The purpose of this study is to quantitatively investigate perceived discomfort of complex shoulder postures with external loads and to propose a preliminary evaluation scheme of shoulder postures. Twelve healthy male adults participated in an experiment to rate their perceived discomfort of shoulder postures. The independent variables were shoulder flexion angle(45, 90 and 150$^{\circ}$), adduction/abduction angle(-30, -10, 0, 30 and 60$^{\circ}$), and external load(0, 1.5 and 3.0kg). The results revealed that the flexion angle, external load and their interaction significantly affected the perceived discomfort(p$<$0.05) but the effect of adduction/abduction angle on the discomfort was not significant(p$>$0.05). The effect of external load was much larger than that of any other factor with explaining about 81% of the total variation of discomfort scores. Based on the experimental results a preliminary scheme was presented to evaluate the stress of shoulder postures with external loads.

Most regression models of anthropometric variables use stature and/or weight as regressors; however, these 'flat' regression models result in large errors for anthropometric variables having low correlations with the regressors. To develop more accurate regression models for anthropometric variables, this study proposed a method to estimate anthropometric variables in a hierarchical manner based on the relationships among the variables and a process to develop and improve corresponding regression models. By applying the proposed approach, a hierarchical estimation structure was constructed for 59 anthropometric variables selected for the occupant package design of a passenger car and corresponding regression models were developed with the 1988 US Army anthropometric survey data. The hierarchical regression models were compared with the corresponding flat regression models in terms of accuracy. As results, the standard errors of the hierarchical regression models decreased by 28% (4.3mm) on average compared with those of the flat models.
디지털 인체모델 설계기법을 적용한 장애인 농작업 장비 설계

Currently, agriculture in Korea is facing a manpower shortage due to a decrease in the population and an aging workforce. Involving disabled people in agriculture as a solution to the problem of manpower shortage in agriculture can help both farmers and people with disabilities. For this, it is necessary to develop agricultural tools that disabled people can use in agricultural activities. This study tried to design agricultural work equipment for the disabled by applying a design technique using a digital human body model. To this end, in this study, a human body model for the disabled was created using anthropometric data for the disabled. After that, the agricultural work simulation using human body models was used to identify the problems in agricultural work of the disabled, and design supplementation was performed to solve the problems. As a result, design dimensions such as the height of the farm work bench for the disabled, the length of the fruit harvester, the length of the sprayer, and the height of the starter switch were determined. This study has significance in that the digital human body model-based design method was applied to the design of agricultural work equipment for the disabled.
휴대충전기의 무게와 크기에 따른 만족도 및 선호도 분석

The purpose of this study was to grasp the weight that the user satisfies according to the size of the product, targeting products that do not prefer weight. Forty college students in their 20s, whose size estimation ability was verified in this experiment, evaluated the satisfaction, preference, and expected price according to the weight and height of the portable charger, along with the weight. This study selected two types of portable chargers that do not favor weight as products to be tested, and are sold in two sizes and weights. In this experiment, a total of 10 portable chargers were prepared by having two sizes of portable chargers having five weight levels selected based on commercial weight. The experiment participants evaluated the weight of portable chargers by the modulus method, evaluated the satisfaction and preference of the portable charger weights on a 11-point semantic differentiation scale, and evaluated the expected price in raw units. As a result of the study, satisfaction and preference did not increase as the weight of the portable charger was lighter. The weight satisfaction and preference weight of the portable charger were found to be 140g, which is slightly less than the commercial weight in both sizes of portable chargers. Satisfaction and preference of portable chargers with less weights did not increase or were rather low.
