Foreign bodies in upper digestive tract are one of frequently encountered acidental cases in otolaryngologic fields. Esophageal disorder. Submucosal hematoma of the esophagus caused by food-related traumatic injury is a rare entity. A study has reported that various foods, such as fish bones, hot noodles, steak, spice, and hard confections cause esophageal injury, resulting in esophageal submucosal hematoma. Hematoma occurs within the submucosal plane of the esophagus, causing dissection of mucosa from its underlying muscle, resulting in extramucosal narrowing of the esophageal lumen. Its prognosis is good, and by an esophageal fish bone. Therefore, we report this case with a review of literature. (Korean J Otorhinolaryngol-Head Neck Surg 2007 ;50 :958-60)

The purpose of this paper is to report that George Washington was a creative leader not only as a soldier and politician but also as a farmer. As a soldier he devoted himself to defeating the enemy, as a politician he gave himself up to establishing a new nation, and as a farmer he was absorbed in creating a better quality of agricultural product for his own people. His choice for wheat over tobacco in farming was the first example of his creative leadership. His creative methods in farming are shown in that, to promote agricultural productivity, he made organic fertilizer and first introduced land improvement project applying the crop rotation system. Mechanization of farming tools for such as sowing, harvesting, and making compost was his creative efforts for producing quality crops. In addition, he earnestly wanted to establish agricultural organization such as an agricultural association to share information about farming and to bring agricultural development. This is another example of his creative efforts for brighter future of farming. His efforts were not immediately realized, but his creativity served as a basis for an agricultural association organized in mid 19 centuries. Washington believed that people in leading position should read books, associate with experts in advanced farming, research, experiment, occasionally fail in attempting, and attempt again. This is why he made his farm plantations including that in Mount Vernon huge laboratories. Today, the outcomes from his various attempts such as how to make organic fertilizer, the crop rotation system, various farming machines such as a plow are well restored to their original state in Mount Vernon. Establishing the first democratic republic ever in history, Washington had a conviction that this great political experiment would be the last form of political system made by mankind. Washington cherished a grand vision that ‘America with vast land and abundant natural resources would someday become a grain storehouse of the world.’ Nobody among founding fathers showed a vision like Washington’s. I believe that Washington is indeed a real pioneer of American agriculture.(Konyang University) 본 논문의 목적은 조지 워싱턴이 군인과 정치가로서 못지않게 농민으로서도 창조적 리더라는 점을 밝히는데 있다. 군인으로서 적을 물리치는 일에, 정치가로서 새로운 국가를 세우는 일에 몰두했다면, 농민으로서의 워싱턴은 어떻게 하면 국민들이 보다 질 좋은 많은 먹거리를 창조해 낼 수 있을까에 몰두했다. 담배를 버리고 밀을 선택한 것은 워싱턴이 농업 분야에서 창조적 길을 간 첫 번째 일이었다. 워싱턴이 유기농 비료를 만들고 윤작시스템을 창조해 적용한 토지 개량사업은 농업생산성을 높이기 위한 하나의 창조적 방법이었다. 씨를 뿌리고 곡식을 수확하고 퇴비를 만드는 일 등의 농사 전반에 걸친 농기구의 기계화는 부족한 노동력 문제를 해결하고 질 좋은 곡물을 생산해 내기 위한 워싱턴의 창조적 노력이었다. 또한 워싱턴은 농업에 관한 정보를 공유하고 농업발전을 견인시키기 위해 농업협회와 같은 농업조직을 간절히 원했다. 이것은 농업의 미래를 위한 창조적 노력이었다. 그의 노력은 바로 결실을 보지 못했지만 그가 뿌린 씨앗은 19세기 중반을 지나면서 결실을 맺었다. 책을 읽고, 선진 농업 전문가들과 교류하고, 연구하고, 실험하고, 때로는 실패하고, 또 시도하는 등 워싱턴은 이런 일을 리더 입장의 사람들이 해야 할 책무라고 생각했다. 그래서 워싱턴은 마운트 버넌을 비롯한 그의 농장들을 거대한 농업 실험실로 만들었다. 오늘날 마운트 버넌에는 워싱턴이 농민으로 실험하고 연구했던 다양한 시도들 - 유기농 비료를 만드는 법, 윤작 시스템, 쟁기와 같은 여러 농업기계 등 - 이 잘 복원되어 있다. 워싱턴은 이러한 실험을 통해 얻은 결과를 농업협회와 같은 조직을 통해 미국 전역으로 전파하기를 원했다. 워싱턴은 역사상 최초의 민주공화국을 건설하면서 언젠가 이 위대한 정치실험이 인류가 만드는 마지막 형태의 정치체제가 될 것이라고 확신했다. 워싱턴은 무한한 땅과 자연자원의 풍성함을 가진 이 나라 “미국이 언젠가 세계의 곡식창고가 될 것”이라는 위대한 비전을 가지고 있었다. 건국의 아버지들 중 그 누구도 워싱턴과 같은 비전을 가진 사람이 없었다. 워싱턴이야말로 미국 농업의 진정한 아버지가 아닌가 생각한다.

