      • Decision making for probabilistic fatigue inspection planning based on multi-objective optimization

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Probabilistic service life management of a deteriorating structure subjected to fatigue is a systemic process of assessing and predicting its structural performance, and establishing the optimum inspection and repair plans under uncertainty. In order to consider multiple objectives for optimum inspection and repair planning simultaneously, it is necessary to apply the multi-objective probabilistic optimization process (MOPOP) approach. In general, an increase in the number of objectives that requires probabilistic simulations for fatigue initiation and propagation results in high computational cost and difficulty in the visualization of Pareto optimal solutions and decision making to select the best solutions. Consequently, efficient decision making for multi-objective inspection planning of fatigue-sensitive structures is necessary. This paper deals with such a decision making framework for probabilistic fatigue inspection planning based on multi-objective optimization. The multiple objectives are converted into a single objective by using weights of the objectives, and as a result, a single optimum solution for inspection planning is obtained. The final decision making is performed by identifying the essential objectives and selecting the best Pareto optimal solution. Furthermore, the computational efficiency of the decision making and the effect of the uncertainties associated with fatigue crack initiation and propagation on the decision making for optimum inspection planning are investigated.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Decision making framework to deal with a large number of objectives efficiently is presented for optimum inspection planning. </LI> <LI> Computational efficiency of the decision making is investigated. </LI> <LI> Effects of uncertainties associated with fatigue crack damage prediction on decision making are investigated. </LI> <LI> The proposed framework is illustrated through the optimum inspection planning for a fatigue-sensitive detail of an existing bridge. </LI> </UL> </P>

        대학생의 지각된 진로장애와 진로결정수준간의 관계: 진로결정자기효능감과 낙관성의 매개효과

        This study aimed to examine how career decision-making self-efficacy and optimism may mediate the relationship between career decision levels and perceived career barriers in college students. The results were as follows: First, a structural model of a partially mediating role of career decision-making self-efficacy was hypothesized and tested regarding the relationship between perceived career barriers and career decision levels. Second, a structural model of a partially mediating role of optimism was hypothesized and tested regarding the relationship between perceived career barriers and career decision levels. Third a structural model of a partially mediating role of career decision-making self-efficacy was hypothesized and tested regarding the relationship between optimism and career decision levels. The implications of this study were that the variables regarding career decision levels investigated may be able to be used to create a model to help college students in their decision making processes. However, the primary limitation of this study was the lack of an immediate, practical application of the results to the fields of either education or counseling. 본 연구는 대학생의 지각된 진로장애와 진로결정수준간의 관계에서 진로결정자기효능감과 낙관성이 매개변인의 역할을 하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 광주시 소재 대학생 283명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구도구는 한국대학생 진로결정 장애검사, 진로결정자기효능감 검사, 낙관성 검사, 진로결정수준 검사를 사용하였다. 자료분석을 위해 상관분석 및 공변량구조분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 진로결정자기효능감이 지각된 진로장애와 진로결정수준간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 낙관성이 지각된 진로장애와 진로결정수준간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로결정자기효능감이 낙관성과 진로결정수준간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의는 대학생들의 진로결정수준을 돕기 위해 좀 더 효과적으로 다룰 수 있는 진로결정자기효능감과 낙관성 요인을 밝혀내었다는 점이다. 추후 본 연구 결과를 활용하여 교육 및 상담성과에 대한 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

        대학생의 낙관성이 진로결정수준과 진로적응성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 대학생의 낙관성이 진로결정수준과 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 진로결정자기효능감과 진로장벽의 매개효과가 있는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 전국의 일반 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 남녀 대학생 총 758명을 표집하였다. 낙관성이 진로결정수준과 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 진로결정자기효능감은 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났는데 진로결정수준보다는 진로적응성에 영향을 더 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 낙관성이 진로결정수준과 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 진로장벽의 매개효과는 진로결정수준에 완전매개효과, 진로적응성에 부분매개효과를 나타냄으로써 진로결정수준에 더 큰 영향력을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 대학생의 진로결정수준을 높이기 위해서는 진로장벽에 대한 개입과 점검이 필요하며, 진로적응성을 높이기 위해서는 진로에 대한 낙관성 프로그램과 더불어 진로결정자기효능감의 하위요인을 구체적으로 검토할 수 있는 작업을 병행하는 것이 더 효율적이며, 진로지도에 있어 개인의 진로 역량 수준 파악을 통해 차별화된 접근의 필요성에 대한 방향성을 제시하였다. This article is aimed to prove mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy scale and career barriers as optimism of college students affects career decision scale and career adaptability. In order to prove it, 758 male and female students in 4-year colleges in Korea were collected. The result shows that mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy has partial mediation effect on career decision scale and career adaptability; more effect on career adaptability. It also proves that mediating effect of career barriers affects more on career decision scale showing full mediation effect on career decision scale and partial mediation effect on career adaptability. Based on the result, this research suggests that the intervention and review is necessary in order to improve career decision scale of college students. Also, in order to improve career adaptability, it may be more effective to implement the program to check subfactors of career decision-making self-efficacy scale specifically along with optimism program. Finally, the research suggests the direction of differentiated approach to career guide understanding personal career capability.

