2012-2021 전수감시 대상 수인성·식품매개감염병의 발생 신고 특징

Objectives: We aimed to describe the reporting patterns of 6 notifiable surveillance diseases in the Republic of Korea, including water- and foodborne infections, from 2012 to 2021. Methods: For the 12,296 cases that met the reporting criteria, we calculated the number of reported cases, including the number of cases confirmed by lab tests or suspected by a physician, the number of cases with delayed reporting and their average days of delay, and the median days required to report the confirmatory test results. Results: The overall number of reported cases consistently increased over the ten years, with a significant rise in the reported cases of typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, and EHEC. Ninety-five percent of all reported cases were timely reported within one day of diagnosis. Vibrio vulnificus had the highest rate of delayed reporting (6.8% delayed over 1 day, 3.0% delayed over 3 days), while cholera had the lowest rate (1.9% delayed over 1 day, 0.1% delayed over 3 days). The average days of delayed reporting was 6.1 days: the highest for paratyphoid fever (10.8 days) and the lowest for cholera (2.7 days). For typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever, there has been an increase in the proportion of cases with negative test results. For vibrio vulnificus, there has been an increase in the proportion of cases with confirmed positive test results. As for EHEC, there has been a recent increase in cases with no confirmatory tests. Conclusions: Reported cases of water- and foodborne infectious diseases increased, indicating improved surveillance system completeness. However, for paratyphoid fever, improvements are needed in terms of timely notification by healthcare facilities and timely reporting of confirmatory test results.

최근 국내 미세먼지 (PM10)의 급증은 일상생활과 국민건강에 큰 영향을 주고 있다. PM10에 대한 원인 규명과 예측 문제는 그 동안 많은 연구자에 의해 수행되어왔으나 뚜렷한 해결책을 제시하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 PM10의 예측을 위해 기상 및 환경 요인을 예측변수로 하는 다양한 벌점 회귀의 방법을 제시하였다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 기상 및 환경 관련 예측변수의 최대 15일 이전 시점까지의 정보를 활용하였다. 이전 시점의 예측변수들 간에는 다중공선성의 문제가 발생하게 되는데, 이에 대한 해결책으로 본 논문에서는 벌점회귀의 방법을 적용하였다. 벌점회귀로는 Lasso, Adaptive lasso, SCAD와 MCP가 적용되었으며, 분석에는 서울시의 미세먼지농도 자료가 사용되었다. The recent rapid increase in domestic fine dust(PM10) has a great impact on daily life and public health. The problem of determining the cause of and predicting about PM10 has been carried out by many researchers, but has not been able to present a clear solution. In this study, various methods of penalized regression using meteorological and environmental factors as predictors were proposed for the prediction of PM10. In particular, in this study, information of weather and environment-related predictors up to 15 days ago was used. The problem of multicollinearity arises between the predictors at the previous point in time. As a solution to this, in this paper, the method of penalized regression is applied. Lasso, adaptive lasso, SCAD and MCP were applied as the penalty regression, and data from Seoul city were used for analysis.

The strength of linerboards produced in summer was weaker than that in winter. In this study, efforts were made to increase the consistency of OCC pulp to improve the strength of linerboards produced in the summer. The pulping temperatures of summer and winter were set at 52℃ and 19℃, respectively. The pulping consistency was set 5% at 19℃ in winter and 5, 6, 6.5 and 7% at 52℃ in summer. As a result, it has been found that the strength of the linerboard can be improved by increasing the pulping consistency. The strength of the linerboard with a pulping consistency of 6% and a pulping temperature of 52℃ is similar to that of 5% and 19℃. The linerboard strength increased by more than 20% when the consistency increased to 6.5 and 7%. Therefore, an increase in pulp consistency is considered to be one of the solutions to improve the strength of linerboards in summer.

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to determine an effective survey method for the accurate calculation of obesity prevalence by comparing the self-reported and measured height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) using the 2018 Korea Community Healthy Survey (CHS) data. METHODS: Raw data from the 2018 CHS were used to analyze the differences, correlation, and agreement between self-reported and measured height, weight, and BMI. RESULTS: The self-reported height was over-reported than the measured height (0.59 cm greater for men and 0.71 cm greater for women), while the self-reported weight was under-reported than the measured weight (0.55 kg less for men and 0.67 kg less for women). Subsequently, the self-reported BMI was under-estimated (0.35 kg/m2 lower for men and 0.49 kg/m2 lower for women) compared with the measured BMI. The kappa statistic and agreement between measured and self-reported values per BMI category (underweight, normal, overweight, and obesity) were 0.82 and 79.6%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of obesity should be calculated using the measured values provided in the CHS in order to promote local health projects based on accurate evidence.
