        Action Recognition Model to Monitor Illegal Dumping using Zoom-In Image Sequence Data

        In this study, we propose an action recognition model that provides generalized performance regardless of camera location and distance between the camera and human. The proposed model consists of two-stage networks, namely, human detection and action recognition. The proposed method operates on video frames that are resized by a new zoom-in method using pretrained Yolo v3. To use temporal information, which is regarded as a critical factor in action recognition, we adopt the R(2+1)D model, which is a factorized model capable of representing more complex networks. The proposed Zoom-In method yields generalized performance regardless of distance. In an experiment, the proposed method exhibited accuracies of 96.07%, 96.61%, and 94.55% in the short, medium, and long ranges in which our datasets were employed, respectively.

        A Validation Study of the Korean-Ruminative Response Scale in Korean Adolescents

        Objective-We aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of Korean version of Ruminative Response Scale (K-RRS) for Korean adolescents. Methods-A community sample of 1220 adolescents was recruited from middle schools and high schools. Exploratory factor analyses and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted, and additional analyses were performed to assess the reliability and validity of the K-RRS. Results-An exploratory factor analysis of a sample of adolescents (n=550) yielded a three factor structure: ‘depressive rumination’, ‘reflective pondering’, and ‘brooding’. Confirmatory factor analyses of another sample of adolescents (n=530) supported the three-factor model for the K-RRS. The K-RRS was found to have good internal consistency and construct validity. Conclusion-Our results suggest that K-RRS is a valid measurement to assess rumination in adolescents, as well as in adults.

        표준단면을 이용한 터널 공사비 예측모델 개발 (Ⅰ) : 공사비 영향요인 분석

        본 연구는 터널공사를 대상으로 사업 초기단계에서 터널공사의 설계 대안에 대한 공사비를 신속히 추정하고, 사업이 진행되면서 상황변화에 따른 사업비 측면에서의 영향을 파악할 수 있도록 함으로써, 적정한 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 개략적 터널공사비 추정모델 제시를 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 터널공사의 수행에 있어 공사비에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고, 공사비 영향요인별 공사비 변화의 정도를 분석하였다. 공사비 영향요인은 천공방식, 굴착방법, 기폭장치, 적재장비 용량, 버력의 단위중량 및 토량환산계수, 터널 연장을 포함하는 7개의 요인을 대상으로 하여 각 영향요인의 변화에 따른 공사비 변동크기를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 기획단계에서 사업의 기본적인 조건을 바탕으로 사업비를 추정하고, 설계 및 시공단계에서 설계 대안에 대한 공사비의 영향을 효율적으로 평가하는데 필요한 공사비 추정모델의 구축을 위한 기초정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. The objective of this paper is to provide an approximate cost estimating model for tunnel that can be utilized both in quick construction cost estimating for design alternatives, and in evaluating efficiently the cost effects according to the environmental changes during design and construction stage. To meet this requirement, this study analyzes critical cost factors influencing tunnel construction costs. The cost factors include 7 elements such as rock drilling method, advancing method, type of detonator, loader capacity, unit weight and soil volume change factor, length of tunnel. This paper investigates the cost variance according to the change of the cost factors. The result is expected to be used in formulating approximate tunnel cost estimating model.

      • 표준단면을 이용한 터널 공사비 예측모델 개발 (2) : 공사비 변동 모델 및 검증

        본 연구는 터널공사비 영향요인 분석 결과를 이용하여 터널 공사비 예측에 활용될 수 있는 모델을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 공사비 영향요인의 변화에 따른 공사비 변동 지수표를 구축하고, 이를 바탕으로 사업 환경의 변화에 따른 공사비 추정을 위한 절차를 제시하였다. 또한 최근 수행된 실제 프로젝트를 대상으로 제시된 터널 공사비 추정모델의 적정성을 검증하는 작업을 수행하였다. 표준단면 및 공사비 변동비를 바탕으로 한 공사비 예측에 있어 실제 프로젝트를 통한 검증결과 실제 설계 예정가격과 비교하여 -5% ~ +11%의 범위에서 추정되었다. 제시된 모델은 기획단계에서 사업의 기본적인 조건을 바탕으로 사업비를 추정하고, 설계 및 시공단계에서 설계 대안에 대한 경제성 평가, 설계조건, 지반조건, 시공환경의 변화, 공법, 자재, 장비의 변경에 따른 공사비의 영향을 효율적으로 평가하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. The paper provides an approximate cost estimating model that can be used for tunnel. Based on the previous study analyzed critical factors that have impact on tunnel construction cost, this paper establishes a cost variance index table that reflects the cost impacts due to the change of the critical cost factors. An estimating procedure is described utilizing the index table. For the verification of the suggested model, the comparison of the estimated construction cost with real project cost is performed. The estimated results range from 95%~111 % of the real project costs. As an approximate tunnel cost estimating model, the model can be utilized to quickly estimate tunnel construction costs based on the conceptual information at the planning stage and to efficiently make a decision on design alternatives.

