In this paper, the relationship between the peripheral characters around the main characters of the “three generations” is analyzed and their contents are made meaningful. The ironic desire of Cho Eui-gwan was evaluated as an ambivalent personality. This duality was shaped by the egoism that Cho Eui-gwan converged to the outside world. His selfish desire has transformed the peripheral characters who are subordinate to him, and as a result they are in a mediator, aiding, and even murdering him. In the end, the characters were passive by the actions of Cho Eui-gwan, but gradually their roles were transformed. The character changes its function in the text through the mutual network. The root cause is triggered by the ambivalence of Cho Eui-gwan. When Cho Eui-gwan is the actor, Cho, Chang-hoon, Suwon-zip, Choi, cham-bong, and Ji zu-sa act as their mobility. The ambivalence of the assistant counselor who does not make enough rewards for those who are most trusting in the others has transformed the peripheral people from passive to transformative. In addition, Cho Chang-hoon, Choi cham-bong and Suwon-zip were involved in the case of arsenic poisoning death of Cho, who is a mysterious factor. However, Ji zu-sa was formed as a person who was subject to the guardian and protected him. 김정진, 2018. 『삼대』의 조의관과 주변인물 연구, 어문연구, 180 : 233~256 이 논문에서는 『三代』의 조의관의 양가성(兩價性)을 중심으로 주변 인물들과의 관계성과 역할변화의 내용을 분석했다. 조의관의 아이러니한 욕망실천은 작품분석 결과 양가적 성격으로 평가되었다. 그의 근대적인 세계를 지향하는 금전욕망과 봉건적 수구욕망이 상충하기 때문에 그는 양가적 상황에 봉착한다. 그리고 조의관의 이중적 욕망의 실천은 주변인들의 배신과 대립 등의 갈등을 발생시켰다. 그 결과 그들은 조의관을 속이거나 방조하고 심지어 그를 살해하게 된다. 결국 주변 인물들은 조의관의 행동에 의해 수동적이었다가 점차 그 역할이 변모된다. 인물은 상호 관계망을 통해 작중에서 변화되는데 근본적인 원인은 조의관의 양가성에 의해 촉발되었다. 조의관이 행동자일 때 수동자로서의 조창훈, 수원집, 최참봉 그리고 지주사는 서사의 흐름에 따라 그 역할이 변화된다. 결국 『三代』를 이끌어가는 서사 전개의 중요한 요소 중 하나는 조의관과 주변인들의 관계망에 의한다고 할 수 있다.

사자(四字) 구성으로 살펴본 『훈몽자회』의 유의어 분류 체계 연구

본고에서는 사자(四字) 구성으로 이루어진 『훈몽자회』의 어휘들이 근원적인 의미로부터 비근원적인 의미, 상의어로부터 하의어, 전체어로부터 부분어, 전형어로부터 주변어로 반영되는 양상을 구체적으로 살펴보고 이를 동양의 전통적 학문 기반으로부터 재해석하여 현대적 어법에 맞게 풀이함으로써 과거의 전통을 현재에 이어 새로운 학문으로 연계하는 지식 체계를 갖추고자 한다. 『훈몽자회』 속 사자(四字) 구성을 중심으로, 기존 논의에서 다루어온 공부류어(co-taxonymy) 개념이나 상의어, 전체어, 전형어(prototype word)가 먼저 오고 하의어, 부분어(partonym 또는 meronym), 주변어 등의 관계 개념을 적극적으로 활용하고 『훈몽자회』 사자(四字) 구성 속의 1자어, 2자어 간의 유의 관계를 정리하여 16세기 전통 시대의 유의어 분류 체계를 정리함으로써 현대적 관점에서의 유의 체계(synonemal system)와의 차별성을 부각시켰다. In this paper, the vocabulary of Hunmongjahoe (훈몽자회) composed of four characters is ranged and reflected from the fundamental meaning to the non-fundamental meaning, from hypernym to hyponym, from holonym to partonym, and from the prototype word to the peripheral word. By examining it in detail and reinterpreting it from the traditional academic base of the East, also interpreting it by the modern vocabulary, it is intended to establish a knowledge system, which means to gain new insights by studying the past. Focusing on the composition of the four characters in the Hunmongjahoe, the concepts which have been discussed such as co-taxonymy, hypernym, holonym, and the prototype word come first. Followed by hyponym and partonym, peripheral word are actively used, and the significant relationship between one and two words in the composition of Hunmongjahoe four characters were arranged. The synonym classification system of the traditional 16th century was organized from a modern point of view. It emphasized its differentiation from the synonym system.

This paper attemps to invstigate properties of hard-boiled detective novel and to analyze the text structures of the genre. This paper is presented in three parts. The first part deals with properties of hard-boiled detective novel genre. They are intentionality, intertextuality, schemas. The second part shows the character roles of hard-boiled. Usually, detective is narrator because he/she motivates the actions and show us the real world. In the third part, the types of the sub-texts of hard-boiled novel are analyzed. Hard-boiled novels have somewhat different structure that puzzle mysteries do not have. Some peripheral texts that never play important roles in the main plot are inserted. The main narrative structure is arranged by linear structure and sub-texts can be branched out from the main text.
