      • 여름철의 寢具組合에 의한 寢床 氣候와 인체의 생리적 반응

        To investigate the bed climate and the physiologcal responses of human body to the ondol or the bed, several bed clothes were combinated as follows: Ondol : B_1 ; a cotton padded mattress + a cotton sheet + a towel cover, B_2 ; a cotton padded mattress + a contton sheet + a quilt, B_3 ; a cotton padded mattress + a quilt + a towel cover, Bed : B_4 ; a cotton padded mattres + a towel cover, B_5 ; a cotton padded mattress + a quilt, B_6 ; a cotton padded mattress + a quilt + a towel cover. As factors of the bed climate, the temperatures of the ondol, the bed, and the sheets of each combination were measured. The results were : 1. The temperature ranges of the ondol kamd the sheet for ondol combination were 25.9-27.0℃ and 34.2-35.3℃, respectively. The temperature ranges of the bed and the sheet for bed combination were 30.3-35.0℃ and 33.7-35.7℃, respectively. The environmental condions of the time were 25±5℃, 65±5% RH, and 1.3m/sec. 2. The range of mean skin temperature during the sleep was 34.5-35.3℃ 3. No consistent result of skin temperture was found in any combination of the experiment. 4. When the subject felt that the comfort sensation was ‘comfortable’ or ‘a little comfortable’, the thermal sensation was either ‘not both’ or ‘warm’ and the humid sensation rabged from ‘a little humid’ to ‘a little dry’, regardless of the combination.

        체외순환이 보체활성화화 백혈구의 폐내 정체에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        From December 1993 to April 1994, to investigate complement activation and pulmonary leukostasis, thirty adult patients were studied during cardiopulmonary bypass[CPB for cardiac surgery in Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, Pusan Paik Hospital, Inje University. Total patients were divided into group I and II according to the purpose of study ; Group I was 15 patients undergoing CPB with bubble oxygenator, Group II was 15 patients undergoing CPB with membrane oxygenator. The results of study were summarized as follows.1. The decrease of C3 and C4 levels were observed within few minutes of beginning of CPB in all patients[P<0.05 , and this decrease was proved to be due to complement activation, not by the influence of hemodilution.2. In the correlation between the change of C3 and C4, group I showed linear correlation each other suggesting complement activation occurred through the classical pathway, group II showed a correlation at only partial sampling times suggesting complement activation via both classical and alternative pathway, however there was no significant statistical difference at the change of C3 and C4 concentrations in two groups[P>0.05 .3. After switching to partial CPB, a few difference between right atrial and left atrial WBC count was observed, but statistically not significant and median cell count difference between group I and II was not significant, too [P>0.05 . With the above result, we concluded that CPB itself contributes to the activation of complement system, but bubble oxygenator does not activate always complement system more than membrane oxygenator.

        미국 자리공 (Phylolacca americana, pokeweed) 중독으로 의식변화 및 복통 증상을 호소한 2례

        Phytolacca americana poisoning is a benign plant intoxication that causes gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Other signs and symptoms include diaphoresis, salivation, visual disturbance, and seizures or mental changes. We report two cases of patients who experienced confusion and abdominal pain, vomiting, and hematemesis after oral ingestion of pokeweed. A 60-year-old female with confusion and a 67-year-old female with abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea were admitted to the emergency department after pokeweed poisoning. After supportive treatment of hydration and gastrointestinal medication, the two patients showed full recovery within 24 h and were discharged from the hospital.

        사무실에서 작업시 의복의 쾌적성 평가를 위한 의복기후의 계절변화 측정

        To get the basic data for the assessment of clothing comfort and to examine the seasonal changes of clothing microclimate, skin temperature, subjective sensation, and clothing microclimate were measured from 10 males and 10 females in each of the seasons. The subjects were questioned on thermal comfort in the experiment. Clothing microclimate temperature (temperature between skin and the garment) at breast, skin temperature at four sites (breast, upper arm, thigh, leg). tympanic temperature as deep body temperature, and subjective sensation were measured for an hour in the climatic chamber. Summer recorded the highest mean skin temperature. Throughout the seasons, mean skin temperature was 33.51$^{\circ}C$ in males and 33.55 $^{\circ}C$ in females. There was no significant difference between summer and fall in clothing microclimate. Temperature of clothing microclimate was 32.4 $\pm$ 0.8 $^{\circ}C$ in males and 32.9$\pm$ 1.8$^{\circ}C$ in females throughout the seasons and it was higher in winter than in any other season. Subjects were the most comfortable when clothing microclimate temperature was 32.6$\pm$ 1.3 $^{\circ}C$. Mean humidity of clothing microclimate was 51.6$\pm$ 14.3% throughout four seasons. From the results, Koreans appear to feel comfortable at standard microclimate humidity, but at higher temperature than standard clothing microclimate temperature .

