        Vitreous hemorrhage, which is the major cause of blindness in proliferative diabetic retinopathy, has been prevented clinically with laser photocoagulation. We reviewed 57 cases(98 eyes) of proliferative diabetic retinopathy which were treated by argon laser and followed up for more than 6 months. Of these 98 eyes, 81 eyes(83%) showed a satisfactory response after standard panretinal photocoagulation. 14 eyes(14%) revealed the vitreous hemorrhage after panretinal photocoagulation and higher incidence of vitreous hemorrhage in the cases of new vessel on the optic disc. In the cases(26 eyes) of new vessel on the optic disc, 2000 laser burns revealed lower incidence of vitreous hemorrhage(1/5, 20%) in comparison with 1500 laser burns(8/21, 38%). These results indicate that initial augmented laser therapy prevented the vitreous hemorrhage effectively.

      • 외기요법이 체표온도 변화에 미치는 영향

        This study is about the relationship between the effect of Radiating Qui Therapy on human body and the resulting subjective qui sensation. Patients were between 30 and 50 years of age. n=21 persons received DITI (n=14 patients were provided, n=9 control group) twice examination with Radiating Qui Therapy. First all patients were examined by DITI. After treatment with Radiating Qui Therapy (n=14) both the treated and the control groups were eaxmined again. Radiating Qui Therapy is provided upright position. After Radiating Qui Therapy 92% of the treated group felt a significant qui sensation and 43.5 % felt a warmth at the abdomen and over the whole body. A data of this study show Radiating Qui Therapy has s stimulating effect on human skin temperature. As disease region and Qui sensation are very closely related to each other results strongly suggest that Radiating Qui Therapy could be used as a treatment for a several disease.

        디프테리아 患者血淸內의 Immune Globulin에 關한 硏究

        Quantitative measurement of the serum immune globulin(IgG, IgA and IgM) were conducted on 32 diphtheria patients, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years, who were treated at the Seoul National University Hospital. Their diagnosed of clinical, serological and bacteriological check-ups. Lim's method was used in calculating levels of immune globulin, i.e. IgG, IgA and IgM, in serum. 1) Immune globulin levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were as follows: a) IgG value is 1,779.2㎎±㎎320.0㎎/100㎖(S.D.), p-value 5.26% b) IgA value is 293.3㎎±63.4㎎/100㎖l(S.D.), p-value 3.36% c) IgM value is 116.2㎎±26.6㎎/100㎖(S.D.), p-value 0.001% 2) IgG levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were lower than was the case with healthy Koreans and control group but higher compared to healthy westerners. 3) IgA levels in diphtheria patients were lower than in control group but higher as compared with healthy Koreans and westerners. 4) IgM levels in diphtheria patients were higher than in control, healthy Koreans and westerners.

      • 韓國産 脣形(꿀풀)科 植物에 關한 本草學的 硏究

        A Herbalogical Study in the Plants of Labiatae in Korea. For the purpose of developing Korean Herbgalogy with the plants of Labiatae which grow wild and is planted in korea, the these and writings on herbalogy, from literature of successive generations, have been throughly investigative and the results obtained were as follows: 1. There were totaled to 27 genera and 86 species in Korea and among them medical plants are 24 genera, 59 species, some 68% in total but, the number of species may be added because of the similar plants. 2. According to the oriental names which can be used for medical purpose, the medical plants belonging to the Labiatae family were classified as Herba 29, Radix 4, Fructus 3, Folium 2, Lignum 2, Semen 1 and Flos 1. 3. According to sum of 86 species in Labiatae family, they were classified into Scutellaria genera 10, Salvia genera 6, Ajuga genera 5, Clinopodium genera 5, Elsholtzia genera 5 and Mosla 5. Thus it was noticed that Scutellaria genera was the main kind, some 12% in total. 4. According to the number of species of the original plants about each chinese materia medicals, they were classified into HERBA AGASTACHIS 5 and HERBA AJUGAE, HERBA SCUTELLARIAE, HERBA LYCOPI 3 each. 5. According to nature and flavour of medical plants, they were classified into warmth, heat: 20 each, cold, cool: 16 each, balance 4 and unidentified 2. Thus it was noticed that warmth and heat is the main in nature and flavour medicinal plants. 6. According to the Properties and Principal curative action, they were classified into drugs for clearing up heat and toxin 8, drugs for clearing up heat and dispelling pathogenic heat from blood, drugs for clearing up heat and heatstroke 3 each, drugs for activating the blood and removing blood stasis, drugs which is sudorific and pungent in nature and flavour for dispelling wind and cold in the treatment of exterior symptom complex 4 each. Thus it was noticed that drugs for clearing up heat was the main kind. 7. Comparing to whole medical plants 42 kinds, toxic drugs include minor toxin were 3 kinds, 7% of the whole. Thus toxic drugs were rare. From this result, it was revealed that the plants for medical purpose in Labiatae was 68% of the whole, in which HERBA was mostly abundunt and toxic plants was so rare that it will be used for clinical treatment more easily. It is considered that many experiements and clinical approches must be continued to use Labiatae plants widely.

