        성장호르몬결핍성 환아에서 약물자극분비된 성장호르몬과 야간 3시간 자연분비된 성장호르몬과의 연관성

        Nowadays, to evaluate growth hormone(GH) deficiency-suspicious short stature, we usually use more than two kinds of provocative tests using various pharmacologic agents such as clonodine, L-dopa, insulin, etc. However, the importance of physiologic natural secretion of GH was recently approved. In the past, diagnosis of GH neurosecretory dysfunction was made by studying the 24-hour spantaneous GH secretion profile. But, because it is very clinically difficult, and so we measured and evaluated the mean GH concentrations of blood samples, obtained every 30 minutes during the first 3 hours' nocturnal sleep, instead of that. At the department of Pediatrics, Hanyang University Hospital from November, 1992 to February, 1994, we selected 34 GH deficiency-suspected children on the base of their growth data and bone age, etc. After GH stimulation with clonidine(100-150 ug/m2) and L-dopa(200-250 mg/m2), we measured their peak GH values by the immunoradiometric assay(IRMA) kit. And, we measured the mean GH concentrations of blood samples, obtained every 30 minutes during the first 3 hours noctumal sleep(22:OOPM-1:OOAM). Results: 1. We analyzed the relationship between the mean of 3-hours' physiologic night-time surge of GH(X) and the phamacologically stimulated peak GH level(Y), except for the two neurosecretory dysfunction suspicious children. And so, for the 32 children, the relationship was Y=1.806X+ 3.177, r= 0.794, p$lt;0.01. However, for all the tested children(34), the relationship is Y=1.709X+ 4.06, r=0.737, p$lt;0.01. 2. We analyzed the relationship between the peak of 3-hours' physiologic night-time surge of GH(X) and the phamacologicaUy stimulated peak GH level(Y), except for the two neurosecretory dysfunction suspieious children. And so, for the 32 children, the relationship was Y=0.683X+ 3.686, r=737, p$lt;0.01. Conelusion: For all the tested children(34), the relationship between the mean 3hr physiologic GH night time surge and stimulated peak GH value is Y=1.709X+4.06, r=0.737, p$lt;0.01. The percentage of GH neurosecretory dysfunction is 5.8%(2/34). And, except for the two childrren, the relationship is more good, Y=1.806X+3.177, r=0,794, p$lt;0.01. On the above relationship, the 3-hour GH night time-surge test might to give us some helpful information for the diagnosis of neurosecretory dysfunction. (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 13:16-23, 1998)

        진균류의 Ubiquinone system의 분포에 관한 연구

        Isoprenoid quinone are essential compositions of the respiratory or photosynthetic electron transport system of microorganisms. Their chemotaxonomic significance as well as their physiological importance has been fully realized. We determined the ubiquinone types of the genus Trichoderma, Gliocladium, Verticillium, Aspergillus, and several mushroom such as Agaricus bisporus. Lentinus edodes, Pleurotus ostreatus, Flammulina velutips, Phellinus chrysoloma, Phellinus igniarius and Phellinus laevigatus. Most of Deuteromycotina had Q-10($H_2$), and all of mushroom had Q-9 as main ubiquinone type. Ubiquinone type in other fungal taxa. Isoprenoid quinones은 미생물의 호흡계나 관합성의 전자전달계의 필수적인 구성성분으로, 그들의 화학적분류 뿐만 아니라 생리학적인 중요성으니 충분히 인식되어 있다. 본실험에서는 Trichoderma, Gliocladium, Verticillium, Aspergullus 및 Agaridus bisporus, 및 Agaricus biporus, Lenrinus edodes, Pleurotus ostrearus igniarius, Phellinus chrysolona를 포함한 일부 식용버섯의 ubiquinone type을 결정하였다. 대부분의 불완전균휴는 Q-10($H_2$)를, 본 실험에 사용된 식용버섯 전체는 Q-9을 main ubipuinone type을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 upiquinone type은 진균류에 있어서도 화학적 분류의 유용한 수단으로 간주되며, 보다 광범위한 연구결과의 축척이 필요한 것이다.

