16-17세기 초반 퇴계 문인의 서원 건립 활동

        권시용 ( Kwon Shi-yong ) 한국서원학회 2019 한국서원학보 Vol.8 No.-

This study is focused on Seowon(書院) establishment activities of the Toegye's students(退溪門人) involved in distributing Seowon based on the Toegye's theory of Seowon. Toegye intended to prepare for the coming era of Sarim(士林) by teaching Sung Confucianism to new powers in Sarim and establishing Sung Confucian(性理學) order in the local areas. He considered Seowon system as a distinctive means for his intention and strove to distribute Seowon along with his fellow scholars. This study indicates that 56 students of Toegye's participated in Seowon establishment in 43 places. This accounted for approximately half of the total number founded nationwide before the Imjin War(壬辰倭亂). In addition, it was proved that they played a significant role in Seowon establishment in Kyeongsang area(慶尙道). Toegye's stdents made efforts to found Seowon not just at the very places where they lived but where they served as local officials and the latter, especially, came to remarkable results showing that 17 students as local officials founded Seowon in 22 places. They initiated the discussion about founding Seowon, encouraged local people to join the establishment activity , and provided them with administrative, financial support. They kept on supporting after completing Seowon through taking part in academic trainings(講學) and engaging in running Seowon. These facts tell us that they did play an essential role in introducing and spreading Seowon in the early Chosun Dynasty. In conclusion, Seowon establishment activities of the Toegye's students made its way to succeeding and developing the Toegye's theory of Seowon which was aimed at the academic training and moral cultivation of Sarim.

      • 1920년대 도쿄 지역 조선인 노동단체의 조직 변천

        권시용 ( Kwon Shi-yong ) 민족문제연구소 2023 역사와 책임 Vol.12 No.-

I summarized the establishment of a Korean labor organization affiliated with socialism in Tokyo and its organizational changes in the 1920s. The 1920s was a period when the Korean society in Japan was formed. The number of Koreans in Tokyo, which had temporarily decreased during the Kanto Earthquake, increased steadily again in the process of recovering from the earthquake. The number of workers exceeded that of students from Korea, and serial immigration based on personal relationship and blood ties became common. The residences of Koreans were mainly distributed outside of Tokyo city and in the county area. In particular, the number of Koreans increased significantly in the eastern and southern industrial areas of Tokyo, where the damage from the Kanto Earthquake was great and the restoration project required a lot of unskilled labor. In some cases, gravel collectors lived in groups around the Tama River west of Tokyo. Korean workers carried out activities necessary for life through dormitories and labor lodgings. In the process, various group activities of Koreans were carried out. In the early 1920s, labor groups led by socialist activists began to emerge. After the formation of 'the federation of Korean laborers in Japan' in February 1925, the movement of labor organizations became much more active. The initiative of socialist activists stood out. The ideas of socialist activists, represented by the 'January Association', also spread to labor organizations under 'the federation of Korean laborers in Japan'. As a result, it led to a joint movement of labor organizations and a unification movement. The creation of labor organizations in Tokyo, which followed the formation of ‘the federation of Korean laborers in Japan’, and the movement to integrate, reorganize, and systematize the organizations, as is well known, were strongly influenced by the will of the socialist movement.
