전주국제영화제의 주제의식과 콘텐츠 변화 연구

2000년 처음 시작된 전주국제영화제는 부산, 부천에 이어 후발주자로 시작되었으나 대안, 디지털, 독립이라는 주제의식을 내세워 16회 동안 이어져왔다. 영화라는 매체를 사용해 대안의 한 형태를 제시해왔고 영화제가 진행되는 동안 다양한 주제를 다루었다. 일반적인 주류영화에서는 다루지 않는 소외된 사람, 사물, 가치를 중심으로 한 영화들을 소개했다. 여성, 노인, 청소년, 동성애, 소수민족, 제 3세계, 국가권력과 자본에 의해 고통 받는 일반 시민 등 소외된 대상을 전주국제영화제의 중심으로 이끌어냈다. 전주국제영화제가 제시하는 대안은 디지털 기술의 활용과 독립영화 장르의 주목을 통해 가능했다. 전주국제영화제의 세 가지 주제의식은 영화제의 콘텐츠 구성에 있어 중요한 역할을 해낸 것이다. 변화기에 놓여있는 전주국제영화제는 세 가지 주제의식에서 디지털을 떼어내고 새로운 도약을 준비하고 있다. 대안, 디지털, 독립이라는 주제의식을 중심으로 전주국제영화제의 콘텐츠는 변화했다. 콘텐츠의 변화를 한 눈에 알아볼 수 있는 것은 JIFF 프로젝트인 디지털 삼인삼색과 숏숏숏을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 두 가지 프로그램이 지나온 것을 확인하는 것은 곧 전주국제영화제의 콘텐츠의 흐름을 확인할 수 있다. JIFF 프로젝트는 전주국제영화제에서 직접 생산하는 콘텐츠들을 확인 할 수 있다면, 다른 섹션에서는 대안적 형태의 실험적 성격이 강한 독립영화들이 관객과 만날 수 있는 장을 제공하고 있다. 다른 국제영화제에서도 독립영화들에 대한 지지와 소개할 수 있는 섹션을 운영하지만, 전주국제영화제는 출범하면서부터 독립영화를 주목하고 그에 맞는 정체성을 내세웠다. 결과적으로 전주국제영화제는 16회가 진행되는 동안 주제의식을 중심으로 대안적이고 실험적인 콘텐츠를 생산해왔다. 전주국제영화제의 주제의식이 이제는 기존의 디지털이라는 주제의식을 떼어내고 대안과 독립 두 가지로 주제의식을 수정했다. 제 1회 전주국제영화제가 출범할 당시 디지털이 가지고 있던 의미가 이제는 사라졌지만, 대안으로서의 성격은 유지되고 있다. 전주국제영화제의 대안적 성격은 지금도 유효하고 의미 있는 도전으로 여겨지고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 더 많은 대안영화들이 주류 영화제에 진입하기 위해서는 대안문화를 새롭게 해석하는 다양한 도전과 시도가 필요한 시점이다. This study analyzed the Jeonju International Film Festival, from the 1st festival held in the year 2000 to the 16th festival held in the year 2015 from an organizational aspect. The Jeonju International Film Festival was a late starter after Busan and Bucheon but with its alternative, digital, and independent themes, it has continued on for 16 years. It has presented alternative forms using film media and it has covered various themes during its progression. It has introduced films that focus on people, objects, and values that are neglected and not covered by general mainstream films. Neglected subjects such as women, the elderly, adolescents, gays, minorities, those in third world countries, and general citizens suffering from government power and capital have been brought out as focused subjects of the Jeonju International Film Festival. The alternatives proposed by the Jeonju International Film Festival were made possible through the utilization of digital technology and focus placed on the independent film genre. The three themes of the Jeonju International Film Festival played an important role in constructing the contents of the film festival. The Jeonju International Film Festival in its changing phase removes the digital element from three themes and is preparing for a new leap. The contents of the Jeonju International Film Festival have changed to place focus on alternative, digital, and independent themes. Changes in contents can be seen at a glance through the JIFF projects ‘Digital Short Films by Film Makers’ and ‘Short! Short! Short!’. The passing of the two kinds of programs shows the flow of Jeonju International Film Festival contents. However the identity of the Jeonju International Film Festival is yet to become known to many people. Directors and actors who have produced works through the Jeonju International Film Festival and its numerous film contents have only been met by the limited number of people who have sought out the film festival. As a result, while the themes and film contents of the Jeonju International Film Festival have fully been recognized for their value by film festival experts and enthusiasts, it has been pointed out that it lacks popular appeal which would allow it to be experienced by many more people. In the future, the Jeonju International Film Festival should find ways to bring the contents that it has produced over the past 16 years to a wider public that also includes those who have visited and will visit the film festival. At this, the researcher of this study presented four methods with which to utilize the contents of the Jeonju International Film Festival.