        여름철 냉방조건에서 착의량이 의복기후와 인체의 생리적 반응에 미치는 영향

        To investigate the effects of clothing weights on subjective sensation and physiological responses of the human body under a temperature-controlled environment ($24.5^{\circ}C$), the clothing microclimate, including the temperature, humidity, and sweating rate, was measured from five young male volunteers in their 20's who wore clothing A (680 g) or clothing B (910 g). The temperature inside the clothing temperature on the breast was $28.7^{\circ}C$ in clothing A and $29.0^{\circ}C$ in clothing B. The temperature was lower than the standard clothing microclimate, and had a tendency to decrease over time. Regardless of clothing weight, the tympanic temperature was in the normal range. However, the mean skin temperature was significantly different between clothing A and B: $32.8^{\circ}C$ and $33.6^{\circ}C$, respectively. Skin temperatures of the forehead and abdomen were not affected by clothing weight, while skin temperatures of the breast, thigh, and leg were higher in clothing B than in A. There was no significant difference in the mean total sweating rates between clothing A and B. The average thermal, humid, and comfort sensations were 3.9, 4.2, and 1.1, respectively, in clothing A and 4.1, 4.3, and 1.2, respectively, in clothing B. None of these values were affected by clothing weight. As a result, we found that the mean skin temperature was significantly altered by clothing weight, but the tympanic temperature, sweating rate, and subjective sensation were not affected. In addition, the clothing climate was lower than the standard climate. Therefore, lighter and warmer materials are recommended for air-conditioning environments ($24.5^{\circ}C$), and the clothing covering area should be expanded.

      • 대학생들의 의류제품 취급에 관한 인식도

        본 연구는 의류제품의 품질표시에 관한 대학생들의 인식도와 취급표시에 관한 이해도 및 의 류제품 취급시의 소비자 불만 등을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 대학생 208 명을 대상으 로 의류제품의 품질표시에 관한 사항, 세탁에 관한 사항, 취급표시에 대한 이해도, 의류제품 불만에 관한 사항 등을 질문지 방법으로 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면 , 의류제품의 품질표시에 대하여서는 학생 대부분이 알고 있었고 취급주의에 관한 이해도는 표백이나 섬유 조성표시를 제외하고 높았으나 , 품질표시에 대한 만족도는 낮았으며 특히 의복의 치수가 통 일이 되지 않은 것에 대한 불만이 가장 컸다. 또한 학생들은 의복 취급 시 세탁 후 변형과 탈색 에 대한 불만이 컸다 To investigate the cognition and problems of labeling system. problems in laundry and collegian dissatisfaction and to suggest the method to decrease problems in management of clothing products , total female collegian respondents were surveyed in Taejon . The major results were as follows : 1. The cognition of labeling system was understood by 92.3% , and 97.1% of respondents felt the necessity of label on the clothes Some 32.2% of respondents was satisfied with present labeling system and others were not mostly because of various size unit or code 2. More than 70% of respondents understood marks for ironing, laundry , and drying , but less than 70% understood fiber composition and bleaching. 3. The major problems. claimed by 87.2% in management clothing and textile products were the deformation and discoloration by laundry 4. The skin problem . itching , was experienced by 44.8% of respondents , and the most common problem was itching by graze of tight1y fitted clothes 5. Among the respondents. 72 .3% was aware of their cloth size , and 80.8% purchased clothes after looking up the size code on the label and fitting directly on themselves

        심장수술후 복부장기의 합병증

        Intraabdominal complications after cardiac surgery are infrequent, but often fatal. From 1985 to 1993, a total of 1241 cardiovascular operations requiring cardiopulmonary by pass were performed at Pusan Paik Hospital. A total of 16 intraabdominal complications occurred, represe ting a 1.3% incidence. Complications included enterocolitis in six, hepatitis in three, gastric bleeding in two, erosive gastritis in one, cholecystitis in one, spleen rupture in one, epididymitis in one, inguinal hernia in one patient. The overall mortality rate was 12.5% (2 of 16). Three of the 16 patients underwent surgical intervention, and one died. We concluded that intraabdominal complications after cardiac surgery are associated with a high mortality rate, so when evidence of an acute abdominal symptom is observed or conservativi medical treatment fails to improve symptoms, prompt early surgical intervention should be performed.

        The rates of subcutaneos fat on the system of clothing weights including clothing microclimate, subjective sensations, were measured to get basic data to develop guideline for healthy clothing life. For this study, skinfold thickness, the rate of subcutaneos fat, clothing microclimate, subjective sensations and clothing weights were measured from 85 male and 105 female colligians. The results were as follows: 1. The rate of subcutaneos fat showed negative correlation with the temperature inside clothing in chest, but not with the temperatures in back and thigh. The correlation was not significant between the rate of subcutaneos fat and humidity inside clothing. 2. The correlation between the rate of subcutaneos fat and thermal sensations was positively significant at 5% level. However, no correlation was found between the rate of subcutaneos fat and comfort and humid sensations. 3. There was significant correlation between the rate of subcutaneos fat and under clothing weights and total clothing weights. Form these results, it seems possible, it seems possible that temperature inside clothing and thermal sensations was influenced by the rate of subcutaneos fat. Further, they suggested that the rate of subcutaneos fat have an effect on total clothing weights. Therefore, optimal clothing weight should be studied in consideration to air temperature and the rate of subcutaneos fat to pursue reasonable and healthy clothing life.
