beef tallow and palm oil. However, the time required to reach POV 100 in beef tallow was faster than other fats and oils. It was found that there was a good correlation between POV and content of tocophrol. 2. In the lamp test by light of main wavelength 253.7nm, beef tallow was stabler than soybean and corn oil. It was because the absorption of light into beef tallow was much smaller than others, since beef tallow was fats. Palm oil was very stable in all the samples during AOM and lamp test.

추출폴라로그래피법을 利用하여 Cu(Ⅱ)를 定量하는 方法에 對하여 검토하였다. 水溶液中 Cu(Ⅱ)를 시트르산암모늄 완충용액(pH=10)에서 DDTC(Diethyl dithiocarbamate) The extraction-polarographic method applied to the determination of micro amount of copper(Ⅱ). Copper(Ⅱ) was extracted into chloroform layer containing diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) as Cu(Ⅱ)-D.D.T.C. complex from ammonia-ammonium citrate buffered aquous solution of pH 10 and the alternating current polarogram for the extract was recorded after addition of potassium chloride as supporting electrolyte. This method can be used for determination of the ppb order of copper (Ⅱ) in water with an error of ±10%.
컴퓨터단층촬영에서 3차원 재구성 영상을 통한 개의 골절 진단

Three dimensional computed tomographic images were obtained in two cases with trauma. The first case of a 3 year-old male Maltese, with ataxia and head tilting due to head trauma was referred to veterinary medical teaching hospital, Seoul National University. Remarkable findings were not found on survey radiographs. With the help of three-dimensional reconstruction computed tomographic imaging, parietal and occipital bone fracture was identified. The second case of 4 month-old female Yorkshire terrier with left forelimb lameness was referred right after trauma. Survey radiography showed obvious incongruity of the elbow joint. Lateral and medial condyle of the left humerus fracture and lateral displacement of the left ulna were apparent in three-dimensional computed tomographic image. It was considered that three-dimensional computed tomography could be used as an aid modality for the exact evaluation of extends and degree of fracture as well as planning of orthopedic surgery.
개에서 컴퓨터 단층 촬영 검사를 통한 추간판 탈출증 진단례

An appearance of herniated intervertebral disc into thoracolumbar vertebral canal was evaluated in two patients using computed tomography (CT). Before CT scanning, plain radiography and myelography were performed in both cases. CT images were compared to those of myelography. Dogs were positioned in sternal recumbency under inhalation anesthesia and transverse slices with 2mm thickness were obtained around thoracolumbar region. The transverse CT images were examined using both vertebral and spiral window mode. The most common findings on CT images were loss of vertebral canal epidural fat, bulging of vertebral canal disc margins, displacement of spinal cord and flatted vertebral canal. Whereas, narrowed intervertebral disc space and simple extradural pattern were the main findings on plain and contrast radiographs. CT imges showed the extent of the herniated disc lesion, type II intervertebral disc hernation, and the displacement of spinal cord in detail in both occations. It is considered that degree and precise localization of the intervertebral disc herniation and subtle lesion of spinal cord could be identified accurately using computed tomography.