      • Multiobjective Decision-Making applied to Ship Optimal Design

        Ship optimal design is a multi-objective decision-making process and its optimal solution does not exit in general. It is a problem in which the decision-maker is very interested that an effective solution is how to be found which has good characteristic and is substituted for optimal solution in a sense. In the previous methods of multi-objective decision-making, the weighting coefficients are decided from the point of view of individuals which have a bit sub-jective an unilateral behavior. in order to fairly and objectively decide the weighting coeffi-cients, which are considered to be optimal in all system of multi-objective decision-making and satisfactory solution to the decision-maker, the pater presents a method of applying the Technology of the Biggest Entropy. It is proved that the method described in the paper is very feasible and effective be means of a practical example of ship optimal design.

        대학생의 낙관성과 진로결정수준 및 진로적응성의 관계 -진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과-

        본 연구는 대학생의 진로결정수준 및 진로적응성에 낙관성이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 것과 이 과정에서 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과가 있는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 전국의 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 남학생 411명, 여학생 347명으로 총 758명을 연구대상으로 표집하였다. 대학생의 낙관성이 진로결정수준과 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과는 전체집단에서는 부분매개효과로 각각 나타났으나, 성별로 구분하여 분석한 결과에서 여학생만 진로결정자기효능감의 부분매개 효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 진로상담 현장 및 진로집단프로그램 진행시 성별로 그 내용구성과 진행에 있어 차별적 개입 및 접근을 시도할 필요가 있다. 낙관성이 진로적응성에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과가 유의한 결과로 나타났으므로 대학생의 진로적응성을 향상시키기 위해 진로에 대한 낙관성 훈련 프로그램을 진행시 진로결정자기효능감의 하위요인들을 구체적으로 탐색할 필요가 있다. 진로지도 현장에서 남학생과 여학생의 차별적인 진로개입에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이며, 진로영역에서 핵심요소인 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과에 대한 보다 다양한 후속연구를 위해 제언하였다. This study examined relationship between optimism in college students and their career decision scale and career adaptability. Total 758 college students (411 males, 347 females) were sampled for quantitative analysis. Findings included that optimism has more effect on career adaptability than career decision scale. Also we found that career decision-making self-efficacy scale has a partial mediating effect to the sample as a whole, with its effect only on female students, not on males. Practice implications were discussed in regard to a necessity of gender-differentiated career counseling approach, an advantage of optimism training program and ways of increasing the effect of career decision-making self-efficacy scale.

        One of key challenges for existing managers is making decision in their daily activities by selecting the best optimal and timely decisional choice. Therefore, choosing and using the optimal criteria, which positively influence in the right decision from multiple criteria, have become significantly important to make the best decision for solution a problem. This method of “Multiple criteria decision making” has been used frequently for last years in management practices. This article illustrates findings of rankings by innovation potentials of top public universities in Mongolia using TOPSIS method ranking them by18 criteria in five groups.

        긍정정서가 대학생활 만족도에 미치는 영향: 낙관성과 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과

        This study examines the dual mediating effects of optimism and career decision-making self-efficacy between positive emotion and college satisfaction among college students. A survey of 318 undergraduate students was conducted using the Positive Emotion Scale, the Revised Life Orientation Test Scale, the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale, and the College Satisfaction Scale. Regression analysis, SPSS macros, and bootstrapping methods were employed to analyze the dual mediation effects. The study obtained the following results: First, the college students’ positive emotions significantly affected their college satisfaction. Second, optimism partially mediated the relationship between positive emotion and college satisfaction. Third, career decision-making self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between career stress and major satisfaction. Lastly, positive emotions indirectly influenced college satisfaction through the dual mediation by optimism and career decision-making self-efficacy. The significance of this study and its suggestions for further study were discussed.

