A numerical study has been carried out to find out the optimal design condition of a solar absorption cooling system. The system was composed of solar collectors and an absorption chiller with LiBr/water The System performance with commercial single effect(SE) cycle and a new single effect/double lift(SE/DL) cycle utilizing low temperature hot water was calculated and compared. It was found that the required solar collector area grew exponentially as the overall heat loss coefficient of solar collectors increased. For instance, the required area for cooling capacity of 1 USRT was $17m^2$ if heat loss coefficient was 4 W/$m^2\;cdot\;K$. If heat loss coefficient was doubled($8\;W/m^2\;cdot\;$K), the required collector area was increased by 6 times($100m^2$) .It was also found that the SE-cycle as the heat loss coefficient of solar collectors increased. Generally, a SE/DL-cycle seems to be more advantageous than a SE-cycle if loss coefficient of solar collector is greater than 4 W/$m^2\;cdot\;K$.
추나 요법을 적용한 경추 추간판 탈출증 척추 수술 실패 증후군 환자의 경과관찰 1례

Objects : This study was to report a clinical effect of Chuna Treatment for HIVD-cervical spine Failed Back Surgery Syndrome(FBSS) patient. Methods : In order to alleviate both arm tingling, numbness and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, Verbal Numerical Rating Scale(VNRS) and Neck Disability Index(NDI) score were used. Results : VNRS and NDI were improved and Recovery rate was 100%. Conclusions : Korean Treatment can be effectively used for a patient with HIVD-cervical spine FBSS patient. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.
급성기 요통에 대한 침치료와 우황·웅담·사향약침 병행치료의 효과 비교연구

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Calculus Bovis·Fel Ursi·Moschus(BUM) pharmacopuncture on the treatment of acute low back pain patients. Methods : The subjects in this study were 30 patients with acute low back pain who were treated in Dept. of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Jein Oriental Medicine Hospital from November 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. These patients were randomly divided into two groups. In one group(control group), patients were treated with acupuncture. And in the other group(experimental group), patients were treated with both acupuncture and BUM pharmacopuncture. For evaluating change of pain, visual analog scale(VAS) and Oswestry disability index(ODI) were checked before and after. Results : Each group had significant decrease in VAS and ODI after each treatment. Experimental group had more significant decrease in VAS after each treatment than control group. Conclusions : We suggest that cotreatment of acupuncture and BUM pharmacopuncture on acute low back pain patients can be recommended as a useful therapy.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the diagnostic accuracy and effectiveness of transvaginal ultrasonography (TVUS) performed by emergency physicians (EPs’) in the emergency department. Methods: In this study, female patients with lower abdominal pain who had risks for obstetric and gynecologic diseases were assessed. The accuracy and effectiveness of TVUS performed by emergency physicians was determined by comparing EPs’ interpretations of TVUS with the interpretations of TVUS by OGs CT findings, and surgical pathologic results. Results: Forty-one patients were included in the study. The diagnosis was changed in 48.8% of the patients after the TVUS had been performed by an EPs’. When the accuracy of diagnosis was compared pre- and post-TVUS, the accuracy of post-TVUS (80.5%) was higher than the pre-TVUS (39.0%). The agreement between the sonographic findings of EPs’ and OGs’ was substantial (accuracy=81.3~93.8%; κ=0.611~0.811; p<0.05). The accuracy of TVUS performed by EPs’ in obstetric and gynecologic diseases was 90.6%. The sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 90.9%, respectively, and the positive and negative predictive values were 96.8% and 100%, respectively. Conclusion: TVUS performed by EPs’ is of considerable help in establishing the correct diagnosis with a high degree of accuracy.
공냉형 암모니아/물 GAX 흡수식 냉동 사이클의 수치 해석

An air-cooled ammonia/water GAX(Generator-Absorber heat eXchange) absorption cooling cycle is proposed and its performance is numerically evaluated. It is shown that the performance of the system is greatly dependent on the quality of the refrigerant leaving the evaporator. For any refrigerant concentration in the investigated range(99.1~99.9% ammonia), the cycle COP(coefficient of performance) reaches the highest value, when some amount(about 7%) of refrigerant evaporates in the refrigerant heat exchanger. Among temperature differences in various heat exchangers, the temperature difference between GAX-absorber and the GAX-generator shows the greatest effect on the system performance, whereas pressure losses cause no significant decrease in COP. The system COP increases almost linearly with increasing evaporator temperature, decreasing absorber temperature or decreasing condenser temperature. If both absorber and condenser temperature increase simultaneously, the decrease in the COP becomes larger.
실험계획법을 이용한 날개 없는 선풍기의 노즐 형상 최적 설계

날개 없는 선풍기는 특유의 형태로 인한 안전성과 청소의 간편함, 심미성으로 제품화에 성공하였다. 그러나 기존 선풍기에 비해 약한 바람과 모터에 의한 소음과 같은 단점은 구매력을 감소시키는 주요인이며, 따라서 모터의 속도를 증가시키지 않고 바람의 세기를 증가시키는 방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 질량유량에 영향을 주는 인자, 수준을 선정하고 이를 실험계획법인 직교배열표를 이용하여 실험점을 배치하였다. 질량유량의 값은 전산유체해석 프로그램인 ANSYS FLUENT를 사용하여 질량유량의 값을 확인하였으며, 평균분석을 통해 질량유량에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 인자는 노즐 간격임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 예측 모델 식을 통해 얻은 질량유량의 값과 전산유체해석의 질량유량의 값이 가장 큰 값으로 일치하는 것을 나타내었다. 본 연구를 통해서 모터의 속도를 증가시키지 않더라도 형상 변화를 통해 질량유량의 증가시킴을 확인할 수 있었다. Bladeless fan is becoming increasingly popular owing to its advantages, such as improved safety, easy to clean, and attractive shape. However, many people are reluctant to purchase it because of several disadvantages, such as noise and moderate wind; therefore, research on how improve wind generation without increasing the motor speed is required. This study investigates the optimization of the shape of the nozzle and nearby surface using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation, ANSYS fluent. The results are analyzed by ANOM (analysis of mean) and interaction analysis; therefore this study suggests the variables of affecting Coanda effect and satisfy the govern equation, the conservation of momentum. The optimal combination was found through a predictive equation. In this study, factors and levels that affect the mass flow rate were selected and experimental points were arranged using the orthogonal array table. The value of the mass flow rate was confirmed by ANSYS fluent, which is a CFD program. Through the ANOM, it was confirmed that the nozzle distance is the most influential parameter affecting the mass flow rate. Furthermore, the mass flow rate obtained from the predictive equation and the mass flow rate from the CFD correspond to the largest values. Results from this study confirmed that the mass flow rate is increased by a change in the shape, even if the motor speed did not increase.
