        언어치료사의 청각장애 아동에 대한 인식 및 요구도 분석

        This study was to investigate the recognitions and demands of speech therapists on speech therapies for children with hearing impairment. For this study, we implemented questionnaires using 70 subjects who work in G metropolitan city and intervene children with hearing impairment. As a result, it appeared that speech therapists believe that speech therapies for children have to be started immediately after hearing impairment was noticed and before starting to wear any hearing aids. The appropriate time for sign language education is when children are considered to be difficult to speak normally and immediately after hearing impairment noticed, while the suitable time for oral approach education is before starting to wear any hearing aids and right after hearing impairment noticed. For the demands on education participation in speech therapies for children with hearing impairment, interests and needs were high on parent consultations in hearing impairment, intervention methods for hearing impairment, evaluation methods for hearing impairment and uses of assessment tools. Regarding any improvements for speech therapies, demands were high on preparation for teaching aids and testing tools, enough time assignment for evaluation, various teaching materials for the disabled and developments of teaching aids. During speech therapies of hearing impairment, difficulties were reported regarding lack of knowledge about hearing impairment therapy procedures, lack of teaching materials for children with hearing impairment, lack of teaching aids and so on. 이 연구는 언어치료사를 대상으로 청각장애 아동에 대한 언어치료 인식 및 요구도를 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 G광역시에 근무하고 청각장애 아동을 중재하고 있는 언어치료사 70명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 언어치료사들은 청각장애 아동의 언어치료의 시작 시기는 청각장애를 발견한 직후부터 그리고 청각보조기기를 착용하기 전부터 언어치료를 시작해야 한다고 나타났다. 수화와 구화 교육의 적절한 시작 시기로는 수화교육은 말을 정상적으로 하기 어렵다고 판단 될 때와 청각장애를 발견한 직후부터, 구화교육은 청각보조기기를 착용하기 전부터와 청각장애를 발견한 직후부터 시작하는 것이 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 청각장애 아동의 언어치료를 위한 교육 참여 요구도에서는 청각장애에 관한 부모상담, 청각장애 중재방법, 청각장애 평가방법 및 평가도구 사용 등에 대한 관심과 요구도가 높았다. 언어치료를 위한 개선사항으로는 교구 및 검사도구의 구비, 평가에 충분한 시간 배정, 대상자를 위한 다양한 교재, 교구의 개발에 대한 요구도가 높았다. 청각장애의 언어치료 시 어려움은 청각장애 치료를 위한 절차에 관한 지식 부족, 청각장애 아동을 지도하기 위한 자료, 교구의 부족 등에서 어려움이 나타났다.