      • Ship Collision Avoidance Path Planning Based on Particle Swarm Optimization and Neural Network in Bad Weather

        Ship collision accidents not only endanger the safety of ships and personnel, but also may cause serious marine environmental pollution. To solve this problem, advanced technologies have been developed and applied in the field of intelligent ships in recent years. In this paper, a novel path planning algorithm is proposed based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to construct a decision-making system for ship's autonomous collision avoidance using the process analysis which combines with the ship encounter situation and the decision-making method based on ship collision avoidance responsibility. This algorithm is designed to avoid both static and dynamic obstacles by judging the collision risk considering bad weather conditions by using BP neural network. When the two ships enter a certain distance, the optimal collision avoidance course and speed of the ship are obtained through the improved collision avoidance decision-making method. Finally, through MATLAB and Visual C++ platform simulations, the results show that the ship collision avoidance decision-making scheme can obtain reasonable optimal collision avoidance speed and course, which can ensure the safety of ship path planning and reduce energy consumption.

        대학생의 독립적자기관과 진로낙관성의 관계에서 진로결정 자율성과 지각된 외적 진로장벽의 조절된 매개효과 검증

        The purpose of this study was to examine the moderated mediating effect of perceived external career barriers through career decision-making autonomy on the relationship between independent self-construal and career optimism. Participants included 313 junior and senior university students who completed the following questionnaires: Cultural Self-construal Scale, Career Futures Inventory, Career Decision-Making Autonomy Scale, Career Barriers Inventory; data from 276 participants was analyzed. Results of this study are as follows: First, all variables showed statistically significant correlations. Second, a mediating effect of career decision-making autonomy on the relationship between independent self-construal and career optimism was found. Third, moderating effect of perceived external career barriers on the relationship between independent self-construal and career decision-making autonomy was found. Finally, it was also found that perceived external career barriers moderated the mediating effect of independent self-construal on career optimism through career decision-making autonomy. Implications of these results and suggestions for future studies are discussed. 본 연구는 독립적 자기관과 진로낙관성의 관계를 진로결정 자율성이 매개하며, 이 경로를 지각된 외적 진로장벽이 조절하는지 확인하기 위해 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 대학교 3,4학년 이상에 재학 중인 남녀 학생 313명을 대상으로 주체성-자율성-대상성 자기관 척도, 진로미래검사, 진로결정 자율성 척도, 진로장애검사 척도 등을 활용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 총 분석에는 276명의 학생의 자료가 사용되었다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 독립적 자기관, 지각된 외적 진로장벽, 진로결정 자율성, 진로낙관성 간의 유의한 상관 관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 매개효과 검증 결과, 진로결정 자율성이 독립적 자기관과 진로낙관성의 관계를 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 독립적 자기관과 진로결정 자율성의 관계를 지각된 외적 진로장벽이 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, SPSS Macro를 이용한 조절된 매개효과 분석 결과, 독립적 자기관과 진로낙관성의 관계를 진로결정 자율성이 매개하며, 이 경로를 지각된 외적 진로장벽이 조절하는 것으로 나타나 조절된 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의 및 진로낙관성 발달을 위한 시사점, 후속 연구를 위한 제언 등을 논의하였다.

        Evaluation criterion for different methods of multiple-attribute group decision making with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information

        A number of effective methods for multiple-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs) have been proposed in recent years. However, the different methods frequently yield different, even sometimes contradictory, results for the same problem. In this paper a novel criterion to determine the advantages and disadvantages of different methods is proposed. First, the decision-making process is divided into three parts: translation of experts’ preferences, aggregation of experts’ opinions, and comparison of the alternatives. Experts’ preferences aggregation is considered the core step, and the quality of the collective matrix is considered the most important evaluation index for the aggregation methods. Then, methods to calculate the similarity measure, correlation, correlation coefficient, and energy of the intuitionistic fuzzy matrices are proposed, which are employed to evaluate the collective matrix. Thus, the optimal method can be selected by comparing the collective matrices when all the methods yield different results. Finally, a novel approach for aggregating experts’ preferences with IVIFN is presented. In this approach, experts’ preferences are mapped as points into two-dimensional planes, with the plant growth simulation algorithm (PGSA) being employed to calculate the optimal rally points, which are inversely mapped to IVIFNs to establish the collective matrix. In the study, four different methods are used to address one example problem to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
