Quantified evaluation of spreadability of cosmetics using their rheological properties

This presentation is about rheology properties about viscoelastic complex fluid especially for ‘foundation cosmetics’. Foundations, lotions and shampoos are examples of commonly used cosmetics. These kind of cosmetics have both viscous behavior(like-liquid) and elastic behavior(solid-like). The point where stress relaxation occurs, their properties change depending on applied shear rate. When people apply cosmetics on their skin, high shear rate makes material’s viscosity change. Using these rheology properties, it is possible to quantify and define spreadability of cosmetics in rheological definitions. Moreover, it can provide useful evaluation criteria of foundation cosmetics and contribute on developing new products on cosmetic industries.
New one-step made double emulsion formulation including water-insoluble drugs

This presentation is about new drug formulation which is one-step double emulsion including water-insoluble drug. Water insolubility of the drug disrupts new drug development and limits drug formulation which can be used to human body. Also, well-known drug delivery systems and formulations have difficulties having high delivery rate and formulation stability. Therefore, by enhancing drug dissolution rate in solvent which majority is water, we are making a new drug formulation using our one-step double emulsion technology. Moreover, drug formulation manufacturing process can be simplified through one-step double emulsion formation and contribute on making customerfriendly drug products.

Objective: 『Sikryochanyo』written by Jeon Soonyi is the first food-Therapy book at Korea. In 『Sikryochanyo』, there are many kinds of food-Therapy including Five-Vegetable therapy. Method: We will try to find out cases of food-therapy with Five-Vegetable in 『Sikryochanyo』. Result: In 『Sikryochanyo』, Five-Vegetable were treated as materia medica widely. Green onion, one of Five-Vegetable as materia medica was the major in use and porridge or soup were the major in frquency. Conclusion: On several types of Five-Vegetable, such as parts or whole, methods to make, the prescription shape etc., there are plenty of usage with its own effectiveness.