        청각장애 근로자의 인사관리자의 직업 적응에 관한 인식 연구

        청각장애는 눈에 보이지 않는 장애로 잘 알려져 있다. 그렇기 때문에 덜 소외받는 듯 하지만 더욱 철저히 소외를 받고 있다 해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 쉽게 취업의 문턱을 넘지만 또한 쉽게 취업의 문턱 밖으로 밀려나는 깃이 청각장애인이다. 이는 청각이라는 감각의 손실이 단순한 기능의 장애에 머무는 것이 아니라 의사소통, 의식수준, 문화 등 다양한 영역에까지 그 영향을 미치기 때문일 것이다. 본 연구는 청각장애인의 직업적 안정을 도모하기 위해 과거 청각장애 근로자에게만 초점을 둔 연구와 달리 인사관리자의 인식도 함께 연구하여 그 차이를 비교함으로써 청각장애 근로자의 성공적인 직업생활을 도모하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 청각장애 근로자는 임금을 이직의 가장 큰 이유로 꼽고 있었고, 인사관리자는 의사소통상의 모란을 고용의 가장 큰 어려움으로 꼽고 있었다. 청각장애인에게 적합한 직장 환경에서는 청각장애 근로자와 인사관리자 모두 청각장애인을 위한 배려가 있고 복리후생인 잘 된 직장이 중요한 것으로 인식되었다. 모범적인 청각장애 근로 지상에서는 성실하고 책임감이 강하며 동료와 협조적으로 일하는 사람으로 나타났으며, 청각장애 근로자들에 비해 인사E관리자의 평균이 모든 문항에서 높게 나타났다. 청각장애인의 성공적이 직업생활을 위해 4대 보험, 퇴직금과 같은 복리후생이 기업체에 정상적으로 마련되어야 할 것이며, 의사소통상의 장벽을 해소할 제도적 장치가 마련되어야 할 것이다. 그리고 인사관리자에 비해 낮은 모범적인 근로자상에 대한 인식 수준을 높이기 위해 기본적인 공교육 수준의 향상을 비롯한 개인의 욕구에 따른 다양한 교육의 기회가 청각장애인에게 제공되어야 할 것이다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that affect the work adjustment of workers with hearing impairment. by comparing the perception of the ideal worker with hearing impairment in general. It s also suggested the service strategies and intervention plans for increasing work adjustment among people with hearing impairment. A questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale was distributed to 322 workers with impairment and their immediate supervisors. Data were collected and analyzed from 131 workers with hearing impairment and 73 their immediately supervisors (the returning rate 68.0%). The questionnaire was composed of three sections. the demographic information. a series of questions about desirable work conditions. and the questions about the ideal worker with hearing impairment. To accomplish the purposes of this study. chi-squares. t-tests. corelation analyses. factor analyses. and regression analyses were carried out. The results of this study can be summarized as the following; First. significant factors affecting work adjustment of workers with hearing impairment are ①working conditions. ②working environments. ③personal relations and communication. and ④work attitudes. Second. the results of factor analyses showed that scales on the desirable working environment to people with hearing impairment and the ideal worker with hearing impairment revealed a two factor model respectively. Third. in comparison of perceptions of these two survey groups. there are differences in the desirable working environment. There showed a significant difference between these two group on the ideal worker with hearing impairment. Forth. among the desirable working environments for people with hearing impairment. considerable characteristics of people with hearing impairment. offering a retirement allowance and insurances are very important. Honesty. responsibility and the cooperation with fellow workers were identified as being the most salient variables in the order of importance. Fifth. the most important variable that affects the desirable working environment for people with hearing impairment was the degree on the perception forward the ideal worker with hearing impairment. However. important variables that affect the perception of the desirable worker with hearing impairment are age. length of tenure. religion. and school achievement. In conclusion. the following research implications can be suggested; First. enterprises and companies must put efforts on making good working environments for workers with hearing impairment. Second. the government and local community must exert all possible efforts to provide the opportunity of public and social education for increasing awareness level forward workers with hearing impairment.

        Analysis of the Current Status and Characteristics of the Hearing Impaired Using Data from the Actual Survey for the Disabled

        Purpose: This study intends to analyze the current status and characteristics of the hearing impaired by analyzing ‘actual survey data for the disabled’ from 2005 to recent, and to use them as basic data for establishing rehabilitation and welfare service policies for the hearing impaired. Methods: Among the items related to hearing impairment in the survey data, longitudinal, and meaningful areas such as general characteristics, hearing aid and communication, education and welfare services of the hearing impaired were mainly analyzed. Results: The prevalence of hearing impairment was 0.65% to 0.66% and the age distribution of the hearing impaired increased rapidly after the age of 50, and the proportion of over 65 years old increased by about 17.9% from 55.3% in 2008 to 73.2% in 2017. The rate of acquired factors (5.2% as of 2017) was higher than that of congenital factors as the cause of hearing impairment. The rate of people with hearing impairment who did not attend school increased as they went up from elementary school to high school, and the rate was the highest among the major areas of disability. Among the welfare needs of the hearing impaired, income security (40.4% as of 2017) was the highest. Conclusion: If research that reflects the various characteristics of hearing impairment is expanded in addition to periodic actual surveys for the disabled in the future, the current results is expected that it can be used as basic data for mid- to long-term welfare policies for the hearing impaired.

