Gesture-Recognition is the technique that is making a interface between computer and human with interpreting human gestures via mathematical algorithms. With the progress of computer vision and image processing technique, it is expected to become a new human-machine interface which is able to alternate the keyboard and mouse. In this Study, As an ini t ia l st ep of research, We will introduce the result of research about applying gesture-recognition technique to perform the basic control of digital mock-up system using gesture-recognition sensor. And propose the ways to apply gesture-recognition technology into the military training system.
Vol.34 No.3
In this paper, a performance evaluation model of the Multistage Interconnection Network(MIN) with the multiple-buffered crossbar switches under Hot-spot environment is proposed and examined. Buffered switch technique is well known to solve the data collision problem of the MIN. The proposed evaluation model is developed by investigating the transfer patterns of data packets in a switch. The performance of the multiple-buffered $a{\times}a$ crossbar switch is analyzed. Steady state probability concept is used to simplify the analyzing processes. Two important parameters of the network performance, throughput and delay, are then evaluated. To validate the proposed analysis model, the simulation is carried out on a Baseline network that uses the multiple buffered crossbar switches. Less than 2% differences between analysis and simulation results are observed. It is also shown that the network performance is significantly improved when the small number of buffer spaces is given. However, the throughput elevation is getting reduced and network delay becomes increasing as more buffer spaces are added in a switch.

Purpose: The rapid and accurate diagnosis of pregnancy is important in the emergency department (ED) before evaluation of radiologic tests and medication decisions. Our primary objective was to assess the agreement between whole blood pregnancy tests done in the emergency department and those done in laboratory [serum human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) and urine β-hCG]. The secondary objective was to compare turnaround times for tests done in the ED and those done in the laboratory. Methods: This prospective study enrolled females of childbearing age needing a pregnancy test who visited an ED. Using whole blood, urine and serum from each patient, testing was done in the ED (whole blood - Hubi Quan pro-point of care test, POCT) and in the laboratory using a urine hCG kit (iIexscreen) and in serum (ADVIA centaur). The data included time of each test, β-hCG result, and urine pregnancy test result. Results: There was a high level of agreement between the POCT using whole blood and the serum β-hCG as indicated by a kappa value of 0.921(95% confidence interval). The POCT performed in the ED was significantly faster in time to report than tests performed in the laboratory, with mean differences of 20.21±2.0 minutes and 36.14±20.86minutes. The sensitivity and specificity of POCT was 98.18% and 93.75%, respectively. Conclusion: In ED, the POCT test can perform pregnancy test as accurately as in the laboratory, and can provide results on which to base care much faster than waiting for the laboratory results. POCT may expedite the ED management of patients who require pregnancy tests. Especially, this POCT uses whole blood instead of the urine, since the latter was inconvenient for the test.
Beam Vibration Control Using Cellulose-based Electro-Active Paper Sensor
김정윤,이호철,김흥수 한국정밀공학회 2010 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
Cellulose based Electro-Active Paper (EAPap) has recently shown a great potential as an environment-friendly smart material due to its biodegradability, biocompatibility and flexibility. Lots of studies have been conducted to investigate the basic smart characteristics of EAPap, but its application has not yet developed well. In this paper, the possibility of cellulose-based Electro-Active Paper (EAPap) as a piezoelectric sensor was investigated by the vibration control of the cantilevered beam. The EAPap sample was attached at the root of the cantilevered beam and used as a vibration sensor. The piezoceramic patch was also attached at the root of the beam and played as an actuator. The voltage output of EAPap showed exact dynamic characteristics of the cantilevered beam. The frequency bandwidth and quality factor of EAPap were similar to those of piezoceramic patch, which results EAPap has similar sensing capability of piezoceramic patch. To find the application of EAPap sensor, beam vibration control was performed. EAPap sensor output was considered as a position error of the cantilevered beam and a simple PID controller was designed to suppress the vibration of the beam. The EAPap sensor output provided clear time response of the beam. The controlled system showed good vibration control performance of the beam. The results provided that the piezoelectric characteristic of EAPap has a great potential as a sensor and also as a new smart material
A Novel Approach of Defining Fatigue Indices with sEMG Power during Isotonic Contractions
김정윤,김영호,박선우,안순재 한국정밀공학회 2012 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
A new fatigue index for the assessment of peripheral muscle fatigue during isotonic contraction was defined in this study. Twenty subjects performed five sets of ten isotonic contractions with two minutes of rest between each set. Surface electromyography (sEMG) was recorded from the rectus femoris muscle for each subject. The new fatigue index (FIhlrx) was defined as the ratio of the high frequency component to the low frequency component of raw EMG signals. The accuracy of the proposed index was compared with that of well-known EMG-based fatigue indices such as the root mean square (RMS)and median frequency (Fmed). Results showed that the indices proposed in this study were more accurate than those traditional approaches. In particular, FIhlr360 was the most strongly correlated with mechanical joint power (r = 0.749). The new fatigue index could serve as a reliable tool for the assessment of peripheral muscle fatigue, irrespective of EMG signal variability caused by dynamic contractions.