Environment is ubiquitous, like water or air space to a computer or network to the user place without consciousness, regardless of the environment can freely access the network says. These ubiquitous in the environment, industrial development direction for all human values and his followers part of a big focus for development and meaningful change that can it. Housing is a human form and enjoy a living thing, or any form of social and cultural features are intelligently symbolic value that will change. Here the role of design will be taken increasingly large portion of the current design is bigger than the perspective of consultation with the management will expand the concept. We will be living at the upcoming residential space in the near future, ubiquitous experience will be a significant change in paradigm. That is gradually changing in several parts already started and will be coming closer to us. The house through a network of wired and wireless consumer or the environment can have a home network to manage the environment and the already established part of our daily life, but from the experience. A space of the past is as simple and residential space in the hierarchy of human society and human life pattern is more complicated and complex features of living space with residential space, space is the changing needs of human beings and the more harm repeatedly As human as you imagine living space is going to be changed. In addition, residential space is just a convenience for individuals seeking Furthermore, the space could meet the emotional satisfaction of going to be changed. In this environment is ubiquitous, we will usher in a new utopia as our awareness. However, the ubiquitous convenience and satisfaction, an ideal environment for residential space, but we have issues of personal privacy. Environmental issues and these might be alienated from the people who care about the problem will be. The problem of e-established ethical consciousness and respect for the privacy of others is called social values that will be formed. To that end, the policy will need to build and social atmosphere. In addition, the latter problem that may occur alienated people living in the part of the ubiquitous paradigm in order to minimize this service is not just for a handful of truly ubiquitous the meaning must be prepared to hold on. In addition, it is essential that policy can be corroborated. Ubiquitous national policy has led and made enough progress in establishing policies and careful consideration should be very careful.

      • e-PTFE막과 실리콘 관을 이용한 녹내장 수술

        A new glaucoma drainage implant, silicone tube attached to an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE) membrane, was used in patients with recalcitrant glaucomas. Aqueous was shunted via the silicone tube to reservoir which was formed under the posterior Tenon's capsule by an oval piece of e-PTFE memberane, (Japan Gore-tex Inc., Tokyo) was 0.1mm thick, malleable and foldable. Therefore, the e-PTFE membrane of the implant could be introduced through a small incision of a quadrant conjunctiva in folded form and then spreaded over the sclera. The implant had been placed in 18 eyes of 17 patients with one or more unsuccessful glaucoma filtration surgeries including three neovascular glaucoma (NVG) patients. After follow-up of peroids ranging between seven and 18 months (mean: 10 months), 15 of the 18 eyes (83%) had controlled intraocular pressure (IOP) using 20 mmHg as normal. Three patients were not on any glaucoma medication. Seven patients required one β-blocker. Five patients were on one β-blocker and pilocarpine or a small dose of acetazolamide on their final visits. Three eyes with an unsuccessful surgery had an IOP over 25 mmHg in spite of maximum tolerated medical therapy. A postequatorial filtration bleb was found in each operated eye following removal of 5-0 cat-gut threaded through the silicone tube for the prevention of aqueous overdrainage. Postoperative complications included hyphema and fibrinous aqueous in the eyes with NVG(17%), prolonged shallow chamber(22%), obstruction of the silicone tube in the anterior chamber(6%), and choroidal datachment(6%) silicone tube in the anterior chamber (6%), and choroidal detachment(6%). The required conjuctival incision for the installation of the e-PTFE drainage implant was less than 90° and the overall surgical procedures seemed to be simple.

        이식형 인공중이 시스템을 위한 고효율 차동 전자 트랜스듀서의 설계

        이식형 인공중이에 사용되는 일반적인 전자기 방식의 진동 트랜스듀서에 비하여 두 개의 소형 영구자석을 같은 극끼리 접착한 후 코일내부에 위치시킨 차동 전자 트랜스듀서는 효율이 높고 코일-영구자석간의 공극조정이 필요 없으며 외부의 자기장에 대하여 영향을 받지 않는 특성을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 차동 전자 트랜스듀서를 이식형 인공중이 시스템에 사용하기 위하여 입력전류에 대하여 진동력의 크기를 최대화시킬 수 있는 효율적인 구조를 제안 해석하였다. 유한요소 해석을 통하여 가장 효율적인 코일과 자석의 길이 비를 도출하였고 소리신호 전달을 위한 트랜스듀서의 필요 진동력을 산출한 후 트랜스듀서 발생 진동력을 해석하였다. 그리고 실제 이소골에 이식할 수 있는 크기의 트랜스듀서를 제작하기 위한 설계상수를 추출하였다. 계산된 설계상수를 이용하여 이식 가능한 크기로 트랜스듀서를 구현한 후 무부하 실험과 사체 부하 실험을 실시하여 제작된 트랜스듀서가 실제 중등이상 고도난청자를 위한 이식형 인공중이 시스템에 사용될 수 있음을 증명하였다. The differential electromagnetic transducer for IME(implantable middle ear) system, which have two small permanent magnets glued with the same pole facing each other in the coil, has high vibration efficiency and does not influenced by external magnetic field. In this paper, using finite element method, highly efficient structure of the transducer was proposed and vibration force of the transducer was calculated by electromagnetic theory. And the necessary vibration force of transducer to transmit the sound signal to inner ear when the transducer is attached at stapes was calculated and the design parameters of the transducer were investigated. Using the parameters, the differential electromagnetic transducer was manufactured in small size to implant in confined human middle ear. And it was examined by unloaded and loaded vibration experiment using temporal bone sampled from cadaver.
