In the design of plate girder web panels, it is required to evaluate accurately the elastic buckling strength under pure shear. Whether or not the post-buckling strength is accounted for. Currently. Elastic shear buckling coefficients of web panels stiffened by transverse intermediate stiffeners are determined by assuming conservatively that web panels are simply supported at the juncture between the flange and the web. Although the notion of the real boundary condition at the juncture of the web and flanges to be somewhere between simple and fixed has been recognized from early days, the boundary condition has been conservatively assumed. Mainly due to lack of means to evaluate it in a rational manner. In this paper. A series of numerical analyses based on a three-dimensional finite element modeling is carried out to investigate the effects of the geometric parameters on the boundary conditions at the juncture between the flange and the web.

This study was conducted to analyze growth characteristics and adaptability of poplar clones under the treatment of liquid pig manure. The average of survival rate was 33% better at control than the treatment under age of 5 years. But, tree height and DBH growth were higher at the treatment than control. Populus euramericana ‘Eco28’ showed the highest survival rate (97.9%) under the treatment. P. euramericana ‘Eco28’ and P. deltoides hybrid ‘Dorskamp’ could be selected as superior clones for height and DBH growth under the liquid pig manure treatment. The above-ground biomass production was also investigated when the poplar clones were 5 years old. The aboveground biomass under the liquid pig manure treatment was, on average. 52.6 ton/ha, which was 80% higher than control (29.1 ton/ha). P. euramericana ‘Eco28’ (73.6 ton/ha) and P. deltoides hybrid ‘Dorskamp’ (71.1 ton/ha) showed superior biomass production than other clones at the treatment of liquid pig manure. Based on survival, growth and demage traits, the adaptability of poplar clones to liquid pig manure treatment was estimated. P. deltoides hybrid ‘Dorskamp’ and P. euramericana ‘Eco28’ showed better adaptability to the treatment. P. nigra × P. maximowiczii ‘62-10’ and P. koreana × P. nigra var. italic ‘Suwon’ were identified as poor adaptability clones.

A two channel seismic recorder suitable for long-term observation of microearthquakes is developed. The direct analogue recording on cassette tape is adopted in the recorder whose circuits of amplifier and mortor units of an audio cassette recorder are modified. The recorder provides contineous record of 10 days with DC 12V battery (100AH) and with standard cassette tape of 60 minute use. The binary coded time signals of date, hour, and minute are generated once a minute by the timing system and absolute time input using radio to measure the time drift is also possible. For the seismic signal processing, the analogue signals from audio cassette player pass A/D converter and digitized data are stored in personal computer. Then visual records can be obtained using computer graphic mode. Basic programs “ADCONVO” and “DRAWO” to accomplish A/D conversions, the creation of data files and visualization of signals were written. Some sample signals reproduced from the recorded tape are presented.

플레이트거더의 전단내력을 평가하기 위해서는 탄성전단좌굴강도가 정확히 산정되어야 한다. 현행 설계식에서는 탄성전단좌굴강도를 계산하기 위한 웨브 플레이트의 경계조건을 4변 단순지지로 가정하고 있다. 그러나 웨브와 플랜지의 경계조건은 일반적으로 단순지지이상의 구속을 가지고 있으며, 플랜지의 두께가 웨브의 두께에 비해 두꺼울수록 고정에 가까워진다. 플레이트거더에서 웨브 플레이트의 경계조건은 플랜지와 웨브의 두께비, 스티프너의 보강간격 등에 따라 달라지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 실험과 유한요소법을 통해 플랜지와 웨브의 폭비, 스티프너의 보강간격, 특히 플랜지와 웨브의 두께비에 따른 웨브 플레이트의 경계조건을 평가하여 플레이트거더의 전단좌굴게수를 제안하고자 한다. 활성탄은 유기성 탄소물질을 탄회시켜 생성된 기공이 활성화된 다공성 고정탄소로 그 특징은 원료의 종류 및 제조 공정 조건에 따라 활성탄의 흡착특성이 다르게 나타난다[1,2]. 최근 여러가지 공해 방지면에서 배연탈황, 용제회수 및 탈취 등에 이용되고 있으며 수질 처리면에서도 여러 방면으로 활용되고 있다. 이와 같이 활성탄의 용도는 크게 기상용과 액상용으로 구분될 수 있으며, 그 사용 목적으로 정제와 분멸 및 포짐 또는 회수를 위한 것과 촉매 및 촉매 담체로서의 용도 등과 같이 다양한 용도로 사용되고 있다 [2.3,4].