        Enhancement of cortisol measurement sensitivity by laser illumination for AlGaN/GaN transistor biosensor

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) device was used as an immuno biosensor to measure concentration of a stress hormone, cortisol, by using selective binding on cortisol monoclonal antibody (c-Mab). Also, the HEMT sensor was enhanced in its sensitivity through light illumination to generate photocurrent. The optical pumping could assist the biosensor to discriminate more detailed change, which could result in an increment of limit of detection (LOD) to 1.0 pM cortisol level. It was the lowest level of detection with semiconductor device-based cortisol biosensors and the enhancement of surface potential sensitivity was induced by laser light (532 nm). Output current amplificated by photocurrent was higher than dark original current at about 3.39% when gate voltage is applied with −3 V. Since the device could be applied to not only standard cortisol solution but also real human salivary sample, it is expected to apply for <I>in vitro</I> direct diagnosis of point-of-care test (POCT).</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> High electron mobility transistor (HEMT) sensor was demonstrated for a direct cortisol measurement using c-Mab immune-detection. </LI> <LI> The HEMT sensor could measure 1.0 pM levels of cortisol standard solution and in human salivary sample. </LI> <LI> Detection efficiency of cortisol was enhanced by optical pumping of AlGaN/GaN layer through laser illumination. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Development of diagnostic algorithm based on individual skin properties, lifestyle and genetic data for personalized solutions

        Customers have used various skin care and functional cosmetics to prevent their skin aging as well as improve current condition of the skin. It is important to analyzing and understanding their skin to select optimized skin care solutions. The aim of this study is to quantitatively analyze the effect of environment, lifestyle, and innate genes on the current skin condition. For this purpose, degree of hydration, sebum, wrinkles, melanin, dullness and redness in a highly controlled condition were collected in conjunction with a questionnaire survey analyzing their lifestyles and genetic data from about 3000 women. We classified participants based on the types of skin, using 6 kinds of index representing skin properties, questionnaire survey on lifestyle and genetic data with Gaussian Mixture Model and Decision Tree for classification model. Through this study, it was possible to divide the skin of Korean women into 12 clusters according to wrinkles, melanin, redness, dullness and oil/moisture balance with Gaussian Mixture Model. Also, we were able to identify a pattern in which each factor was correlated. Next, we tried to discover factors for predicting skin condition changes through correlation analysis with lifestyle, climate/environment, and innate genes that affect the current skin condition. Ultimate purpose of this study is to predict future skin condition using big data and AI technology. This knowledge will enable us to provide more proactive and personalized solutions not only for cosmetics but also for life care such as lifestyle, eating habits, and environmental response.

        림프종과 골수종 환자에서 자가 조혈모세포 이식술의 현실 세계 경험

        목적: 울산대학교 의과대학 서울아산병원 종양내과 림프종/골수종 프로그램은 1993년에 소세포 폐암 환자를 대상으로 국내 처음으로 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 이식술을 시행하였다. 림프종과 다발골수종이 이 시술의 주 대상이 되었고, 그동안 이 림프계 악성 종양의 치료에 많은 발전이 있었다. 이에 지난 25년 동안 시간대 별 성적 변화를 살피고자 하였다. 방법: 1993년 1월부터 전향 수집한 서울아산병원 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 이식 등록을 이용해 비호지킨림프종, 다발골수종, 호지킨림프종 환자 자료를 분석하였다. 충분 기간의 생존을 살피기 위해 2018년 말까지 이식술을 시행한 경우로 제한하고, 이식술 시행 연대는 임의로 1999년까지, 2000-2009년, 2010-2018년으로 나누었다. 다발 골수종은 1차 이식 결과만 분석하였다. 결과: 모든 대상 질환에서 시대 흐름에 따라 생존 성적이 향상하였다. 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 이식 연관 각종 의학술기의 발전이 작용한 때문으로 보이나, 각 질환군 모두 무진행 생존의 호전보다 전체 생존 성적의 향상이 더 뚜렷하였다. 이는 이식 후 재발 때 적용 가능한 구제 요법의 발전이 큰 영향을 끼쳤다고 판단한다. 조혈모세포 이식 특이 동반 질병 지수와 생존 성적의 연관은 볼 수 없었다. 결론: 림프계 악성 종양에서 자가 말초혈액 조혈모세포 이식술 후 생존 성적이 지난 25년여 동안 시대가 지남에 따라 향상되었다. Background/Aims: The first autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (ASCT) in Korea was performed for a small-cell lung cancer patient at Asan Medical Center (AMC) in 1993. Recently, lymphoma and myeloma have been the main indications; there has been progress in the treatments for these lymphoid malignancies. We explored the real-world experience of ASCT for lymphoma and myeloma at AMC over a 25-year period. Methods: We used the AMC ASCT registry, which has collected ASCT data prospectively since January 1993. Data for Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and multiple myeloma patients were analyzed. Patients transplanted up to December 2018 were included to assess adequate survival data. The ASCT time period was divided arbitrarily into 1994-1999, 2000-2009, and 2010-2018. In cases of multiple myeloma, we analyzed the 1st ASCT data only. Results: Survival of these lymphoid malignancy patients after ASCT has progressively improved. The increase in survival may be related to advances in various medical skills supporting ASCT. However, overall survival has improved much more than progression-free survival. This suggests that better salvage therapies after ASCT failure have mainly affected the improvement in overall survival. The hematopoietic cell transplantation-specific comorbidity index could not be used as a survival indicator in this analysis. Conclusions: This real-world experience study showed that the survival of lymphoid malignancy patients treated with ASCT has improved over the past 25 years. (Korean J Med 2021;96:501-511)