Angiotensin 변환효소 억제제에 의한 좌심실 질량감소에 대한 연구

고혈압에 의한 좌심실 비대는 환자의 예후와 밀접한 관계가 있으므로 좌심실 질량을 감소시키는 항 고혈압 제제에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 저자들은 Angiotensin 변환효소 억제제의 좌심실 질량 감소에 대한 효과와 감압 효과를 평균 17개월 동안 다른 항 고혈압 제제들과 서로 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 Angiotensin 변환효소 억제제를 사용한 군과 다른 항 고혈압 제제를 사용한 군에 있어 양군 모두에서 좌심실 질량 감소와 감압에 대한 효과는 의미가 있었지만 양군 사이에는 의미있는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 Angiotensin 변환효소 억제제가 다른 항 고혈압 제제보다 좌심실 질량을 감소시키는 효과가 탁월한 지에 대한 것은 더 많은 연구가 필요하겠다. Background : Hypertensin is the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The increased left ventricular mass has been recognized as an independent predictor of morbidity and mortality in hypertensive patients. The assessment of the regression of left ventricular(LV)mass after antihypertensive therapy offers prognostic information. 2D echocardiography has proved a sensitive tool for the detection of the change of LV mass. Method : LV mass and LV mass index were measured by Penn's method of 2D echocardiography in 16 hypertensive patients to evaluate the effect of antihypertensive drugs include angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitor(group I, n=7) and other hypertensive drugs(groupII, n = 9) on the regression of LV mass. Results : After 17 months treatment, LV mass significantly decreased in group I(342.7+79.29gm vs 287.4+102.6 gm) and group II (315.7+72.4gm vs 271.6+67.2gm). The blood pressure were significantly decreased in group I (160.7+25.9mmhg/101.4+13.5mmHg vs 141.4+15.7mmHg/90.0+6.8mmHg) and group II (181.1+29.3mmHg/108.3+12.7mmHg vs 136.7+11.2mmhg/88.9+7.8mmHg). There was no significant difference between group I and II in LV mass and systolic BP/diastolic BP Conclusion : The results showed that LV mass can be reduced in hypertensive patients who receive antihypertensive drugs. The effect of antihypertensive therapy on LV mass should be considered in treatment of the hypertensive patients who have hypertrophied LV.

지역방송의 토론 프로그램을 분석하려고 했을 때, 기대했던 것은 전국 단위의 토론 프로그램에 비해 지역 토론 프로그램에서 더욱 활발한 참여와 상호작용이 있을 거라는 것이었다. 전국 단위의 공론장에 비해 상대적으로 작은 크기의 지역 공론장에서 공중의 활발한 참여와 상호작용이 가능할 것이라는 기존 연구결과에 바탕한 기대였다. 그러나 기대와는 다르게 실제 연구 결과 지역민의 참여는 활발하지 못했고, 상호작용도 거의 없었다. 치열한 찬반 토론도 없었고, 대신 소수의 지역 유력인사들이 정책 결정과정을 설명하고, 자신의 활동을 홍보하는 좌담회 방식의 토론만이 있었다. 지역방송의 토론 프로그램이 지역의 민주적 공론장으로서 지역성을 구현하기 위해서는 어떻게 해야 할까? 분석결과를 토대로 몇 가지 제언을 덧붙이면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 찬반 구도의 토론이 가능하도록 주제를 선택해야 할 것이다. 둘째, 주제 선정의 영역 폭을 좀 더 넓혀나가야 될 것 같다. 지역민들의 다양한 관심사를 충족시킬 수 있는 다양한 영역의 주제를 선택할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 지역에 사는 일반 시청자의 참여를 높이기 위한 방안을 적극적으로 마련해 나가야 할 것이다. 앞으로 지역방송이 과감한 실험정신을 발휘해 지금의 토론 프로그램이 갖고 있는 문제를 개선해 나가길 기대한다. 그랬을 때 토론 프로그램은 지역민들의 주목을 받는 프로그램이 되고, 지역의 민주적 공론장으로서 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다. This study, focusing on television debates, explores the way in which local television constructs the space of debate by analysing the forms and contents of television debates. To do this, I analyze two debate programs of local television in Busan using content analysis: format construction and communication structure including roles of chairman and panels, ways of presenting opinions, participation of audience and so on. The result shows that debate programs of local television do not play a role properly as a public sphere of local place, despite its potentials of forming social opinions. In order to activate local democracy through debate programs of local television, it should be an open and balanced public sphere in which active and two-way communication between diverse social groups is constructed.

최근 IT환경이 급격히 변화함에 따라 기업들이 관리해야 할 데이터량이 증가되어 IT자원에 대한 유지ㆍ보수 및 관리의 문제가 대두되고 있다. 전세계적인 경기불황의 여파로 인해 기업들은 IT비용에 대한 부담을 줄일 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 시작하였다. 이러한 상황에서 등장한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스(Cloud Computing Service)는 국ㆍ내외의 기업 및 정부에게 새로운 돌파구가 될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. 이에 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스(Cloud Computing Service)의 현황 및 전망과 더불어 해결해야 할 과제를 제시하고자 한다.