        인진쑥 추출물이 다이옥신계 TCDD (2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin)에 노출된 흰쥐의 간 기능 및 지질대사에 미치는 효과

        This study was conducted in order to investigate the effects of Artemisia capillaris (AC) extract on disorders of hepatic functions and lipid metabolism induced by 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), an endocrine disrupter, using male rats (SD, five weeks old) for a period of three weeks. These 37 animals were divided into four groups. AC extract was added as 1.5% or 3% levels to basal diets, respectively. TCDD (40 ug/kg B.W) was administered by intraperitoneal injection into rats after a week from the beginning of the experiment. AC extract alleviated the increase of rat's relative liver weights induced by TCDD. Thymuses of all rats treated with TCDD were apparently shrunken by approximately 80%. Levels of white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrits were significantly increased by treatment with TCDD, however, WBC tended to decrease by AC extract diets. In hepatic function, the elevation of glutamic oxalacetic transaminase activities by TCDD treatment was diminished by AC extract diets. Serum HDL-cholesterol levels were significantly elevated by AC extract diets. The apparent increase of triglyceride levels of rat livers induced by TCDD was significantly suppressed in the AC extract diet groups. Hepatic cytosolic catalase activities significantly decreased by treatment with TCDD showed a recovering trend by AC extract diets. In histochemical observation, the fat droplets and apoptosis of hepatocytes treated with TCDD were markedly alleviated by AC extract diets. These results indicated that AC could exert recovering effects on some disorders of hepatic functions, lipids metabolism, and antioxidant activities resulting from TCDD treatment.

        센카쿠(댜오위타이)제도 영유권 분쟁에 있어 이시가키시 의회의 과잉애국심과 지역활성화의 논리

        본고는 센카쿠제도에서의 영토분쟁이 국경지역 주민들의 삶에 미치는 영향을 분석한 것이다. 이시가키시 의회의 의사록을 분석해 보면, 영토분쟁으로 인해 국경지역 주민들에게도 대결 주의적 내셔널리즘이 침투해온 양상을 살펴볼 수 있다. 그 과정은 결코 단순하거나 필연적인 것은 아니다. 이시가키섬에서 종래의 지역활성화 논리는 주변 지역과의 문화 교류 및 협력을 지향하는 것이었으며, 대만과 오키나와에 대한 관계의 중요성을 부각시켜 왔다. 이시가키시 의회는 대만과의 오랜 교류관계에 기초해 국경을 넘은 다방면의 인적 교류와 관광 확대를 추진해 왔으며, 오키나와의 반기지, 반전, 평화주의를 지지하는 입장을 취하면서 일본국가의 내셔널리즘에는 거리를 두어 왔다. 2010년 시장 및 시의원 선거에서 16년간 지속되던 혁신세력 시정이 보수세력 시정으로 교체된 이후 이시가키시 의회에서는 새로운 지역활성화의 논리가 힘을 얻고 있다. 이시가키시 의회는 센카쿠제도에 대한 실효적 지배를 실천함으로써 과잉애국심을 과시하고, 영토방위를 위한 지역의 군사화와 군사 활동에 따른 지역경제의 활성화를 도모하고 있다. 영토분쟁은 이시가키섬의 지역정치에서 이러한 보수세력의 논리를 정당화시키는 요인이 되고 있으며, 일본국가에 대한 이시가키섬의 의존성을 강화시키고 있다. 영토분쟁에 대한 이시가키시 의회의 대응은 주변 세계를 연결하고 문화 교류를 증진함으로써 번영을 추구하는 교량론과 지역의 안전 및 국가 영토의 방위를 위해 군사적 요새로서의 무장을 추진하려는 장벽론, 이 두 가지 상이한 지역활성화 논리의 갈등을 보여주고 있다. This paper examines the effects of Senkaku/Diaoyutai Islands dispute on the people living in the border islands. Examining the minutes of Ishigaki City Assembly’s meetings, I have noticed that the confrontational nationalism has been internalized by the territorial dispute. This process is neither simple nor inevitable. The logic of regional revitalization in Ishigaki island was conventionally oriented toward the social exchange and cooperation with other neighboring regions and countries. This logic has underlined the importance of Taiwan and Okinawa. Ishigaki City Assembly has pushed ahead with the multifarious cross-border cooperation and promotion of tourism, based on the longtime partnership with Taiwan. It has kept itself from the Japanese nationalism, supporting the Okinawan ideals, namely anti-base, anti-war ideology and pacifism. After the Progressive adminstration which lasted for 16years was replaced by the Conservative administration in the mayoral election and the municipal election in 2010, the new logic of regional revitalization has gained strength. Ishigaki City Assembly demonstrates the hyper-patriotism by performing the effective control over the Senkaku islands, trying to militarize the island and to revitalize the economy by means of the income from military activities. The territorial dispute has had an effect on the Ishigaki local politics in the way that it justified the position of the Conservative force, and it strengthened the dependency of Ishigaki island on the Japanese nation. Ishigaki City Assembly’s hostility to China is not the psychological response created immediately and naturally as the result of the border dispute, but it is the social consensus which is being created through the intense controversies in the Assembly. Border islands can be vitalized by connections with other regions or through the exchanges among civilized countries through the passage of ocean. However, if there is a border inbetween the islands and conflicts arise from different nations, the border islands become either a barrier against outside attacks or an isolated fortress. I consider residents’ strategies to respond to these two contrasting situations as “bridgism and barrierism in the border islands.”