프랑크푸르트 국제도서 박람회의 어제와 내일 - 오래된 역사, 만들어진 전통, 새로운 도전-

The Frankfurt International Book Fair, renowned for its long and rich history, is undoubtedly the mecca of the international book trade. Held annually every autumn in Frankfurt am Main, the Book Fair draws approximately 10,000 publishers, book dealers, and literary agents from more than one hundred countries worldwide. In spite of its important role and significant influence in this field, research has been rarely done on the event both in Korea and abroad. The purpose of this article, thus, is to reexamine and reevaluate the ‘communication circuit’ of the fair, which starts from authors and then includes publishers, printers, book dealers, and finally readers, by focusing on and looking into the ups and downs of the Frankfurt International Book Fair from the middle of the 15th century down to the present. In Chapter II the author keeps track of the Medieval origins of the Fair and explores its earlier developments made until the end of the 17th century. Chapter III covers the Frankfurt International Book Fair’s modern revival in 1949 and its internalization and progress accomplished by the end of the 20th century. Especially Peter Weidhass, who served as director of the Fair between 1975 and 2000, launched new traditions such as the system of Topical Themes/ Focus of Interest and System of Theme Country/Guest of Honour. Chapter III also outlines the Frankfurt Book Fair’s struggle to cope with the digital revolution that threatened the death of Gutenberg Galaxy. The result was the Fair’s transformation and expansion into an electronic and virtual realm in the new millennium. In conclusion, the author reappraises that the Frankfurt International Book Fair, with its five - hundred rocky history, has been in the process of constantly re - inventing its self identity: moving away from an event for printers and publishers to one for book dealers and from literary agents’ fair to contents creators’ one. The author wishfully predicts that the Fair will prevail in the age of the so - called New Media Age as long as it, instead of remaining as a mirror reflecting passively the times, is not afraid of challenging and leading the future trend in the knowledge industry. 주지하듯이, 프랑크푸르트 국제도서 박람회는 세계에서 가장 오래된 역사와 전통 을 자랑하는 현재진행형인 ‘서적 무역의 메카’이다. 우리나라도 2005년에 이 박람회 의 주빈국 자격으로 참가하여 독일의 구텐베르크에 앞서서 금속활자를 발명했던 ‘원 조국’임을 전 세계에 과시했다. 프랑크푸르트 북 - 페어가 담당하는 중요한 기능과 영 향력에도 불구하고, 놀랍게도 이 국제행사에 관한 국내외 선행연구는 대단히 빈약하 다. 독일어권·영어권에서도 이 도서 박람회를 소재(주인공)로 한 논문이나 전문서는 아직도 거의 황무지 상태이다. 국내 학계에는 단 한 편의 논문조차도 출간되지 않았 다. 위와 같은 배경에서 프랑크푸르트 도서 박람회의 역사적 기원, 형성과정, 성장과 쇠퇴의 시대적 환경, 관련된 주요 사건과 인물, 국제적인 영향력과 역사적 유산 등을 종합적으로 추적·서술함으로써 국내외 선행연구의 공백과 약점을 미력하게나마 수 정·보완하려는 것이 이 글의 핵심적인 의도이다. 본문은 다음과 같은 세 부분으로 구성된다. 제Ⅱ장에서는 15세기 중엽에서 17세기 말에 이르는 시기에 걸친 ‘원조’ 프랑크푸르트 박람회의 초창기 모습과 성격 및 근대 적 전환기의 특징 등을 추적한다. 제Ⅲ장에서는 1949년에 부활한 현대판 박람회가 상업주의, 냉전체제, ‘68혁명 등 시대적 장애물을 극복하면서 국제적인 박람회로 전성 시대를 구가하는 과정을 2000년까지 비평적으로 서술한다. 제Ⅳ장에서는 전자책과 멀티미디어로 대변되는 디지털혁명이 가속하는 ‘구텐베르크 圖書 문명의 몰락’이라는 위기를 프랑크푸르트 박람회가 발전의 뜀틀로 삼고자 어떻게 애쓰고 있는지를 스케 치하며 책의 미래와 국제도서전의 지속 가능성을 진단하고자 한다. 다시 말하자면, 질적·양적으로 빈곤한 선행연구를 나침판 삼아 불완전한 부분을 꿰매고 채워나감으 로써 프랑크푸르트 박람회의 윤곽을 좀 더 입체적으로 드러내려는 것이 이 논문을 관통하는 주제 의식이다. 연구결과가 출판인쇄업자·서적유통 도소매업자·서적에이전 트 등 잊히거나 과소평가된 책 세상 종사자에 관한 관심을 자극하여 후속 사례연구 를 초대하는 투박한 디딤돌이 되기를 기대한다.