        Mental Health of the People with Hearing Impairment in Korea: A Population-Based Cross-Sectional Study

        Background: The prevalence of hearing impairment is increasing and an association between hearing impairment and mental health has been reported. Our study aimed to determine the association between hearing impairment and mental health in Korea.Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2010–2013, with a sample size of 18,563 individuals (6,395 with hearing impairment and 12,168 without hearing impairment), aged ≥20 years.Results: The female group with hearing impairment tended to have a higher rate of stress (odds ratio [OR], 1.32; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.11 to 1.56). The association between hearing impairment and depressive symptoms was higher in elderly males (OR, 1.60; 95% CI, 1.10 to 2.32), while the association of hearing impairment with sui-cide ideation was higher in elderly females (OR, 1.32; 95% CI, 1.00 to 1.75).Conclusion: Elderly individuals with hearing impairment are easily susceptible to poor mental health status. Early targeted intervention to address mental health problems is recommended for people with hearing impairment.

        청각장애아동의 배경변인 및 청각장애아동과 건청아동 간의 의사소통 관련 삶의 질 연구

        This study aims to identify characteristics of communication-related quality of life for children with hearing impairment. This study examined 151 children with hearing impairment and 252 hearing children. This study conducted ttest and F-test with diverse background variables, which was based on the children with hearing impairment data. Also, t-test was conducted between the 151 children with hearing impairment and 252 hearing children in the group of the school grades(elementary school, middle school, and high school). As a result, first, no difference was found in communication-related quality of life for the children with hearing impairment according to gender, school grades, degree of hearing impairment, way of communication practice and whether or not they use auditory assist devices. However, there was significant difference with the time the children with hearing impairment start using auditory assist devices among the groups: the sooner children use auditory assist devices, the better the result comes in communication-related life quality. Second, there was significant difference in communication-related quality of life between the hearing children and the children with hearing impairment according to school grades. The children with hearing impairment demonstrated lower score than hearing-children in all configuration factors and total score. Based on the results above, I hope this study can be useful to develop the effective education program for children with hearing impairment.

        청각장애학교에서 수학한 청각장애대학생의 정체성 연구 : 요인분석의 문항별 특성을 중심으로

        연구목적: 이 연구는 청각장애학교에서 수학한 청각장애대학생의 정체성을 알아보기 위하여 조사연구로 수행되었다. 연구방법: 전국의 대학교에 재학하고 있는 청각장애학생 중에서 청각장애대학교에서 수학한 120명의 자료를 수집하였다. 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석을 통하여 설문 문항의 특성을 중심으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 청각장애대학생의 청각장애수용은 객관적 인식과 주관적 인식이 공존한다. 둘째, 청각장애대학생의 농정체성은 청각장애 정체성 우선의 가청정체성이 함께 존재하는 이중 구조이다. 셋째, 청각장애대학생의 농문화에 대한 구성요인에는 수어, 농공동체, 그리고 농인 모임에서의 활동 등이 있다. 논의 및 결론: 청각장애학교에서 수학한 청각장애대학생의 정체성은 환경적 특성이 작용하는 구조임을 이 연구에서는 제안하고 있다. Purpose: This study was conducted as a research study to find out the identity of college students with hearing impairment who studied at the schools for hearing impairment. Method: Among the hearing impaired students currently attending universities in the country, 120 students who studied at the hearing impaired school were collected. Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the focus was on the characteristics of the questionnaire. Results: The results of the study were as follows. First, objective and subjective perceptions coexisted to self-awareness of hearing impairment for hearing impaired students. Second, the deaf identity of students with hearing impairment was a dual structure in which the hearing impairment and hearing identity prioritizes the hearing impairment identity. Third, the constitutive factors for the deaf culture of students with hearing impairments included sign language, deaf communities, and activities at deaf people s groups. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that the identity of the hearing impaired students studied at the hearing impaired school is a structure in which environmental characteristics work.