      • 胃病變에서 ABH血液群 同種抗原의 免疫組織化學的 硏究

        Despite of fact that many articles dealing with blood group specific isoantigens have been published in recent year, precise meaning of presence and distribution of these isoantigens has not been clearfied yet. Many articles only demonstrated contradicting facts each other regarding distribution and presence of these isoantigens. In the past, tissue isoantigens were demonstrated by using the immunofluorescence and mixed cell agglutination technique. The recent technical development of histochemistry was able to convey more sensitive and simple technique to detect tissue isoantigens, namely immunoperoxldase technique. In this study, the peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique was used to demonstrate the blood group antigens A, B, and H in various gastric lesions. The aim of this investigation was to demonstrate the behavior of blood group substance in various gastric lesions. Particular attention was paid to the relationship between the differentiation, types and metastasis of gastric cancer, and preservation of blood group isoantigens. Gastric tissues obtained from 37 patients with various gastric lesions, namely normal gastric mucosa, gastric ulcer, gastric cancer with or without metastases and early gastric cancer were subjected for this study. The isoantigens were present in all normal gastric mucosa(5 cases) and reduced in 3 of 10 benign lesions(30%). But there were 18 cases(82%) with reduced isoantigenicity and 13(60%) cases with absent isoantigenicity in 22 cases of malignant gastric lesions. There were minimum decreased antigenicity in 1 out of 5 gastric ulcers and 3 out of 5 gastric dysplasia. But there were markedly decreased antigenicity in 9 out of 11 early gastric cancers and 9 out of 11 advanced gastric cancers. Moreover, there were 7 cases of early gastric cancers and 6 cases of advanced gastric cancer with absent antigenicity. There were no clear relationship between the differentiation and preservation of isoantigeuicity in gastric cancers. There were also no clear relationship between Borrman's types and preservation of isoantigenicity in gastric cancer. Among the 6 non-metastatic gastric cancers, 4 cases showed reduction(67%) and 3 cases showed total loss of antigenicity(50%). Whereas, there were 5 cases of reduction(100%) and 3 cases(60%) of total loss of antigenicity in 5 cases of metastatic cancer. There were 20% loss of antigenicity in S cases of A group, 60% loss of antigenicity in 5 cases of B group, 33% loss of antigenicity in 3 cases of AB group and 89% loss of antigenicity in 9 cases of 0 group. The above results suggest the immunohistochemical study of ABH isoantigen using the peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique may be useful in more precise diagnosis of early stomach cancer, and also available in prediction of metastasis and prognosis in advanced stomach cancer.
