Fore many years, polymeric materials have been modified by using fillers to produce composite materials with improved characteristics and wider application than the unfilled polymers. Inorganic fillers such as mica, fiberglass, talc, clay, etc. have been widely used. At recently, inorganic fillers have been incentives to their substitution by wood-based fillers because of advantage of low density relative to inorganic filler systems. Also due to characteristics such as low cost, high availability, good physico-mechanical properties and biodegradability, these material could be particularly useful in the formation of composite materials. In this study, to obtain optimum condition of the mechanical properties we were examined for various phenolic resin/wood powder ratio and evaluated the properties of their composites. When the content of phenolic resin is 45 wt%, these composites showed maximum the mechnical strength. In order to improved mechanical properties, modification agents used polyurethane and appeared the maximum value at the 5 phr.

The methods for the improvements of curriculum of the Department of Industrial Chemistry Education were examined in some detail discussing the following items; 1) Comparison and analysis of the new curriculum with the old of the Department of Chemical Industry in technical high school. 2) Examination of the current curriculum of the Department of Industrial Chemistry Education in Industrial Education College. 3) Suggestion of the improved curriculum suitable for the students in the Department of Industrial Chemistry Education.
내열성 Aminated Poly(arylene ether sulfone)의 합성과 이온교환특성

In this study, the matrix of anion exchange resin made use of poly(arylene ether sulfone) (PAES) which has thermal stability and excellent mechanical properties. Aminated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (APAES) was prepared by amination after PAES had been nitrated and lithiated. The amination was confirmed by the presence of the absorption peak of the -NH2 group at 3456, 3370, and 1620 cm-1. The introduction of amine groups in PAES increased glass transition temperature(Tg), and Tg of APAES prepared by nitration was higher than that of APAES prepared by lithiation. The initial degradation temperature of PAES and APAES was 400℃ and 330℃, respectively. Ion exchange capacities of the PAES aminated by nitration and lithiation were 3.11 and 1.83 meq/g, respectively.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack the joints. Transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) is a secreted protein that promotes differentiation of synovial fibroblasts to α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA)-positive myofibroblasts to repair the damaged joints. Synovial fluid from patients with RA (RA-SF) induced expression of α-SMA in human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hASCs). RA-SF-induced α-SMA expression was abrogated by immunodepletion of TGF-β1 from RA-SF with anti-TGF-β1 antibody. Furthermore, pretreatment of hASCs with the TGF-β type I receptor inhibitor SB431542 or lentiviral small hairpin RNA-mediated silencing of TGF-β type I receptor expression in hASCs blocked RA-SF-induced α-SMA expression. Small interfering RNA-mediated silencing of Smad2 or adenoviral overexpression of Smad7 (an inhibitory Smad isoform) completely inhibited RA-SF-stimulated α-SMA expression. These results suggest that TGF-β1plays a pivotal role in RA-SF-induced differentiation of hASCs to α-SMA-positive cells.
카르복실산 양이온교환수지의 전위차 적정곡선에 대한 컴퓨터 모델링

In this work, we obtained an equation that the particular parameters of ion exchanger has an effect on potentiometric titration curve. The experimental data of ion exchanger describes well potentiometric titration curves. Therefore these equation can be used for computer simulation of the titration process under different conditions. This can be applied to observe the effect of different factors on the position and shape of the potentiometric titration curves. These factor were as follows : equilibrium constant (pK), difference of the equilibrium constant at complete and zeroth neutralization of the ion exchanger (ΔpK), solution volume(V), concentration of supporting electrolyte(C), counterion charge(z). We can formulate conditions favoring appearance of sharp inflection on the potentiometric titration curves resulting from the combination of factors. These formulated condition appeared sharp inflection on the potentiometric titration curves as pK, ΔpK and V decreasing and z and C increasing.