대학생의 진로결정과정에서의 Holland 흥미 유형별 내적·맥락적 장벽 요인의 효과모형검증연구

The present study examined whether the influence of perceived career barriers, consisting of both internal career and contextual barriers on career-decision making processes would be different according to pursuit of career domains. 574 college students participated in this study in order to better understand the sub-factors of perceived contextual barriers and to examine the differences among career domains as defined by Holland's RIASEC themes. The perceived contextual barrier consisted of 3 sub-factors; material constraints, social influence, and discrimination. Perceived contextual barriers significantly influenced career related variables such as self-efficacy, career interest, and career decisions in all Holland themes but the paths of theses variables differed according to Holland's themes. Examination of the effects of both internal career barriers and contextual career barriers on career decision making processes revealed significant differences among Holland's RIASEC themes. Explanations for unexpected outcomes and suggestions for future research are also discussed. 본 연구는 사회인지진로이론을 적용하여 Holland 흥미유형에 따른 한국 대학생의 희망 진로분야의 맥락적 그리고 내적 진로장벽이 진로결정과정에 미치는 영향의 차이를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 서울 소재 4년제 대학 재학생(N=574명)이 지각하고 있는 맥락적 장벽의 하위요인을 구명하고, Holland의 RIASEC 유형으로 구분한 각각의 진로분야별로 자기효능감, 진로흥미, 진로결정 등의 변인에 진로장벽이 어떤 영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 그 결과, 한국 대학생들이 지각하는 맥락적 장벽은 ‘물질적 제약’, ‘사회적 영향’, ‘지역 차별’ 등 3개의 하위요인으로 구성되었으며, Holland 유형의 모든 진로분야에서 맥락적 장벽의 지각이 진로결정 변인들에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 진로분야에 따라 맥락적 장벽의 지각과 자기효능감, 진로흥미, 그리고 진로결정 간의 경로에 차이가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 내적 진로장벽과 맥락적 장벽을 진로장벽에 포함시키는 경우에도 Holland 진로유형에 따라 진로결정변인들 간의 관계에 유의미한 차이가 존재하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

Music Curriculum in International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme

The purpose of this study is to analyze the music curriculum in International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and to draw implications for music education in Korea. The IB PYP is an internationally accredited curriculum adopted by schools in many countries including Korea. The distinct characteristic of the PYP is that it presents the curriculum in which six subjects and six transdisciplinary themes are integrated, and focuses on helping students to actively explore each subject and transdisciplinary theme. In the IB PYP, music can be a lens for exploring transdisciplinary themes, and the students’ inquiry is learning ‘about’ music and transdisciplinary themes ‘through’ music is intensified in the spiral structure throughout the school year. The music curriculum in the PYP provides implications for organizing the transdisciplinary theme-based music curriculum integrated with other subjects and the student-centered inquiry learning.

