        제1차 교육과정 시기의 초등학교 특별활동 교육과정 운영에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to look at the actual implementation of the elementary school curriculum for the co curricular activities in the period of the first national curriculum. After synthesizing the results and reflecting on the purpose of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, from the 1945 Liberation of Korea to the period of the first national curriculum, co curricular activities were implemented as the name of extra-curricular activities. Under the influence of the New Education Movement and the Curriculum Reform Movement, various extra activities were implemented. The idea of learner-centered was reflected in the curriculum. It can be said, however, this curriculum was incomplete because of its lack of specific contents. Secondly, the Club activities were the area of being most actively operated. The teachers tried to develop their students` talents with passion and the students had nearly perfect attendance in their clubs. The clubs were operated during the whole school year. The social and economic conditions at that time were reflected in the volunteer activities. Field days, field trips, and exhibitions of student works were held, but those were slightly different from those of contemporary times. The narrators recognized that the co curricular activities at that time pursued its own nature. Lastly, the analysis of the student records revealed that various clubs were organized and operated. Most of the clubs were related to subject matters. Many portions of the students` descriptions of the activities did not reflect the nature of the co curricular activities. The characteristics of the students` social behaviors in schools were mainly described and there was no consistency in the evaluations on the students` social behaviors in schools in terms of domains and viewpoints.

        특별활동 연구에서 질적 접근의 가치와 가능성 탐색

        The discussion of the extra-curricular activities as one of the curriculum framework can be approached in various ways. At a glance, we may find the problem of the research on extracurriculum. The research on extracurriculum can be expected to play a much larger role in the educational world in the future. The extracurriculum should not be addressed in a trivial way in educational research. Furthermore the approach to the extracurriculum should overcome the biased conception and research method. The purpose of this study is to search the possibility of qualitative approach in the extracurriculum research. There are many critics about the nature and trends of extracurriculum research. We have discussed the problem which lean to one-sided in the extracurriculum research. The problem we have founded are as follows; a approach poor in logic and consciousness, heavy bias to the management, lean to the simple frequency analysis and empirical study, and research findings irrelevant to field, and meager quantitative approach. Now the orientation of the extracurriculum research should be reconceptualized on the basis of meaning making, student life and school culture. These research bases are actively exemplified in the qualitative research. The qualitative research gives many method and information to the extracurriculum researcher. The notion of quantitative research on the extracurriculum have overwhelmed the practice of teacher thinking in the situation of curriculum development. So, the biased conception of the extracurriculum research often brings about many problems in the extracurriculum development and implementation. So we need to search the extracurriculum as thoughtful researcher on the basis of qualitative approach.

        Backward Design을 통한 교육과정 설계: 교과의 진정한 이해를 위한 한 구상

        This study is to search the possibility of the authentic understanding of subject knowledge in schooling. There are many critics about the cause of misunderstanding of subject knowledge in context of subject matter education. The most important problems are discussed in ways of explicating the activity-based curriculum design and coverage-based design. Our students fail in understanding subject knowledge because of these problems. We should prepare our students for authentic understanding of curriculum contents. In line of deep understanding of educational content, Wiggins and McTighe proposed backward design for understanding for design. We discussed the nature, characteristics, and procedures of backward design and explained the empirical effect of backward design through questionnaire method and statistical analysis. The results of analysis are explained by meaningful tendencies of subjects and quantitative data. We understand backward design in view of authentic understanding with various layers, return of structure of knowledge, and teaching embedded in feel of subject matter. The teaching toward of authentic understanding made teacher involve whole growth of student by backward design.

        학교교육에서 문화적 역량 모델링의 가능성 탐구

        The purpose of this study is to preliminarily study the nature of the cultural competence modeling in schooling. Conceptions of competence are discussed in various ways in sphere of general and special education. There are many critics about the nature and epistemological stance of educational objectives and contents. As for the alternative of traditional schooling, emphasis on the competence and cultural competence made subject education effective in forms of curriculum framework. Furthermore DeSeCo project and previous literature study show us the importance and value of competence in pedagogical domain. So we need to search the possibility and relevance of cultural competence modeling in schooling. Because the study of competence and cultural competence have been discussed in specific job and skill training, now we have to change the conception of competence with a view to redesign a school curriculum. We think of competence as deeper and integrative thing. In subject education the importance of competence has been emphasized for its function and role of designing a schooling at various levels. This study focuses on the reconsideration of the critics about the nature of educational objectives and contents in the light of cultural competence. Now we can consider cultural competence modeling as constitutive role of schooling at various of subject education. As a result of this study, the nature of cultural competence has not only to be discussed, but also to be generated to teaching a various subject. In the end subject education and conception of cultural competence is restructured on the basis of competence modeling in parallel liberal education.