        정상인과 난청인에서 다화자 잡음을 이용한 소음환경하에서의 50% 인지 신호대잡음비의 비교

        The most common complaint of individuals with hearing impairment is the difficulty in understanding speech against background noise. In our previous study, we carried out a speech-in-noise test using multi-talker babble noise and spondee words. In the present study, we compared 50%-signal to noise ratios (SNRs) of hearing-impairment group with that of normal-hearing group, and analyze the effects of age and noise intensity affecting the results. Subjects and Method: Thirty listeners (of which each 10 listeners are in their forties, fifties, and sixties) with normal hearing and thirty listeners (each ten listeners in their forties, fifties, and sixties) with hearing impairment participated. Spondee words and multi-talker babble noise made from recording the voices of 10 males and 10 females were presented by a loudspeaker at a distance of one meter in front of the subject. Fifty percent-SNRs were measured at 50 dB HL, 60 dB HL, 70 dB HL, and 80 dB HL of noise intensity. Results: The mean 50% SNR for normal-hearing listeners in the forties, fifties and sixties of age were -13.4±2.1 dB, -11.5±2.3 dB, and -12.6±2.0 dB, respectively. The mean 50% SNR for hearing-impairment listeners in the forties, fifties and sixties of age were -11.2±3.4 dB, -9.5±3.0 dB, -8.7±2.7 dB, respectively. Hearing-impairment group showed significantly worse results than the normal- hearing group in all ages. Conclusion:These results support that our word-in-noise test using multi-talker babble noise is useful in measuring audibility against background noise for individuals with hearing-impairment.         청각장애어머니의 청각장애자녀 양육경험에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to research on the substance of a hearing-impaired mother’s parenting experience on a hearing-impaired child. To achieve such purpose of this study, the researcher posed ‘how is the parenting experience of a hearing-impaired mother on a hearing-impaired child’ as the study problem. To address this, researcher chose the qualitative study method which analyzes the recorded video of a hearing-impaired mother who uses sign language only and moreover collects and analyzes data through the appropriate phenomenological study method to understand the meaning and the substance of a hearing-impaired mother’s parenting experience. The collected data through an in-depth interview with four hearing-impaired mothers were analyzed according to the Colaizzi’s(1978) 7 procedures of analysis. This study found out 4 categories, 16 bundles of topics and 71 topics of hearing-impaired child parenting experience of a hearing-impaired mother. “A life of hearing-impaired mother who seeks the rope of hope from the beyond of blocked reality” was found as the core subject of the experience of the research objects. With these findings, this study makes some recommendations and suggestions for the practice. 본 연구는 청각장애어머니의 청각장애자녀 양육경험이 어떠한지 그 경험의 본질을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 ‘청각장애어머니의 청각장애자녀 양육경험은 어떠한가?’라는 연구문제를 설정하였다. 이 연구문제에 접근하기 위하여 청각장애어머니의 수어 진술을 오롯이 동영상에 담아 분석할 수 있는 질적 연구방법을 택하고, 청각장애어머니의 경험의 본질과 그 의미를 이해하는데 적합한 현상학적 연구방법으로 4명의 청각장애어머니와 심층면접을 하였으며 수집된 자료는 Colaizzi(1978)의 7단계 분석절차에 따라 분석했다. 본 연구를 통해 청각장애어머니의 청각장애자녀 양육경험은 4개의 범주, 16개의 주제묶음, 71개의 주제들로 분석되었고, 이를 종합하여 참여자들의 경험에서 “가로막힌 현실너머로 희망의 동아줄을 구하는 청각장애어머니의 삶”이라는 대주제를 발견할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 청각장애어머니의 청각장애자녀 양육경험에 대한 분석결과를 토대로 이들을 위한 사회복지 실천적 제언을 하였다.