세계박람회 주제구현과 주제적용분야에 관한 연구 -2012 여수세계박람회를 중심으로-

(연구배경 및 목적) 세계박람회를 성공적으로 추진하기 위해서는 무엇보다 먼저 주제를 어떻게 구현하고자 하는 목표가 분명해야 할 것이다. 주최국에서는 주제를 구현하기 위해 가장 효율적으로 분배하고 활용하는 방안을 제시해 주어야한다. 세계박람회의 위상과 개최여건이 크게 변화함에 따라 주최국의 입장에서 오늘날의 세계박람회가 과연 무엇을 위해 개최되는지, 그리고 목적하는 바를 이루기 위해 무엇을 해야 하는지를 명확하게 제시해 주어야 한다. (연구방법) 이에 본 연구에서는 세계박람회의 개최 환경 및 주제의 변화를 살펴보고 주제구현 사례로 2012여수세계박람회의 참가국가이드라인 주제 매트릭스 틀로 분석하여 평가하였다. (결과) 21세기 세계박람회의 주제는 친환경을 강조하고 있으며 향후 친환경적인 라이프스타일을 강조하는 주제로 진행될 것이다. 여수세계박람회의 주제 매트릭스 분석결과 주제구현에 있어 매우 미흡한 점이 많이 발견되었으며 그것을 보안하여 우리나라에서도 등록박람회가 열리기를 기대한다. (Background and Purpose) The foremost priority while preparing for a successful World Expo is to provide a clear objective concerning the development of the theme. It is imperative for the host country to adopt the most effective measures to subdivide and utilize the main theme. As the World Expo`s relevance as well as the conditions of its hosting have significantly changed over time, the organizer must clarify the ultimate purpose of hosting the event, and indicate the specific measures for attaining the goals. (Method) This study provides a theoretical examination of the World Expo and looks at the thematic development of Expo 2012 Yeosu, Korea. The changing environment surrounding the expos is examined by the study of documents. Moreover, the success factors and theme-oriented approaches are indicated. The thematic matrix laid out in the Participation Guide is used to determine the effectiveness of the illustration of the theme of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea. (Result) The themes of the 21st century expos highlight environment friendliness. An increasing emphasis will be placed on ecologically friendly lifestyles in the future expos. The analytical results of the thematic matrix of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea indicate many areas for improvement. It is hoped that Korea will be able to host a registered exposition by implementing these measures for improvement.

『미국인』에 나타난 배신의 양상

Henry James is renowned as an international writer who deals with international theme, namely cultural conflict between old and new continents. However, he explores not only the difference between the values ​​of old and new cultures but also the inner motives and psychology of human beings through the literary material of international theme. His work reflects on human by focusing on the experiences and consequences of a betrayal arising from human relationships built on trust. In particular, James highlights the deepest emotional layers of “American being used and betrayed by Europeans” in The American, an early work of international theme. For example, he captures and depicts the dynamics of a betrayal and various types of men derived from money and manifold motives, centered on the interests of betrayers and the betrayed. In other words, he covers diverse types of betrayals, their motives for a betrayal, the nature of their betrayals, the complex minds and forgiveness of victims of a betrayal, and even the renunciation. James is a so-called modern psychological novelist whose work demonstrates the deepest emotional layers of human beings by associating a betrayal with international theme, which destroys human relationships in breach of trust. 헨리 제임스(Henry James)는 신구 양대륙의 문화 충돌, 즉 국제 주제를 다룬 국제 작가로 저명하다. 그러나 그는 국제 주제라는 문학 소재를 통하여 신구 양문화의 가치 차이에만 치중한 것이 아니라 인간 내면의 동기와 심리를 탐색한다. 그의 작품은 상호 간에 신뢰를 기반으로 형성된 인간관계에서 일어나는 배신의 경험과 결과에 초점을 맞춤으로써 인간에 대한 성찰을 보여준다. 특히 제임스는 국제 주제 초기작품인 『미국인』(The American)에서도 ‘유럽인에 의해 이용당하고 배신당하는 미국인’의 심층을 조명한다. 예컨대 그는 배신자와 배신당하는 자의 이해관계를 중심으로 돈과 여러 동기에서 비롯된 배신의 역학관계와 인간 군상을 포착하여 묘사한다. 다시 말해 그는 다양한 배신의 유형과 배신의 동기, 배신의 속성, 배신으로 인한 피해자의 복잡한 심경과 용서, 그리고 복수 포기라는 결과까지 망라한다. 이른바 제임스는 국제 주제와 신뢰를 위반하여 인간관계를 파괴하는 배신을 결부하여 인간 심층의 감정 단층을 투영한 현대 심리 소설가라고 할 수 있다.

EXPO architecture shows the tendency by high-tech devices that give dynamism based on technological power to emphasize the symbolism. By applying dynamic kinetic structure of kinetic architectural elements, But also to be effective and branded to enhance value in the theme implementation by adding progressive and boldness.

헨리 제임스의 여인의 초상을 통해 살펴본 매너의 문제

The Portrait of a Lady is regarded as the masterpiece of Henry James’s entire literary work dealing with the international theme. Under the theme, James, as a lifetime transatlantic traveler, uses manners as an interesting subject of study in contrasting American and European civilizations. He examines these two distinct cultures by presenting the manners of each world and showing how these manners clash and are mixed in the international scene. In this novel, the manners of the innocent anarchic and independent Isabel, who lacks social experience, reveal the cultural level of a young and uncivilized America. While the outspoken and excessive manners of Henrietta Stackpole embody a militant and provincial Americanism, Madam Merle, who absorbs European social norms without criticism, exemplifies another extreme case of provincialism. The ideal cosmopolitan manners are displayed by Mr. Touchett and his son Ralph, who apply a liberal, balanced, and flexible approach in the face of the international conflict of manners by adopting European culture in a practical way while preserving their American spirit.

It is known that there are two types of bare topics in Korean. One is a familiar bare topic appearing in the sentence-initial position, which is like a hanging topic or a dislocated element. The other is an unfamiliar bare topic appearing in the NP-initial position. Kim Y.-H. (1989) called the latter “constituent theme”, suggesting that it is a topic that its host NP is about, and claimed that it forms a constituent with its host NP. In this paper, we argue that, in fact, it does not. A piece of evidence is the fact that the so-called constituent theme can be separated from its host NP by an adjunct. Then, we claim that it is a clause-internal topic that the rest of the sentence following it is about. We also show that it is base-generated in a position between TP and vP.

「어떤 오래된 옷의 로맨스」에 나타난 헨리 제임스의 미국 남북 서사

Henry James is reputed for his career-long dedication to the so-called ‘international theme.’ Such reputation has obscured many other sides of James’s literary performance, among which his interest in, and concern about, Americanness per se should be counted. That obscuring is most patent when it comes to his earliest short stories. Unlike his cosmopolitan and even transnational novels in the later phases of his career, James’s short stories in the 1860s have long been neglected for featuring too narrowly American subjects like the Civil War and devalued as immature novelistic attempts. Rejecting that neglect and devaluing, this paper proposes to reconsider James’s attention to the Civil War as the groundwork for his much bigger and deeper vision of the history of America as a whole. The paper examines one of his earliest works, “The Romance of Certain Old Clothes,” as a historical allegory of how America had repeated the same mistake of overlooking irreconcilable differences within the nation, that is, between the North and the South, from the Colonial era till the postbellum period. The paper in fine argues for James’s genuine and serious caring about America as a truly unique polity full of disparate diversities.
